Hai Tang was startled.

“Your Highness,” he said with a warm, bright smile, “may I have your permission?”
Situ Jiuyue didn’t know how to respond until she saw Xue Zhao’s hand on his leg, clenched into a fist and slightly trembling. His ears were very red, betraying his nervousness. Like a gentle beast, he revealed his vulnerability, laying his furry head in the lap of the hunter. Even the coldest and most ruthless of hunters would be moved.
It was enough to make one incapable of refusal.
Besides, she didn’t want to refuse.
This was not a good idea; there might be endless troubles in the future, yet suddenly, she also wanted to act on impulse for once. After living cautiously for over a decade, to have soone to share the burdens with, especially soone she liked.
She would not shy away from her own feelings nor betray the sincerity of the one she cherished.
