Under the starlight, an eerie atmosphere perated.

"It should be a defense formation," Yu Xiu analyzed:

"Back then, to infiltrate here, I did quite a bit of howork. La Garden is the forbidden land of the Liao Clan, and it’s inherently set up with arrays to prevent intruders.

After all, the Evil God mostly slumbers in the deepest part of La Garden. If external intruders only enter the periphery and not the core, Great La Ba won’t be disturbed. So, this array is ant to deter intruders."

Zhao Douan wasn’t surprised, frowned, and said:

"What danger does this formation pose?"

"I don’t know." Yu Xiu replied honestly, then, looking at Zhao’s dazed expression, continued logically:

"I sneaked in during the sacrificial ceremony, never forced my way through, how would I know?"

"..." Zhao Douan sighed, walked to the towering fence, and rubbed his chin:

"Then we’ll have to deal with it as it cos. Let’s head in first."

The two won exchanged a glance: "Okay!"

The three vaulted over the fence almost simultaneously, landing inside La Garden.

Did this outer wall have no dangers? Zhao Douan felt relieved!

The plants within the garden were lush, with main paths and smaller trails intertwined in complexity, under a weak starlight, shrouding La Garden in a veil of darkness.

Ahead of them was a winding stone path stretching into the depths of La Garden.

They didn’t know where they were in the garden, so they stepped onto the path, continually switching routes, heading deeper.

"Rustle—"

In the night wind, Zhao Douan noticed that the garden showed clear signs of design, with many "fences" similar to the outer wall lining the paths.

There weren’t many outside, but as they journeyed further in, they encountered more.

"Seems not so dangerous."

Jin Jian nervously clutched her magic wand, walking for so ti without encountering any danger, the entire garden eerily quiet, absent of insects, only the sound of their footsteps and breathing.

"Sothing’s wrong!" As the trio took a turn onto yet another path, Zhao Douan abruptly halted, staring at the chaotic footprints ahead with an unpleasant expression:

"We’ve circled back! We’ve walked this way before!"

What?

The two won startled, examining closely; indeed, they’d been here before.

Yu Xiu took out the compass, watching the needle spin wildly, she exhaled silently:

"The compass is malfunctioning. Looks like we’re lost."

How could cultivators get lost?

Thus, the truth is, without their awareness, the outer array had misled them, making them think they were progressing while rely tracing circles.

"It’s not rely being lost, these fences are also peculiar."

Zhao Douan crouched down, dug up so soil that had been brushed over with his hand, his gaze heavy:

"I suspect these fences can move, continually altering the paths beneath our feet."

Yu Xiu nodded, agreeing with this judgnt, saying:

"Maybe we can forcefully leap over the fences."

She leaped, but just a yard up, was firmly suppressed back to the ground by a gentle force.

"This place forbids us from flying!"

Yu Xiu’s expression shifted slightly, then she pressed her fingers together as if forming a sword, thrusting towards the fence ahead!

"Whoosh!"

The jade flying sword sank into the fence, and then, to the trio’s horror, an astonishing scene unfolded:

The sword should have flown forward but ca out from the fence behind them!

"Trouble!" Yu Xiu’s face beca entirely somber:

"We’re trapped. I’m afraid even trying to exit now might be impossible, unless Jin Jian tries teleportation."

Zhao Douan shook his head in denial:

"This place definitely hides lethal traps; teleportation won’t guarantee where you’ll end up."

"So what do we do? We have no ti to waste!"

Yu Xiu’s pale face was marked with urgency.

"Wait for a mont."

Zhao Douan pondered briefly before closing his eyes, silently calling out to Pei Niannu in his mind.

Soon, under the astonished gazes of the two won, red threads erged from Zhao Douan’s body.

In the serene night, an ancient figure clad in a red wedding dress appeared, donning a dark golden mask, holding a balance beam.

"This is Senior Pei," Zhao Douan introduced voluntarily.

Is she Pei Niannu?

Yu Xiu and Jin Jian exchanged a glance. Having stayed by Zhao Douan’s side for quite so ti, they sowhat knew Zhao Douan could visualize an ancient cultivator.

Hmm... difficult to comprehend, but the won’s developed nerves quickly accepted the existence of the female sorcerer.

"The situation is this..." Zhao Douan swiftly explained the circumstances, earnestly asking:

"Senior, do you know La Garden? Are you aware of how to delve deeper?"

He hoped the female sorcerer could provide guidance.

Pei Niannu’s gaze, deep and profound, surveyed the quiet garden with a reminiscent air appearing in her eyes:

"The deep slumber of Great La Ba...I did indeed enter here back in the day."

Really possible?

The trio’s eyes all showed delight.

But quickly, Pei Niannu’s next sentence plunged them to despair:

"However, hundreds of years have passed, the world changes, this place isn’t as it was then. How could an array remain unchanged for centuries? Would you buy a house and not change the locks for decades, not fearing that soone might crack it and co and go freely?"

Zhao Douan opened his mouth, speechless.

So, the thod you hold for entry is outdated...what use are you!

Zhao Douan was utterly disappointed.

As the group exchanged silent looks, Jin Jian, who had been quiet beside them, suddenly spoke: "Stars."

"What?" Three faces simultaneously turned to the young priestess.

Jin Jian, raising her face, gazed quietly at the night sky, the glasses with crystalline lenses reflecting faint starlight.

She murmured: "Stars can guide the way."

Zhao Douan was montarily taken aback, then his eyes suddenly shone bright!
