"Madman."

Chen Li looked at the crazed Nan Qingqing and spat out those two words.

Nan Qingqing’s foster mother rescued her from a fire and poured all her love onto her.

Whatever she wanted, she provided, even if it ant selling their belongings to afford it.

But Nan Qingqing was never satisfied, like a blood-sucking parasite, draining her foster parents dry, not even sparing their corpses.

In the end, she took the money, blad them for their incompetence, dusted off her pants, and left that ho to return to her biological parents.

Such a ruthless and ungrateful wretch truly deserves to die!

The strong man holding down Nan Qingqing looked up at Chen Li.

"Secretary Chen, what should we do next?"

Chen Li slowly stood up, looking down at Nan Qingqing with a chillingly cold gaze.

"Break her hands, send her to the police station, and also have soone notify the Nan Family."

Upon hearing this, the strong man unhesitatingly pulled out a knife and severed Nan Qingqing’s tendons in her hands.

Nan Qingqing erupted in a painful scream.

"Ah!"

Chen Li watched this scene, her eyes exuding bone-chilling coldness.

In a daze, she seed to see the smiling, grateful faces of Nan Qingqing’s foster parents before her.

Chen Li lowered her gaze and turned to leave the scene.

Behind her, Nan Qingqing’s wails were heart-wrenching.

"Ah—"

Far away in the Psychiatric Hospital, Sheng Ruoi suddenly woke up.

She was alone in the pitch-dark hospital room, not a soul in sight.

Drenched in sweat, she gasped for air, muttering to herself.

"Qingqing, Qingqing."

"I think I heard Qingqing screaming in pain."

Sheng Ruoi clutched her chest as if feeling that agony, tears sliding down her face.

She climbed off the hospital bed, trying to leave to check on Qingqing.

No sooner had Sheng Ruoi descended the stairs than she felt a binding sensation on her foot; looking down, she saw a piece of cloth tightly trapping her.

Since the doctors at the Psychiatric Hospital deed her a severe ntal patient, fearing she might harm herself or others, they restrained her to the bed.

They administered sedatives every day to keep her asleep.

If not for the sudden severe pain in her chest, Sheng Ruoi wouldn’t have woken up.

With a hideous expression, Sheng Ruoi turned back to glare at the cloth, as if eyeing an enemy.

Imdiately, she hysterically began to tear at the cloth with her nails.

But it was utterly ineffective.

Frustrated, she tried biting it, but couldn’t even loosen it slightly.

Sheng Ruoi scread wildly, "Ah!!!"

Her voice echoed loudly across the hospital room.

Soon, the policeman Officer Yang stationed at the door heard her.

Officer Yang imdiately said to a colleague: "You go quickly and call the doctor, I’ll check inside."

The colleague turned to find the doctor.

Officer Yang, anwhile, took out a gun from his pocket, assuming a defensive stance, and opened the door.

As the door opened, the light from the corridor shined inside, barely illuminating Sheng Ruoi within.

Sheng Ruoi, with disheveled hair and curled in a corner of the bed, was fiercely biting the cloth, looking as ghastly as a ghost under the dim light.

Officer Yang couldn’t help but back away half a step, but quickly recomposed himself and faced Sheng Ruoi directly.

"Don’t move!"

As soon as Sheng Ruoi heard Officer Yang’s voice, she imdiately turned to look at him, her mouth stretched wide, eyes filled with longing.

"You’ve arrived just in ti; I am not insane, please let go!"

Officer Yang remained still, pointing the gun towards her head.

"Sheng Ruoi, lie back down."

He rembered the doctor specifically warned that patients like Sheng Ruoi were adept at lying and could be extrely violent.

The Psychiatric Hospital once had a patient just like Sheng Ruoi, who verbally claid to be well and appeared normal and lucid.

But once the doctor believed the patient and loosened the restraints, that patient would imdiately drop the pretense, causing massive destruction and violently attacking everyone, even committing murder.

That incident caused significant damage to the hospital.

Because of that patient, the Psychiatric Hospital took extra precautions with similar cases.

"Sheng Ruoi, stop pretending, I won’t let you go!"

Officer Yang stood at the door, maintaining a safe distance, his eyes intense and firmly fixed on her.

Seeing that Officer Yang was not helping her, Sheng Ruoi irately began to curse.

"Damn it, are you an idiot? I told you I’m not insane, you’ve got it all wrong, why won’t you let go?"

"Or are you blind, can’t you see I’m normal?"

"Hurry up and let go, I need to see my daughter!"
