The Fake Heiress Turns out to Be a True Tycoon! Chapter 183 - 183 183 Who Can Refuse a Lively Little
Chapter 183: Chapter 183 Who Can Refuse a Lively Little Paperman? Chapter 183: Chapter 183 Who Can Refuse a Lively Little Paperman? “Let’s head back first,” Scarlett Jennings said, “On the way, I’ll find a way to hide your aura, so he won’t be able to find you so easily.”
Samuel Chalrs didn’t doubt her and nodded, “Okay.”
Adam Jennings listened to the whole exchange, looking incredulous. The Samuel he knew didn’t seem like such a Great Demon King.
Samuel Chalrs was the only one among the younger generation to beco a Family Head at such a young age, naturally setting him apart from these youngsters. Even within the Four Great Families, he rarely interacted with others.
Donovan Jennings was about the only one who could actually engage him in conversation.
However, Donovan was truly the standout of their generation, so Adam had no argunts.
But Scarlett Jennings… why her?
Just because of her skills?
Adam felt it didn’t seem right.
After all, with the Chalrs Family’s status and wealth, could Samuel Chalrs not find capable individuals? He was aware of several families that exclusively raised Feng Shui Masters.
If Samuel Chalrs truly had the need, hiring ten wouldn’t be a problem.
Adam just couldn’t understand, not at all.
“Scarlett Jennings, I know you have so skills, but there are things you shouldn’t overestimate yourself for. If there’s really such a demon trying to get at Mr. Chalrs as you said, it’s best to find a real master.”
Adam sincerely wanted to advise her.
He didn’t think she was faking it.
After the previous incidents, he believed she had real ability, but it depended on the situation.
She could handle things like studying sound suppression, but should she encounter a powerful figure, a true master would be needed.
Ultimately, he didn’t think Scarlett Jennings was that powerful.
Because after all, how old was she?
If things went wrong, it wasn’t just her own safety at risk, Mr. Chalrs might also be implicated, and it wouldn’t be easy to face the Chalrs Family then.
Adam believed he was being well-intentioned, but Scarlett didn’t want to listen. Just as she hesitated whether to place a prohibition on him, she heard Samuel Chalrs speak in a calm but indisputable voice,
“In my eyes, Miss Jennings is the real master.”
He said, “I trust her.”
His words silenced Adam, and gave Scarlett a feeling of comfort and validation.
Even though she was used to being doubted, who could refuse such unwavering affirmation?
Her almond-shaped eyes curved slightly, and, unusually, brightness shone in her usually calm eyes.
Scarlett didn’t pay attention to Adam anymore. She pulled out two pieces of yellow paper from her backpack. Unlike the talisman paper she used before, these had no runes on them.
She quickly cut the yellow paper into the shape of little people.
Watching her cut the little paperman, Samuel Chalrs saw that the size and shape were almost identical, with perfectly round heads and symtrical hands and feet, without any rough edges.
In an instant, those with OCD felt great comfort.
Scarlett wasn’t aware that the little papern had imdiately raised Samuel Chalrs’ opinion of her.
She walked over to the incense altar in front of the wild temple and used the remaining incense ashes to quickly draw runes with a small Vermillion pen.
Even though this was a wild temple without any spiritual energy, it used to house deities, so there was lingering belief from the villagers in the incense ashes.
Adam and Samuel Chalrs witnessed that as Scarlett finished drawing the last stroke on the runes, the air inside the temple seed clearer for a mont.
The next mont, as they looked again, the two talisman paper figures in Scarlett’s hand seed to co to life.
Samuel Chalrs remained composed, having seen the little ginseng-like shadow spirit before. His expression showed no surprise at the sight of the animated little papern.
However, Adam, despite having witnessed Scarlett’s skills, couldn’t help but widen his eyes at this mont.
“They’re… alive.”
Instinctively, he reached out to grab Samuel Chalrs, but before his hand could make contact, Samuel sensed it and stepped aside, walking directly over to Scarlett.
“What is this?”
“A prop to help us leave without being detected,” Scarlett said, casually grabbing sothing from Samuel Chalrs.
Samuel had seen this action more than once and guessed she was grabbing that so-called golden light from him again.
He watched as Scarlett infused one little paperman with a speck of this golden light.
The paperman began to emit a faint golden glow.
What was once a clumsy little paperman now seed invigorated.
It imdiately leaped from Scarlett’s hand, performing several backflips for its audience.
This dumbfounded Adam, and even Scarlett seed montarily stunned.
She had only intended to use the golden light to confuse the little flood dragon; who would have thought its effect would be so potent?
If she had known, she would’ve taken more of it at the start.
Who could resist a lively little paperman?
Samuel Chalrs had a different perspective.
He had always heard her ntion the golden light on him and had seen her “grab” it from him.
But since he couldn’t see it, he hadn’t paid much attention or thought himself special.
It wasn’t until he saw the glow emitting from the little figure that he vaguely understood what she ant by seeing the golden light.
Was this light the “golden light” on him?
Hmm, it was quite mystical.
Next, Scarlett released the two little papern carrying both her and Samuel Chalrs’ aura.
She gave each of them a talisman paper to conceal their auras and prepared to descend the mountain.
Adam was stunned throughout the process and couldn’t muster a single word of dissent.
It wasn’t until he sat in the back seat of the car they arrived in that he realized Scarlett wasn’t with him.
He looked out to see her getting into Samuel Chalrs’ car.
Adam’s heart instantly leapt.
Was the Great Demon King’s car just anyone allowed to sit in?
Samuel was a perfectionist—he wouldn’t let soone wearing the wrong clothes even stand near his car, let alone ride in it!
“Scarlett Jennings, where are you going?”
Co back imdiately!
Scarlett glanced at him, simply saying, “Mr. Chalrs and I have sothing to deal with. You go back with the driver.”
Letting him follow was already a mistake.
She needed to correct this mistake now.
Hearing she planned to leave with Samuel Chalrs, leaving him behind, Adam imdiately objected, “No way!”
Saying this, he was about to get out of the car.
Samuel Chalrs shot him a glance, and the driver, understanding his boss’s intention, locked the car doors and promptly drove off with Adam, disappearing down the mountain road.
Scarlett finally felt at peace and settled back into her seat.
The driver started the car, asking Samuel Chalrs, “Mr. Chalrs, are we heading back to the company?”
Samuel didn’t answer, instead looked to Scarlett.
She was looking down at her phone, ordering sothing, and upon hearing him, she slightly lifted her head, “To the Chalrs Family’s residence.”
She hadn’t realized earlier that the leader posed such a threat. Now that she knew, she had to put protections in place where he lived.
Hopefully, considering her efforts, he’d let her take more of that golden light.
