Nan Qingqing took a seat in the back of the car and pulled out her eyeshadow palette, starting to apply makeup under her eyes by using the mirror.

She created dark circles with a shade of black and then added so red to make it look like her eyes were swollen from crying, giving off an appearance of exhaustion.

After everything was done, she put away her things, satisfied.

The next second, her phone rang.

When Nan Qingqing looked at her phone, she saw that it was a call from Gu Chuxin.

She imdiately put on a smile and answered in a sweet, tender voice, "Vice Chairman Gu~"

As soon as she spoke, Gu Chuxin erupted on the other end of the line, "Nan Qingqing, didn’t you say you would persuade your brothers to agree? Why did Nan Zhuoyuan call this morning to say that he doesn’t need my treatnt for Duan Zhu?"

"I was okay with not treating her, but do you know how outrageous your eldest brother is?"

"He actually got an intern to be responsible for your mother’s acupuncture treatnt! Isn’t that a slap in my face? Are you saying that I’m not even as good as an intern?"

After listening to Gu Chuxin’s outburst, Nan Qingqing was stunned.

She opened her mouth to speak but then hesitated, finally saying, "Vice Chairman Gu, don’t be anxious. I’ll be at the hospital soon. Wait for to get there and see what the situation is."

Gu Chuxin let out a cold laugh, "Nan Qingqing, if your Nan Family is trying to humiliate in this manner, Sheng Ruoi might as well not bother seeking my treatnt, and you can go ahead and ask that intern to treat her!"

Nan Qingqing heard the fury in Gu Chuxin’s voice and quickly lowered her stance, apologizing, "Vice Chairman Gu, I really wasn’t aware of this matter, please calm down."

"My elder brother didn’t hold a family eting yesterday, I guess he decided this on his own without notifying anyone."

"Right now, I really don’t know where this intern ca from. Wait for to get to the hospital to understand the details, I will give you an explanation. Please don’t give up on treating my foster mother."

After she finished speaking, there was silence on the other end.

Nan Qingqing guessed that Gu Chuxin must be calming down her emotions and couldn’t help feeling anxious as she silently waited for her response.

After a minute, Gu Chuxin’s voice finally ca through.

"Nan Qingqing, for the sake of that ginseng, I’ll give you one more chance to save face. Clear up this situation, or else don’t bla for not helping you!"

As soon as the words were spoken, the phone call ended abruptly.

Nan Qingqing, listening to the silence on the other end, dared to breathe again.

She clenched her phone, her face revealing a hint of impatience.

With great difficulty, the biggest trouble—Nan Yu’s death—was behind her; how could there still be so many troubles?

The people of the Nan Family are really more botherso than the next!

And that Duan Zhu, can’t she just honestly die?!

After ten minutes, Nan Qingqing arrived at Nan’s Hospital.

She entered with a dark expression, heading straight for the ward where Duan Zhu was staying.

Upon reaching the eighth floor, she rushed in the direction of the ward.

Before even entering, she was stopped by two security guards, standing like mountains at the door.

Nan Qingqing completely forgot her crying expression and stood there with a look of irritation.

Rembering she was in a hospital, she quickly resud a pitiful deanor.

"What are you blocking for? I want to go in and see my mother."

The security guards were unmoved.

One of them spoke, "Sorry, Miss Sixth, the Eldest Young Master specifically instructed that now only the Eldest Young Master and Dean Li’s treatnt team are allowed inside. All others are prohibited from entering."

Nan Qingqing’s eyes widened, and she pointed at herself, "I can’t go in either?"

The security guard nodded, "Yes, you cannot."

Nan Qingqing’s eyes reddened, and she put on a pitiable act, "I don’t believe it. My elder brother would never prohibit from entering. You must have heard wrong!"

"All of you, move aside! I need to see my mother. Mom must be missing !"

The security guards remained impassive, still barring her way.

"Miss Sixth, if you don’t believe us, you can wait here for the Eldest Young Master to co out and ask him yourself."

The next second, Nan Zhuoyuan walked out of the ward and scolded her harshly.

"Nan Qingqing, what’s all this noise? This is a ward, not a place for causing a commotion!"
