She had long been aware of this craving, continuously eating ash bread to suppress it.

"Let’s wait for Miss Avril to arrive first."

Chu Yi had other plans. Holding the Furnace of Life with only Albert present wasn’t enough; he intended to summon the Celestial Tribulation to strike down an entire group of people.

Suddenly, he had a flash of insight, as if realizing sothing, and said, "My Pet Beast is about to evolve."

The Furnace of Life erupted with a dense stream of essence, like a shower of intense light, bathing Chu Yi in its glow.

"Ah?" Mu Yun was taken aback.

BOOM—

Soon, almost the next mont this thought occurred to him, powerful auras suddenly materialized out of thin air. These were the powerhouses catching up from behind, though they were not from the Blood Race.

Hong Yu and Andre.

These two, instead of slaughtering each other, had co together and evidently had so dealings with Albert. Avril and the others hadn’t arrived, most likely due to the machinations of these two.

It was very simple. Simply triggering Avril’s fairytale pollution would throw the Blood Race into disarray and slow their advance. No matter how important the Divine War ga was, it couldn’t compare to Avril’s personal safety.

Albert didn’t hide anything. Upon learning that Chu Yi had taken the Furnace of Life, the expressions of Hong Yu and Andre changed.

"Little brother, give the Furnace to your sister," Hong Yu’s eyes were sultry, her gaze entrancing. Beneath her beautiful head, however, was a grotesque amalgamation of countless limbs and flesh. Myriad mouths on this monstrous body opened in unison, releasing a dull roar, "Beco one with your sister! Experience the realm of ultimate bliss!"

For the Rose School, this Furnace of Life was precisely what they needed to solve a host of problems; the benefits were unimaginable.

Andre glanced in surprise at the two figures beneath the Dragon Claw. Without a word, he urged his Pet Beast to attack.

BAM!

The battle between the two sides erupted.

Mu Yun was beaten back, forced to once again use her ability to extinguish the Fire of Life to repel their powerful enemies. She then pulled Chu Yi with her as they retreated.

"PFFT!"

A Skeleton Flying Dragon raked its claws across Mu Yun’s thigh, leaving a deep gash. Countless curses erupted from the wound simultaneously. Spiteful human faces protruded from her leg, draining her strength and afflicting her with a debilitating curse.

The purple-haired Female Werewolf’s eyes lit up. She detonated the void, causing a mist of blood to explode from Mu Yun’s hand, though it quickly healed thanks to her Dragon Race physique.

Hong Yu sneered as countless beautiful yet grotesque heads made of flesh lunged like beasts, biting down on Mu Yun’s limbs.

This Dragon Maiden was truly foolish. Even now, she was still protecting that human. Who knew what she was thinking?

"Get lost!"

Mu Yun’s War Skirt shattered. She slamd onto one knee, creating a deep pit in the ground. With a fist wrapped in erald Dragon Scale, she shattered the grotesque creatures, her body enveloped in an astonishing aura.

She rose, stubbornly positioning herself in front of Chu Yi. Despite her disheveled state, her heroic and stunningly beautiful face remained unconcealed.

At this mont, the surrounding void twisted, and a gale arose, lifting her lustrous, dark green hair, lending her an elegant beauty.

She tilted her head, glaring fiercely at Chu Yi. Her jade-like neck lifted as she said arrogantly, "I told you, the great Dragon Witch never mistreats her benefactor. For the favor of a single al, you’ve profited greatly."

The next mont, she opened her mouth wide. A powerful suction surged forth, and spiraling air currents ford a Dragon’s Mark tens of ters wide, from which a massive dragon head erged.

Gold Dragon Horns, Erald Scales, Dark Gold Dragon Pupil...

"Not good!" Hong Yu and Andre were shocked, sensing a heart-palpitating oppression, and imdiately retreated explosively.

This was one of the twelve Dragons of the End: the Jade Dragon, ruler of life and the wilds!

Its Dark Gold Dragon Pupil opened, fixing on the enemies in its sight. It opened its great mouth, and a pillar of energy capable of extinguishing the Fire of Life roared forth!

This pillar of energy was even more grand and magnificent than the one previously used against the Wind God Wolf. It resembled a snow-white waterfall rushing forward, its power comparable to a peak strike from a Dawn Star expert.

BOOM—

Hong Yu’s fortress-like body of flesh was engulfed by the white waterfall. It resembled black and white lines from a comic that had lost all color, scattering and shattering.

Andre sacrificed the Skeleton Monarch, forming a bone wall as large as a city gate to block the terrifying strike. The wall was instantly riddled with cracks.

The pillar of energy swept through, piercing a path from the Golden Tree Heart straight to the outside!

Mu Yun’s delicate body swayed, her vision blurred, and a profound exhaustion washed over her. This technique of extinguishing the Fire of Life drained her very essence. After using it this ti, she would fall into a deep slumber.

Heh. To go to such lengths for a person I’ve known for less than half a day... What a loss. Next ti, the price must definitely go up.

Mu Yun let out a self-mocking laugh, allowing darkness to swallow her vision as she slowly fell.

Suddenly, instead of the hard floor she expected, she fell into a youth’s embrace.

The youth moved like lightning. He gently pried open her pink lips, revealing pearly white teeth and a small, jade-like pink tongue. He tossed a delicate pastry, imbued with a strange aura, directly into her mouth.

"MMM!"

The dazed Dragon Maiden was stunned. The action was so abrupt that she couldn’t react. Is this an illusion?

She widened her eyes, gazing at the handso face just inches away. She was dazed for a mont, then a flush of sha crept into her moon-like, dark-gold eyes.

"Mmm, what did you feed ... It’s so sweet! Is there more?" The Dragon Maiden, who had been on the verge of anger, felt her eyes brighten. She licked her pink lips, which were like rose petals coated with dew—lush and inviting.

Chu Yi was briefly stunned; those soft, pink lips, along with the slightly charming deanor of the Dragon Maiden at this mont, were inexplicably alluring.

"Leave the rest to ," Chu Yi said, calming himself. He helped her up and handed her a pile of one-star delicacies he had casually prepared.

"You can’t handle this..." Mu Yun was taken aback. She grabbed his hand, but her slender arm went limp; she was very weak from consuming her essence.

She stared blankly at the solitary and proud figure of the youth, who stood before her holding the blazing Furnace of Life.

"Everyone," Chu Yi called out, raising the Furnace of Life, "you’ve been watching long enough. Aren’t you going to co out?"

Yet no one ca to seize it.

BOOM!

"As expected of the Jade Dragon’s descendant, her bloodline truly is extraordinary," Hong Yu, whose Fire of Life had been scattered, reappeared amidst dancing roses. Each petal was like a piece of flesh, coalescing to form an indescribably grotesque woman who cackled. "If we could collect a bit, perhaps we could solve so problems."

"Hmph." Andre climbed out of a Bone Coffin and once more summoned his Pet Beasts. His expression was cold as he stared at Chu Yi.

"Fighting is so aningless," German said, holding a hunting rifle in one hand and a Brush Scythe in the other as he slowly erged from the shadows. "Let’s talk instead and reduce unnecessary casualties." He had been biding his ti, conserving his strength and waiting for an opportunity.

At this mont, William and another Blood Race mber hurriedly flew out from the darkness. However, their bodies were grotesquely changed: their noses had beco garlic-like, their mouths resembled a frog’s, and their arms had turned to straw—they had been polluted by Avril’s fairytale rules. The other Blood Race mbers were busy tending to Avril, whose pollution had spiraled out of control.

"Chu Yi, quickly hand over the Furnace of Life to us!" William exclaid, both surprised and delighted. He hadn’t expected this human youth to be so fortunate as to obtain the real Furnace of Life. "Miss Avril will reward you greatly! The great Progenitor blesses us!"

Chu Yi remained silent. He could sense that everyone here harbored ill intentions towards him.

"Here’s so good news for you," Chu Yi said, his eyes lighting up, his gaze burning as he stared into the sky. "My Pet Beast has evolved."

The gray sky, with dark clouds churning, devoured the last glimr of daylight. A heavy curtain fell, as if a great calamity was brewing. Dark clouds tumbled, and violet-blue lightning snaked through them like pythons, swirling restlessly. This brewing disaster illuminated the stunned expressions of everyone present.

"What?"

...

「White Tower.」

"The Furnace of Life was actually obtained by this kid?! How did he discover it?"

"This... this is unbelievable!"

"Even if he got it, how can he, a human, keep it safe?!"

"..."

The factions were abuzz with discussion. The King’s Contest would be declared over by the gods. It all depended on whose hands the Furnace of Life fell into, for they would beco the true king and receive the gods’ blessing.

Chen Xi’s eyes narrowed as she stared at the image on the screen, where the youth was personally feeding the Dragon Maiden pastries. Her expression turned slightly colder.
