While Michelle had her eyes closed, a small L-shape started forming.
Alexander ca closer to look at it, but he couldn’t recognize it. That just convinced him that Michelle was creating sothing from her past life.
When Michelle finally opened her eyes, she reached out and grabbed the thing she had created. She was satisfied with what it looked like.
It was small, barely the size of her hand, the L-shape ending in a slight narrowing so it could nicely fit between lips.
On the other side was peeking out a tallic end, which could be pressed down a bit.
"What’s that for?" Alexander asked.
Michelle shook the little thing before opening the bottom. "Open your mouth a bit!" She placed the L-shape onto Alexander’s palm.
Alexander raised an eyebrow. Did that an that if Michelle just showed him, he wouldn’t understand it? So she decided to let him experience it himself.
He opened his mouth slightly.
"Put the short part between your lips and press on the other end," Michelle instructed.
Alexander did as he was told, and his eyes widened when he felt a gust of wind enter his mind. It was like a quick shot splashing against the back of his mouth.
After using it, Alexander returned it to Michelle. "What use does it have?"
"Well..." Michelle started. "I just ca up with it. It’s inspired by an asthmatic spray. That was a small device containing dicine for people who had trouble breathing when having an episode. If they inhaled while using the spray, it made their breathing easier."
"And what is your device used for?" Alexander asked.
Michelle shrugged her shoulders. "I will add either poison or dicine that should be inhaled into it and use it to administer it."
"And how do you plan to do that? There’s no opening." Alexander was a bit skeptical.
With a wave of Michelle’s hand, the spray disappeared. Then, she took out the last bottle of poison Mavreth had given her. Once again, it was in the shape of pills, but Mavreth had already told her beforehand that it should be inhaled.
That was one of the reasons she created the inhaler. She wanted to see if she could use it on the poison.
Taking out a single pill, she put away the rest and focused on the pill. She wrapped shadow essence around it and started repeating the process of creating the inhaler.
Closing her eyes, it felt a bit strange when the cloud of shadow essence gathered on her fingers.
Before, she did it in mid-air, but because she wanted to add the poison pill into it, she had to do it around the pill. And the pill couldn’t just float, so she had to hold it.
Alexander watched with great interest as the L-shape ford in front of him again. Even though he saw the process, he understood he would never be able to create it himself. Because he didn’t understand how the little thing worked.
If Michelle let him take it apart and put it back together, he could understand it. But just from watching how it was created wasn’t enough to let him understand.
When the spray was once again in Michelle’s hands, she shook it a bit. She was worried that the pill inside would remain in a solid state, and she wouldn’t be able to spray it out.
While she was creating the spray, she crashed repeatedly with her shadow essence into the pill, hoping to break it apart. But she didn’t yet have it confird whether it worked.
When no loud sound ca from the spray even when Michelle shook it, she was quite relieved. But that could still an the pill was stuck in place and didn’t make a sound.
The best way to find out was to use the spray.
So, Michelle exhaled fully, put the spray to her mouth, and started slowly inhaling as she pressed down on the tallic end with her index finger.
Air flew out of the spray, along with small particles. It passed through Michelle’s airways as she breathed in and went to her lungs.
Michelle let the spray disperse into shadow essence and sat down on the ground. She was curious about how the poison would work. Mavreth didn’t tell her anything other than that it should be inhaled.
The effects showed a while later, making Michelle grimace. Even though her airways were perfectly fine, she felt short of breath.
She had seen cases like that in her past life. When fire didn’t have enough oxygen, it would start creating CO, an odorless gas. After being breathed in, the victim wouldn’t notice it until it connected to the hemoglobin in their blood.
After the CO gets bound to it, oxygen can no longer break the bond and connect to the hemoglobin. So even though the victim keeps breathing, the oxygen doesn’t get transported to vital organs.
If just a bit of CO is inhaled, the victim would be fine. Just for a while, they will be short of breath. But after a while, the infected blood cells would get replaced by new ones, and they would return to normal.
But if they breathed in too much, they would die without prompt dical care.
After inhaling the poison, Michelle felt like a patient who had inhaled CO. But she doubted that was the case. What Mavreth gave her just had similar, nearly the sa effect.
"Damn, I hope it won’t kill ..." Michelle muttered. If she wanted to, she could drive the poison out of her blood using her spirit energy, but she wanted to see the full extent of its power. Was it enough to kill her?
Lying down on the ground, she stopped moving. Without unnecessary movent, she could concentrate better.
Though she was short of breath, she felt that so oxygen was still going into her blood.
The dose Mavreth gave her wasn’t lethal. So she didn’t have to worry about anything. Her body would get better on its own in a while.
Or so she hoped.
"How long are you planning to lay there like a corpse?" Alexander finally asked when Michelle had been lying on the ground for a good few hours. The sun was about to rise.
Michelle frowned a bit. It seed her body couldn’t cure itself. And that was even when she had exceptional healing abilities.
That could an only one thing. Her body had been fooled. It didn’t detect that there was sothing wrong in its own system.
"I like this one!" Michelle showed a bright smile as she sat up. Then, she started moving her spirit energy. She had it burst around her veins at high speed, pushing the blood around.
Normally, that would be suicide. There would be no way for the blood cells to survive that; they would start falling apart before they were supposed to.
But Michelle wanted exactly that. She wanted her veins to fill up with dead blood cells.
Then, she just waited. For new blood to generate in her body.
Normally, it wouldn’t happen so easily, but after the rush of spirit blood, all her body’s features had sped up. Also, the body finally realized sothing was wrong with it and started healing itself.
In the mont that Michelle’s blood cells started dying, Michelle felt choked. There was barely any blood to carry the oxygen.
But her healing capabilities saved her. The body noticed it was suddenly lacking blood and quickly made up for it.
Anyone else would have been in deep trouble if soone used a thod like that on them, but Michelle was fine. She had the advantage of having Spirit Soul Blood.
Alexander shook his head as he stared at Michelle. "You will get yourself killed one day..." But he couldn’t conceal the smile tugging on the corner of his lips.
Michelle stood up. "Then at least I’ll be the one to choose how I die!" She clearly didn’t care much about the danger. Just one wrong move and she could have ended up dead. But she was calm and careless about it.
Alexander grabbed Michelle by her shoulder and pulled her close to him. He did it so quickly that her body crashed into his chest. "If you plan to die, don’t do it in front of ..." he lowered his head as he spoke. Then, without caring how Michelle felt, he opened his mouth and bit her neck.
Michelle frowned. Even though she regularly put herself through pain to test poisons, she didn’t like pain.
An ice needle ford in her hand. The next mont, she was about to stab it into Alexander’s neck.
But he reacted quicker than she expected. Putting more force into his jaw, he lifted his hand and grabbed Michelle’s wrist, not letting her stab him. He knew what she was planning. She wanted to paralyze him for a while.
Not liking that Alexander had seen through her, Michelle sent spirit energy into her wrist.
Then, before Alexander could react, she sent the spirit energy out.
Alexander’s palm wrapped around Michelle’s wrist was stabbed through with ice spikes all over.
