The work on the road started after Raze spent three hours explaining to Robert and so of the workers what they were going for. He made sure he spent his ti explaining the details and getting into the nitty-gritty of everything, and when he was certain that they understood what they had to do, he headed back to the manor.

When he arrived, Elaine was already waiting for him. She stood at the door like she had been there for long. "Young master," she called out and rushed to et him. "Are you alright, young master?" she asked, looking at his body all around.

"I’m sure the others told you I was fine when they ca back," Raze said.

"Frankly, I no longer believe your definition of being okay, young master." She kept checking his body while speaking. When she was certain that he was fine, she finally stopped.

"I’m sorry I made you worry. What happened was unforeseen," Raze said, then he turned and glanced at the town and the forest in the far distance. "Even then, I feel like whatever it was, it isn’t over yet," he said, then faced her. "Where is Gavin?" he asked.

"The young man that ca along? He is currently inside with Ella and Sir Lewis from the academy since Sir Lewis is a teacher from the academy."

"I see, that’s fine then. I want to see my father," Raze said and walked past her into the house. He headed up imdiately. When he got to the office, he knocked twice, pushed the door open, and entered.

"I was wondering when you would co," his father spoke. He was seated in the chair, a quill in hand as he wrote a letter. "A few minutes ago, a ssage ca through by way of a hawk, a letter from the count." He dipped the quill in the ink, tapping it at the bottom to ensure no drips. He pulled it out and held it above the paper for a few seconds.

"Similar attacks happened around the region, small towns attacked, infected coming into towns, a few towns suffered heavy casualties." He placed the tip of the quill down and continued writing.

’More than one attack? What’s happening? I have no recollection of this. Wait, the plague.’ Raze ca to a realization that imdiately scared him. Originally, people were believed to not have any effect when it ca to the darkness energy, but then suddenly in the story, the plague started.

The plague was caused by demonic energy, and the first ti that humans beca infected, it was spread through the sharing of fluids and other thods as well.

It was the first major arc that crafted Gavin’s character, when students were asked to help in handling certain situations, and he was forced to choose between saving humans and killing forr humans with demonic energy.

’Could this be the setup to the plague? Could it be that the plague was actually started by the monster attacks? It makes sense now. This is bad. Should I do sothing? What can I do? Until the plague starts showing up, I can’t know what to do.

Tsk, it’s for the best I watch and see for now. I can’t start running around to save everyone based off a hunch; I would be putting myself at the cetery of the story and changing the plot. My reason for being here is to live my best life and also read, not take over the story, they have Gavin for that.’

His father saw that he was lost in thought and tapped the quill on the table twice, snapping him back to reality. "I’m making an account of what happened from our side as well. Thank you for handling the situation so well for us. I don’t know what would have happened otherwise," his father said.

"It wasn’t anything," Raze replied. "I hope you can give any updates that have to do with the issue. I’d like to know," Raze said.

His father nodded. "I’ll keep you posted, Raze," he replied and looked down to keep writing. Raze walked to the door, then paused. He looked at his father. "Please make sure to show up for dinner today. I’ll be the one cooking." He walked out after that.

Raze had two things in mind for today: cook and then make the biggest batch of soap and perfus. But that wasn’t all, he was going to read a ton of new books to start creating better versions of his soaps and perfus, maybe even use so magic in them.

[....]

The entire house was filled with the aroma of food so good it pulled them close. The maids, Ken, Lewis, Lady Terra, Fey, Ella, even his brothers were hanging around to see what was happening.

This ti, Raze took on the task of cooking with only the help of Elaine, and all she did was assist in a few things. He moved like a machine, working extrely fast and precise. He channeled his Qi while he cooked, giving him a lot more strength to move fast.

It was like a dance in the kitchen. Sweat glistened on his forehead while he cooked, his eyes locked in. He used God’s Eye to ensure he watched everything he was doing.

The at, the baked goods, the rice, potatoes, everything slled so good, like an orchestra of beautiful aromas.

After more than three hours of cooking, he was done. He loosened his apron and tossed it on his shoulder, a victorious smile on his face. "Elaine, we did good," he said as he scanned all the food with his eyes. They had made so much food, an amount that should be impossible for only two people.

’Elaine kept up with my speed; she didn’t even complain once. Her physical strength and stamina are definitely no joke. Hmmm, Elaine, what is it about you exactly? I can tell you aren’t as simple as you say you are,’ Raze thought, but he pushed the thought aside for now. It didn’t matter now.
