Chapter 275 - I will wait
Birds chirped outside, waking up the couple inside the stone cottage.
Lu Xingyan felt strong arms, embracing her protectively. When she looked at the owner's face, she felt her cheeks heat up upon rembering the heated night they almost shared. It all felt like a dream... A dream she hoped that the man would forget. It was already embarrassing just by thinking of it.
She tried to squirm out of his arms but failed and instead, she ended up waking up the man hugging her.
His lashes fluttered like bu??erfly wings as he slowly opened his eyes. His pupils landed on her red face.
"You're awake." His deep voice reverberated in his ?h?st.
"It's the morning..." She muttered.
When the man finally released her, she quickly sat up and grabbed her dry clothes, and wore them. "We should head back."
He quietly watched her from behind. He already caught a glimpse of her flawless skin. It only tempted him to touch her, feel it against his rough palms but no, he has to hold back.
"You should go ahead. You know the way back, right?" He asked as he slowly sat down. His eyes landed on his morning wood. He took his shirt and covered the bulge before she could even notice it.
"I guess so..." She mumbled. "Won't you be coming with ?"
"I don't think your father will like it if he learned that you spent the night with ."
"Ah..." That was quite correct. She knew how protective her father was towards his daughters. "Then I guess I'll be going ahead." She said while straightening her blouse. After doing so, she finally stood up. She inhaled deeply, gathering the courage to face him. She did quite a stunt on trying to seduce him after all.
"I'll see you later then," she said, averting her eyes from him when she faced him.
"Hn."
She was hesitant to leave. She tried to fix her bed hair, making sure that she didn't look weird the mont she stepped out of the cottage. She inhaled deeply once again and exhaled heavily.
Lu Xingyan began walking towards the door. She was about to step out but was stopped when she heard Han Xukun's voice from behind.
"I'm going to wait for you."
She didn't have to rack her brain just to think of what he ant by his words. It was an easy and simple statent that made her smile grow on her lips. She couldn't suppress it at all. Why was she feeling so excited all of a sudden? It was not like that had sothing going on between them.
"Then wait until I graduate," she replied without turning back to him.
"I will wait no matter how long it takes."
They were not in love with each other but… it was a start. Maybe sothing more?
With that, Lu Xingyan left the place without saying another word to him.

Back at the mansion, she noticed servants looking all so panicked as they were frantically looking for sothing- no it was more like soone.
The mont they saw her, their faces brightened in relief.
"She's here!"
"Quick, call Master Lu and let him know that she's safe!"
A maid with a worried look on her face rushed to her side. "Miss Lu, where have you been? Your father and everyone have been looking for you since earlier!"
"I… just went for a morning walk…" her nose twitched at her lie but the maid was oblivious of it.
"You should have at least told soone and brought an escort." No, this didn't co from the maid who was talking to her.
Lu Xingyan turned to the owner's voice and saw her father walking towards them. In the next second, she was pulled into his embrace. "Don't scare like that, Xing'er."
Her shoulders relaxed when she felt her father's warmth. It was so different from the warmth Han Xukun gave her. Was it because one was a family mber and the other person was… a man she was attracted to? She shouldn't compare.
"I'm sorry, dad. It won't happen again," she said, being the good girl that she was. She arched her neck to level her sight on his face. With a small smile, she continued, "I will let you know first next ti."
Lu Yifeng couldn't help but sigh helplessly. It was not like he could scold her that ti. "Do you want to join us for breakfast?"
She lightly shook her head. She was going to see Han Xukun by then and if she did, she might not be able to suppress the emotions on her face. Her dad would definitely know that sothing happened between them with just one look. Lu Xingyan was not going to allow her father to find out.
"I'm tired… is it okay to have my breakfast in my room instead?"
"Of course." Her father turned to the maid who was standing nearby and notified her, "my daughter will be eating in her room."
"I should go back now, dad." She pulled away from the hug and flashed him a small, tired smile. It was not like she had an uncomfortable night. In fact, she felt too comfortable to sleep in Han Xukun's arms. She only had to put on a small act in front of her father.
"If you need anything, let know about it, okay?" He gently patted her head before finally letting her go.
"Of course."
