Noah Zimrman’s sudden comnt left Ian Whitley and the others, including George Goodman, montarily stunned.
George Goodman wore a baffled expression,
"Who said I wanted to kill you? I clearly said I wanted to kill that... Demon Ghost?"
The last two words seed to hit him with realization as he looked at Noah Zimrman, his expression evident with fear.
"You... you are that Demon Ghost..."
George Goodman didn’t know that the Demon Ghost ntioned by Scarlett Jennings was just a general term, but whether a demon or a ghost, it was scary enough for him.
As he stared at Noah Zimrman, he felt an eerie and sinister aura surrounding him.
Instinctively, he wanted to run, but Scarlett Jennings anticipated it. An Immobilization Talisman was set at his feet, causing George Goodman to feel as if his feet were glued to the ground.
Terrified, he looked at Scarlett Jennings, as if suddenly realizing,
"You knew he was the ghost all along! Are you in cahoots?!"
George Goodman was furious, wishing to go straight to the Security Bureau to report her.
Initially, Ian Whitley was confused, but now he finally reacted, sharply turning to Noah Zimrman,
"What’s the aning?! Did he steal your fortune?!"
Noah Zimrman wasn’t clear on the specifics either, and uncertainly replied,
"Should be, right?"
Earlier, when George Goodman wanted to kill the person whose fortune was stolen, Noah felt a malicious intent from him.
Ian Whitley was silent for a mont upon his reaction, then decisively turned to Scarlett Jennings,
"Master Jennings, what exactly is going on here?"
Scarlett hadn’t spoken yet when George Goodman’s assistant, spotting a potential savior, urgently waved down the corridor for help,
"Miss Sullivan! Miss Sullivan, please co and save George!"
He wasn’t sure what was happening, but knowing George might have stolen sothing, he could infer a bit.
Moreover, that inference was related to the person with the bodyguards coming down the corridor.
Camilla Sullivan, from the Capital tropolitan’s Sullivan Family, fad as the Capital Zone’s Princess.
She had co to visit George, only to find several people blocking the lounge entrance, making her quicken her pace, approaching with bodyguards.
"What’s going on?"
Seeing George frozen with a pale face and then the group inside and outside the lounge, her gaze fell on Scarlett Jennings, sowhat surprised,
"Are you Scarlett Jennings?"
Scarlett Jennings nodded as Camilla pointed to George,
"I don’t know if there’s any misunderstanding, but George is my friend. Could Miss Jennings have rcy on behalf of the Sullivan Family and release him?"
She knew who Scarlett Jennings was and that she used mystical techniques, which clearly had affected George.
A conflict’s reason was still unknown.
Scarlett Jennings carefully studied Camilla’s face as she spoke but did not rush to respond. Instead, she turned to Noah Zimrman and Ian Whitley, answering their previous question,
"With everyone gathered, I’ll explain what’s likely happening here."
Scarlett Jennings paused, then suddenly asked,
"Have you heard the story of the rfolk?"
The group was montarily taken aback; Ian Whitley subconsciously glanced at the rfolk nearby.
This rfolk tale seed to relate to Zimrman.
"The rfolk, yearning for a life on the shore, once accidentally rescued a prince at sea, sending him back ashore. But the prince mistook another girl for his savior..."
Scarlett Jennings narrated plainly, causing each listener’s expressions to alter.
Especially George Goodman and Camilla Sullivan, who felt the story was pointing at sothing.
Ian Whitley was the first to grasp the aning, eyes widening as he looked at Scarlett Jennings, then at Camilla Sullivan,
"Master Jennings, are you suggesting that she could be...?"
If Noah Zimrman was the rfolk, then Camilla Sullivan was the rescued prince??
Scarlett Jennings didn’t leave them guessing, looking directly at Camilla Sullivan,
"You are facing a major challenge this year associated with water, but I see it has passed; soone saved you, correct?"
Camilla Sullivan’s expression shifted, imdiately nodding,
"Indeed, I was swept away by massive waves while surfing early in the year, nearly lost my life but was saved by George."
She paused, looking at Scarlett Jennings, asking,
"Did you ntion the rfolk story to imply I’ve mistaken my savior?"
George Goodman’s face changed upon hearing this, responding rapidly,
"Camilla! Don’t listen to her nonsense! Scarlett Jennings and Noah Zimrman are in cahoots, trying to deceive you and !"
Camilla Sullivan looked at him and said,
"First, don’t speak. I’ll judge after hearing the entire story."
She turned again to Scarlett Jennings,
"Could you elaborate more on this?"
Scarlett Jennings simply replied,
"I only do face readings; the specifics must co from those involved."
She glanced at Noah Zimrman.
Camilla Sullivan looked at him next, "Was it you who saved by the sea early in the year?"
Noah Zimrman stared at Camilla Sullivan for a couple of seconds, hesitantly saying,
"I think so?"
Camilla Sullivan frowned, while Ian Whitley nearly exploded, slapping Noah on the arm,
"It either is or isn’t. How can there be any doubt? You should know if you saved soone!"
Noah Zimrman, slapped, looked innocent,
"I don’t rember."
He continued,
"I’ve rescued many in the sea; how could I recall? You’re just one among the humans I’ve saved."
Ian Whitley: ...
No rebuttal could counter that.
Camilla Sullivan was surprised to hear this answer,
"You’ve saved many at sea? Are you from a Sailor background?"
It didn’t seem so.
Noah Zimrman opened his mouth to explain but was quickly covered by Ian Whitley, who smiled at Camilla Sullivan,
"He’s not a sailor, but he loves going to sea and has a hobby of saving people there."
Scarlett Jennings saw Noah Zimrman was unreliable, prompting,
"She was swept away while surfing, likely tied to a surfboard."
Camilla Sullivan promptly took out her phone, showing the photo of her custom surfboard to Noah Zimrman.
Earlier uncertain about Camilla Sullivan, Noah Zimrman saw the vibrant surfboard picture, eyes brightening,
"I recognize this board! Months ago I indeed brought soone tied to this board ashore."
At the ti, he had vacation in the sea for family visits, captivated by the board’s vibrancy.
If the board hadn’t been strapped to her ankle, he would’ve taken it ho.
Speaking of which...
Strangely, after returning from visiting family, he found his demonic power unusually off...
