Was she choosing between her brother and her sister? Mignon was not sure, but all she knew was that if Shikera saw this too, she would not bla her for telling Ethan where she was.
"You...you can get up now. I’ll tell you where she is," she repeated. "Kera...she got to the Island a month ago with my grandmother, the woman who took in five years ago and whom I’ve lived with since then."
She sighed out loud before adding, "And you’re right. We ca to the hospital together because she wanted to et her doctor for sothing." Mignon didn’t ntion Shikera’s pregnancy. She might have told him of her whereabouts, but she would not rob Shikera the chance to telling Ethan herself.
"Is she alright?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah, she is. She adjusted to the environnt pretty well in just a few days," Mignon replied. Noticing the way Ethan’s shoulder relaxed in relief, she said, "We can talk about everything that happened later. For now, you should be relieved that you know where she is."
Ethan disagreed, "Tell everything now. You think I want to spend another day apart from her?"
"Of course not! But you can’t just go there. Let’s make her miss you beyond reasoning too! I have my ways to make that happen."
Ethan frowned but refrained from muttering any words of disapproval.
"How much ti will you need?" he asked instead.
"Just today," Mignon replied imdiately. Smiling mischievously, she added, "But you have to follow my instructions. Now let’s go swim!"
"Swim?"
"Yes, Swim," Mignon confird confidently.

Had she been followed by a stalker?!
Her brain ran through the options of what she could do to escape the person behind her, but at the end of it all, she could think of nothing.
She felt her head co up above the water and realized that the stalker had swam up with her. Thank God, he was that reasonable.
Gasping to regain her breath, she stuttered, "Ehm...i...who are you please?" Force would not work here because from the strong arms wrapped around her, she knew she had no chance of overpowering the person. And apart from that, she was pregnant. She would not dare try to use force against soone that definitely didn’t have any sense of reasoning.
Receiving no answer apart from the hand which wound tighter around her, Shikera attempted to ask again.
"Please...can we get out of the water?" she asked.
"I’m...sorry. I forgot you’ll be cold," the voice ca, sending shivers down Shikera’s spine.
Was she hallucinating again? No, it better not be now! Hands that were supposed to be creepy and make her feel uncomfortable were doing the opposite, a voice that was supposed to sounds scary was sounding familiar to her too. What was happening to her?! Or was this all because of this sex drive nonsense that Krystal was talking about?
Amidst her thoughts, Shikera felt the hands around her loosen and she wasted no ti before swimming away from the intruder. She turned to face whoever it was in the water as she yelled, "Who the f—"
Her words caught in her throat and she found it hard to continue as recognition of the face dawned on her. It couldn’t be...Her brain must be ssing up with her again.
"I missed you," Ethan whispered. He could clearly see her furrowed eyebrows, her shocked face, her slightly parted lips and her defensive posture even though they were in the water. Her brown hair was wet and resting naturally on her back, giving her that innocent look that was capable of turning him on at any ti. But this ti, he just wanted to look at her face for as much as he wanted. One month without her had seed like a lifeti of loneliness to him, and he was damn sure he couldn’t let that happen again. What had he been thinking when he thought he could settle everything before finding her? Now, he knew the first step was to get her to be with him and then settle the rest in whatever way it required.
Even if he would have to destroy those in question, beyond repair.
"Is...this real?" Shikera managed to ask. She had blinked and blinked but whenever she opened her eyes, he was still the one in the water with her. Even now, she was barely keeping herself above the water as her legs shook underneath.
Instead or answering her, Ethan swam to her and held her up in the water, his dark gaze boring into her slightly scared one. Slowly, he helped her out of the water and laid her on the clean rock still half naked. His long hand reached for her towel which was lying not far from him, and with prolonged silence, he began to clean her wet hands, legs and whole body until he got to her hair.
On the other hand, Shikera’s eyes trailed down from his focused face down to his muscled abs which had droplets of water glistening here and there. She went further down to notice that he was wearing dark corduroy short knickers which reached his knees—
"What are you looking at?" his voice paused her assessnt, causing her to snap her head up to look at him.
"You are Ethan," Shikera murmured stupidly as if just realizing who it was before her. But what she didn’t expect was the smile that ford on his lips. He rarely smiled so every single one from him always sent her reeling in shock and admiration, like it was the very first one she was seeing.
He leaned towards her and pulled her into a hug, whispering in her ears, "Seems like you still can’t recognize . You won’t forget my lips so easily, right?"
With that, he began to plaster kisses on her shoulders as sensuously as possible, igniting sparks of desires from within her. He captured her lips with the speed of an expert, his one hand entangling itself in her wet hair while the other pulled her closer.
He was cold from soaking in the lake when the evening wind had just started, so his whole body leaned in to the only source of warmth it found. Shikera’s body and her mouth. His tongue entangled with hers, permitting him to taste that familiar sweet lips that cured his nightmares.
Whether Kyle’s theory was true or not was none of his concern, he just knew that this was the real deal. Much to his disappointnt, Ethan had to stop when he was just getting absorbed. He could feel Shikera shivering in his arms so he drew away from her.
"Are you okay?" he asked, to see her nod slowly. She was still in shock and he expected it. If you were alone ten minutes ago and suddenly with the person you least expected now, he himself would be shocked.
"I’m fine," Shikera replied.
"Are you sure? You can tell anything," Ethan pressed. He was just noticing now that her face was dry that she looked frail, and weak sohow. She always looked slightly frail but this one was different.
"I’m fine, Ethan. I guess it’s...maybe it’s the cold," Shikera replied, avoiding his eyes. She reached for her dress but he got it before her and assisted her in wearing it, his careful hand which kept touching her here and there, causing her to flinch from ti to ti.
He wore his t-shirt when he was done and together, the both of them rose to their feet. Ethan only had to slip his legs in the sandals he was wearing, which he had not bother to unclasp when he took them off; But Shikera’s was different so he had to squat down and help her clasp them back.
"Done," he stated, looking down at her with satisfaction in his eyes. "We should—"
He trailed off as Shikera walked away from him, her footsteps fast and rushed as she took large strides away from him.
"Shikera?" he called, confused. "Aren’t you happy to see ?"
Shikera paused, turning slowly to face him.
"How did you get here? And how did you even know I was here?"
"Who should be the one asking questions here, Shikera? You...or ?" Ethan asked back, closing in on her. The small smile on his face had dissapeared and was now replaced by a deep frown which showed his displeasure.
"I—i don’t know..." Shikera muttered.
"Oh, you should know, Kera. You left ho without so much as a word for , leaving a divorce paper and a daughter whom you know will miss you damn well! You even told your friends, Shikera, but not , all because of the words one old man said? Who fucking cares if you’re not an Anderson?!"
"Don’t," Shikera raised her hands to stop him.
"What? You don’t want to—"
"Not that," she interrupted, "You can vent all you want but don’t utter curse words..."
