The doors to the COMB 110 hall were opened abruptly, attracting everyone’s attention.

Lucien’s eyes widened seeing her there.

He was trying to find her all over the entrance exam and the orientation, but couldn’t.

But now, she had appeared here.

He looked around and saw the boys basically fawning over her beauty.

He glared at them, which they felt clearly, and looked away instantly.

For better or for worse, Selene was still his fiancée.

Even though neither of them had the other’s contact number.

"Cadet Selene," Gary imdiately appeared in front of her.

He didn’t teleport; he was just that fast.

"There’s a class in progress, and you are not a part of it." His tone was stern.

"May I inquire what business you have here?"

Selene didn’t even flinch in his presence.

She had her smile etched the entire ti.

"I apologize for barging in without warning, Professor, but I had business with Cadet Lucien Callastre."

The professor was silent for a while, rembering the relationship both had.

They were also legally adults, so there was nothing inherently wrong with it.

But they were still on the campus.

"How important is it?" He asked, his voice calm.

"It can wait," Selene answered honestly.

"Then, you are free to leave, Cadet Selene."

He turned around to leave, but Selene suddenly stopped him.

"Professor, wait a minute," She requested, as she took out a piece of paper and pen.

She started scribbling sothing on the paper, as everyone waited.

After just a few seconds, Gary warned, "We don’t have all day to waste–"

But cutting him in between, Selene folded the paper and gave it to him. "Please pass this paper to him, professor."

She deliberately acted over the top, trying to appear a bit more like those stubborn girls.

He stared at her for a while, while she stubbornly stood there.

Fwip!

He threw the light paper like a rock towards Lucien, who caught it effortlessly.

"You are dismissed, Cadet Selene."

He turned around, and this ti, Selene just obediently left.

Gary joined the other students instantly and shouted, "Continue the training, no slacking off."

Just then, the door was opened again.

Everyone looked there once again, expecting the breathtaking Selene to walk through.

Tsk!

Many guys clicked their tongues when they saw a red-haired guy arrive.

"Did I miss sothing?" He spoke dazedly, looking at everyone’s face.

"50 laps, right now, Cadet William."

Gary shouted, confusing William even more.

"I..." William wanted to say anything, but looking at his stern expression and the other candidates running around, he had no choice but to obey.

"As you wish, Professor."

Lucien put the paper inside the pocket.

He decided to open it after the class in peace.

For now, he had to practice his footwork.

Everyone started, but he was super slow.

The pace of the sorcerers.

The technique required him to focus on the weight distribution, which would have to be perfectly even.

He had to cushion his footfalls purposely, maintain perfect balance, and consciously control every muscle in his legs.

’This is going to be hard.’

He grumbled inside, but didn’t let anything show.

He repeated the sa thing constantly throughout the class, while others either continued the punishnt or practiced their own stuff.

"That’s it, everybody, your classes for today are dismissed." He shouted as people finally stopped to look at him.

"Your course mandatory subjects will start from tomorrow, and you will receive a notification to choose your electives in the next seven days."

He looked around, making sure everyone was listening before he continued, "Choosing at least one elective is mandatory, and you can choose at most 3. Make sure to put so thought behind it, since you would be stuck in them for the rest of the sester."

"You will receive the subject list on the school computer. That’s all."

Finishing his speech, Gary turned around and left at once.

Students started murmuring amongst each other, discussing their days.

It only lasted 4 hours, but they were hectic to say the least.

The change of pace from before was anything but normal.

It was nothing like the schools.

And there was also this exciting fight between the Prince and Janet.

While they were discussing everything, Lucien instantly took out the paper Selene had passed to him and read it before William arrived.

[Call , 408-718-7xxx. Let’s go on a walk outside.]

"Lucien!" William called from behind, and Lucien pocketed the piece of paper.

"Hmm?" He turned around and noticed William walking towards him, sweating like a pig.

William was inching closer to Lucien.

"Stop right there." He ordered. "Don’t touch with those sweaty hands."

"Huh?" William was confused, looking at Lucien was equally as sweaty as him.

"Dude, but you are sweaty too."

"Stop forcing your fetishes on ."

"Dude..." William’s mouth was agape.

"Anyways, do you wanna go outside? There’s a mixer set by so socialites from Solstice."

Lucien shook his head in disappointnt, hearing William’s words.

Mixers on the first day?

"Aren’t you also one of those?" Lucien asked, knowing a bit about William.

"I am from Solstice, but I’m not a high-profile socialite like them."

He answered.

Even though he was an extrovert, William had a hard ti making friends.

Lucien could tell why.

"Doesn’t your father own a guild there?"

"It’s just a Gold-ranked guild," William stated as if he were poor, which was not true.

There were five ranks of guilds, ranked based on their influence and power.

Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and finally, the Obsidian rank.

There were only five tbsidian-ranked guilds in the entire world, and they were considered powerhouses on par with a small nation.

Diamond-ranked guilds were also powerhouses on the level of counties, and were also rare, only present in big tropolitan cities.

So, more often than not, the Gold-ranked guilds were the regional powers, which was why William’s background was nothing to scoff at.

Only here, in one of the best academies of the entire world, was it not considered impressive.

"Pass," Lucien spoke, waving him off.

They both started walking towards the exit, as William ran to catch up to him.

"Why?" He wanted to ask for the reason, but his eyes imdiately widened in realization. "Oh, yeah, you have a fiancée."

"And a plan with her today," Lucien added, exiting the doors.

"Lucky you," William sounded dejected, "I saw her photos online. She was so–"

William paused, looking at Lucien, who suddenly paused and looked at him with a calm look. "Go on!"

"...Pretty," William replied very slowly.

"That’s what I thought." Lucien nodded and continued his way back.

Outside the building, they both separated, since William wasn’t ranked high enough to be in the Elite dormitory like Lucien.

’I should not make her wait too much.’
