"So you jumped off the cliff?"

Yan Ren recorded this, his movents halting, a flicker of pity flashing in his eyes.

He had seen all kinds of victims, but it was the first ti he encountered soone as pitiable as Nan Yu.

Impersonated by another, repeatedly led into death traps, anyone else would have died many tis over by now!

He could hardly imagine how Nan Yu had survived one deadly situation after the next!

Nan Yu’s face was pale, her swollen eyes exuding strength.

She shook her head, "At that ti, I was out of options. The only thing I could do was climb out the back window to see if there was a way out."

"I didn’t expect there to be a sheer cliff right below the window. My first reaction was to grab hold of the windowsill, pressing close to the wall, which kept from falling."

"After that, fearing they would barge in and kill , I climbed along the wall to the roof and hid in the bushes nearby, which is how they didn’t find ."

Yan Ren seed to visualize Nan Yu’s desperate fight for survival, clenching his pen so hard that nervous sweat appeared on his forehead.

He asked anxiously, "How did you manage to escape then?"

Nan Yu took a sip of tea, steadying her frayed nerves, calming herself down.

"I waited until they all left with the ambulance before coming out of the bushes. I intended to walk down the mountain on foot, back to City A."

"But at the zoo, there was a lion nad Xiao Ba. It appeared before and carried down the mountain."

"Because of the high fever that rendered unconscious, when I ca to, I was already back in City A."

Yan Ren recorded all of this, then passed the notes to Nan Yu.

"Nan Yu, please check if there is anything incorrect. If there are no issues, you can sign it."

Nan Yu read from top to bottom, making sure everything was correct, confirming Yan Ren had recorded everything.

She signed her na and then looked up at Yan Ren with a sincere gaze and earnest words.

"Captain Yan, that was the first case. Now, I need to report a second one."

The movent of Yan Ren’s hand paused as he instantly realized the second case she ntioned was the one from the recording.

He quickly flipped to the next clean page, sat up straight, and focused intently on Nan Yu.

"Go ahead, start talking."

Nan Yu went on to tell Yan Ren everything she had overheard in the underground parking lot, not missing a single detail.

"Captain Yan, I strongly suspect that Nan Qingqing and Gu Chuxin have colluded in a preditated murder conspiracy."

Yan Ren took note of everything Nan Yu said and asked a few simple questions.

"Nan Yu, why were you at Nan’s Hospital so late?"

Nan Yu replied, "I was worried about my mother’s safety; the hospital is too crowded during the day, so I thought I’d take the chance to visit her stealthily at night when there were fewer people."

Yan Ren could understand her reason for sneaking in.

Now that the Nan Group was publicly offering a large reward for Nan Yu’s corpse, they wanted her dead or alive to take the bla.

If they found out she was still alive, they would certainly not let her go!

"Nan Yu, but with just your account of these events, we can’t officially open an investigation yet. From the recording, it appears they haven’t made a move, so we can’t prove if it’s true or not."

"However, I will visit the hospital tomorrow, speak with the people from the Nan family, and ask Nan Qingqing and Gu Chuxin so questions."

After a mont of thought and a furrowed brow, Nan Yu suggested, "Captain Yan, for the second case, you could inquire through the first case, try not to alert them prematurely."

Yan Ren put his pen away, turned off the cara, then clasped his hands together, looking directly at Nan Yu.

"Nan Yu, I will imdiately open an investigation for the first case and assign soone to look into it. I will personally conduct a covert investigation for the second case. Should there be any news, I will inform you straight away."
