Nan Yu hadn’t slept well that night, always waking suddenly after less than two hours of sleep.

After it happened several tis, she simply stopped trying to sleep, got up from the bed, sat on the balcony, and flipped through the dical book her master had left her.

The dical book was worn and the pages were yellowed, filled with black ink scribbles; it was evident Nan Yu had read through it many tis and made nurous notes.

In fact, she had long known the contents of the book by heart.

But when she felt uneasy, she would always take it out to read again, as if her master was still by her side, which could calm her down.

Nan Yu finished the last page, closed the dical book, and placed it together with the silver needle her master had left her.

Turning around, she saw Xiao Ba by the bed, staring at her movents with its round black eyes, not looking away.

Nan Yu pushed the box deep into the wardrobe and said to Xiao Ba, "The things in here are very important to , so they must be well hidden and not let others find out."

Xiao Ba seed to understand and shifted its eyes to the side, staring intently in that direction as if morizing the location of the item.

After putting away the items, Nan Yu picked up the dog leash from the floor and put it around Xiao Ba’s neck.

She crouched in front of it and instructed, "I’m going out today and won’t be back until very late, so I will cut up so beef and bring it up for you."

"I might have to lock you in the bedroom temporarily. If you feel stuffy, you can go to the balcony to bask in the sun, but don’t scare the household."

Xiao Ba obediently nodded its big head, "Roar~"

Nan Yu smiled satisfactorily, "I’ll buy a toy to bring back for you to play with tonight."

After speaking, she tied the other end of the leash to the balcony door; the length of the rope was enough for it to move around the entire bedroom space.

Xiao Ba lay on the ground, panting with its tongue out, like an obedient dog.

"I’m going to cut the at."

Nan Yu stood up and walked out of the bedroom.

Upon leaving, she saw Nanny Wang and Qi Ming standing at the door. Upon seeing Nan Yu erge, they imdiately stood upright.

Qi Ming averted his gaze and smiled at Nan Yu, "Young Madam, the beef you asked to buy has already been purchased, it’s downstairs."

Nan Yu rolled up her sleeves, took an apron from Nanny Wang’s hands, and put it on, "I’m going downstairs to cut beef for Xiao Ba. I’ll feed it once shortly and then, according to my instructions, feed it again tonight."

Nanny Wang’s curious gaze still lingered inside. Seeing the beast reveal its fangs, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of fear and stepped back.

She covered her heart and followed Nan Yu downstairs, "Young Madam, isn’t it unsafe to keep a lion in the bedroom? How about keeping it in a cage in the backyard?"

Nan Yu paused her steps downstairs for a mont, then continued.

"Everyone is so afraid of lions, and it’s not convenient to keep them in the backyard. In a couple of days, I’ll find a place for it."

Nanny Wang wanted to say more, but Qi Ming interjected, "Young Madam, why not keep the lion in the villa next door?"

Seeing the large chunks of beef in the kitchen, Nan Yu picked up the kitchen knife, turned her head after hearing Qi Ming, and asked in confusion, "The villa next door is unoccupied, isn’t it inappropriate to keep it in soone else’s house?"

Qi Ming smiled and said, "The next villa also belongs to the Huo Family. The young master likes quiet, and the old lady fears he wouldn’t get accustod to neighbors who are noisy, so she bought three villas back then. The middle one would serve as a wedding house, and the other two villas were left empty, occasionally maintained by soone."

Nan Yu: "..."

Are they really that wealthy?

Nanny Wang also quickly added, "The rooms next door are very spacious, and the backyard has artificial hills and flowing water, with quite a few plants grown. Since no one lives there regularly, it would be most suitable to keep it there!"
