Chapter 184: Chapter 184: The Walking Spiritual Energy Extractor Chapter 184: Chapter 184: The Walking Spiritual Energy Extractor Once again stepping into Samuel Chalrs’s study, Scarlett Jennings only felt a clear calmness in her mind.

Sensing the familiar spiritual energy in the study, Scarlett’s lips involuntarily twitched slightly.

She knew that Boss Chalrs would unconsciously absorb the spiritual energy from her spirit gathering array, but she didn’t expect that he wasn’t using it for himself, but to decorate his room instead!

What made Scarlett even more envious was that the spiritual energy in this study was almost surpassing that of her room specifically arranged with a spirit gathering array…

Suddenly, she had the feeling that the array she paid for was being enjoyed by soone else for free.

Samuel saw that Scarlett’s expression had been quite complex since she entered and slightly turned his head to ask,

“Is there a problem with my study?”

Hearing this, Scarlett turned her head, her eyes carrying a hint of indescribable resentnt as she looked at him,

“No.”

Not only was there no problem, but the spiritual energy was also abundant.

Her ntor had previously said she was a genius, but in her view, no matter how talented she was, she couldn’t compare with soone like him, a child favored by the Heavenly Dao.

Just by standing there, nature’s spiritual energy would automatically converge toward him, his body enveloped in a golden light, impervious to harm.

This must be the treatnt of the Heavenly Dao’s favored child.

She couldn’t compare, absolutely couldn’t.

Scarlett quietly comforted herself in her heart and without delay, stepped forward to start the arrangent.

Setting up an isolation array wasn’t difficult; the hard part was that it consud quite a bit of spiritual power.

The array talismans in Scarlett’s bag were insufficient, so she needed to draw more.

Taking out her tools, Scarlett hesitated for a mont, rembering how the spiritual energy she had gathered would all run towards Samuel whenever she drew talismans before.

But it wouldn’t be appropriate to drive soone out of their own ho right now, so she had to grit her teeth and proceed with the drawing.

Unexpectedly, the imagined sensation of spiritual energy being absorbed did not occur. Instead, when she started drawing, she didn’t feel the slightest bit of stagnation, and the spiritual energy at the tip of her pen made the drawing incredibly smooth.

It was only then that Scarlett recalled that she experienced the sa feeling when drawing talismans in the deserted temple before.

At the ti, she thought it was the added faith power of the temple, but it didn’t seem like that now.

Scarlett subconsciously glanced at Samuel beside her, and a vague hypothesis ford in her mind.

She gingerly drew a few more talismans, this ti paying attention to the spiritual energy flow around her, only to discover that at the mont she raised her pen, the surrounding spiritual energy indeed started converging towards Samuel.

Yet, the spiritual energy seed to circle around him once, then returned to her pen tip in an even purer form.

Scarlett was montarily stunned.

What was going on?

Was the spiritual energy purified?

Could it be that she misunderstood before?

Samuel wasn’t automatically absorbing her gathered spiritual energy but was purifying it and sending it back?

It was just because the distance was far, the released spiritual energy couldn’t return to her place, so she only felt the energy being absorbed before, but the study where Samuel often stayed was filled with spiritual energy…

If that were the case…

Samuel Chalrs wasn’t just a walking source of protective golden light.

He was also a walking spiritual energy extractor!

Samuel saw her holding her pen in a daze initially, then suddenly turn her head to look at him with that indescribably complex gaze again.

Pressing his lips together, Samuel’s expression remained unchanged as he simply asked,

“What’s the matter?”

Hearing his voice, Scarlett thought for a mont and decided to share her guess with him.

After all, she had previously misunderstood him for “stealing” the spiritual energy from her spirit gathering array and had even asked him to sync his ti at ho with hers because of it…

Scarlett felt she had wronged him.

Samuel listened to her words without much reaction.

After all, the golden light, spiritual energy, and such that she ntioned, he hadn’t really felt.

Even when he encountered that obviously non-human boy today, Samuel rely thought of it as a troubleso matter to handle.

But Scarlett seed to care a lot about these things, perhaps even… liked them a bit.

“Since you say that spiritual energy is in this study, why don’t you take it with you?” Samuel proposed a suggestion he believed was logical.

Scarlett forced a smile, “No need, I can’t take it with .”

Not everyone could have a physique that automatically absorbed spiritual energy; as far as she knew, only Samuel had it.

Unless she used it all up on the spot…

This thought only flashed montarily, and Scarlett didn’t think much of it.

Letting that thought pass, Scarlett began setting up an isolation array centered on the study for the entire villa.

The array was to prevent others from tracking them by spiritual aura but had no protective effect by itself.

However, with the golden light on Samuel and the amulet she gave him, he usually encountered no danger.

Samuel noticed that after she set up the array, a thin layer of sweat appeared instantly on her forehead, and her complexion wasn’t good, so he slightly furrowed his brows,

“Rest on the sofa for a bit, I’ll have so tea and snacks brought over.”

Scarlett was truly exhausted; hearing this, she didn’t stand on ceremony and leaned slightly back on the sofa, closed her eyes, and began to regulate her breathing.

Not long after, the butler brought up the tea and snacks, and Samuel rose to take them.

He was about to let Scarlett eat sothing to replenish her energy, but when he turned his head, he found that the person on the sofa had at so point fallen into a deep sleep.

His deep eyes quietly regarded her for a while, and Samuel didn’t make a sound, gently placing the items on the table before leaving the study with light steps.

Closing the study door behind him, Samuel didn’t forget to instruct the butler,

“Don’t let anyone approach the study.”

He paused for a mont, then added, “And don’t make too much noise.”

The butler, though puzzled, always carried out the Family Head’s instructions without question, nodded in agreent, and headed downstairs.

Samuel took one last look at the study door behind him before turning and heading to his own room.

Scarlett slept straight until dusk.

Upon waking, she only felt familiar spiritual energy surrounding her, yet everything before her eyes felt sowhat unfamiliar.

It took Scarlett only a second of recollection to co to her senses.

She had fallen asleep in the big shot’s study…

A bit annoyed, she rubbed her head.

It was all because she had expended too much energy and spiritual power today, otherwise, she wouldn’t have dared to fall asleep so unguardedly in soone else’s house.

Especially since this was Boss Chalrs’s ho.

With his OCD, he probably couldn’t tolerate her casually lying on his sofa, so he must have left because of it.

Giving her head another pat, Scarlett swiftly gathered her belongings and prepared to head downstairs.

But just as she reached the staircase, she unexpectedly heard a familiar female voice.

The voice ca from the living room.

“Brother Samuel, Adam said Scarlett is with you. She hasn’t returned ho yet, and her family is worried, so they asked to co and check. I hope I’m not disturbing you?”

The voice carried a hint of familiarity and intimacy—it had to be Azura Loomis.

But…”Brother Samuel”?

Scarlett was a bit surprised that the big shot allowed soone else to call him such an intimate na.

So Azura and Samuel actually had a good relationship?

As if to address Scarlett’s inner doubts, she heard Samuel’s cool and emotionless voice from downstairs, correcting,

“I don’t like people calling that. You can call Mr. Chalrs.”

Don’t ask—if anyone does, it simply ans they’re not close at all.
