Lu Yifeng was surprised by the the kiss she gave him. He never expected her to do that because of the current relationship they have.

"You’re my wife." He cupped her cheek as lips curled up. "It’s my job to shower you with love."

She gently smiled at him when she heard him say that. For so reason, she felt happy that she was able to encounter this kind Lu Yifeng. The Lu Yifeng in her past was horrible but if she continued to be with this gentle Lu Yifeng, then those horrible tis can be replaced, right?

She rested her head on his chest and closed her eyes. "Good night, Yifeng."

"Good night." He kissed the top of her head before closing his eyes

They may not be able to change the past but they can always do sothing to have a better future.

"You’re going to Italy?" Xia ilin asked in surprise.

"It’ll be just for a couple of days. I have a business to attend there." Lu Yifeng said from the other line of the call.

Xia ilin let out a heavy sigh. "So it’s a business trip... Can I stay with my grandparents while you’re away?"

"Yes, it will be better if you did. At least your grandma can look after you while I’m gone. You and our son can stay with them."

She pursed her lips. "Are you going to pass by here?"

"Yes, I’m on my way now."

"Okay. I’ll go prepare your things then."

"Thank you." He said softly.

After thr call ended, Xia ilin went to pack so clothes for Lu Yifeng.

Ever since that night, Xia ilin started getting comfortable with his presence. Every night, Lu Yifeng would knock on her door and ask to sleep with her. Because of that, she decided to move back to his room.

At first she was nervous and worried because of the past mories that might haunt her when she was in his room, but she was able to be at ease because of Lu Yifeng’s help. He never stopped treating her well and because of this, she started trusting him.

While she was packing his things, she suddenly saw a folder in between the folded shirts of Lu Yifeng. She opened it and saw that it was the copy of the new contract they had.

After reading it, she couldn’t help but smile. She recalled the ti where they renewing their contract together. At that ti, he was being really clingy while he was trying to convince her with sex. Now that she thought about it, he never forced her once on bed. Instead, he manipulated her in it.

That crafty Lu Yifeng was able to convince her to do it with him. As long as he was able to get a permission from her, it doesn’t matter if he tried manipulating her through it.

"I’m back."

Shw kept back the file on where the place she found it before she turned to him. He may be treating her kindly but she knows that he’s good at manipulating soone to his will. He’s doing the sa to her, right? Was his kindness just an act? If so then he better not let her catch him.

"What’s wrong?" Lu Yifeng asked as he walked towards her. He noticed that she was in a deep thought while she was staring at him.

"Lu Yifeng... are you really a good man?"

He blinked a few tis when he heard her question. Was she still doubting him?

He sighed. Xia ilin was so unpredictable. One mont she was sweet with him, the next mont she was angry. Won are really complicated creatures. He was glad that he was able to beco patient for her, if it was his past self, he might have snapped out the mont she got angry at him.

"I am not a good person, ilin." He honestly said.

She narrowed her eyes as she looked at him. "So... you’ve been deceiving the whole ti?"

"No. I’m not." He sighed. How can she twist his words like that? "I’ve been telling you so many tis that you’re my wife, you’re the woman I love, that’s why even if it’s just in your eyes, I am trying to be good. I’m not perfect, I have my desires as a man, but those desires are only for you, ilin. I have my own faults, I have committed countless of sins, sins that cannot be forgiven." He looked at his hands. "These hands have taken countless of lives. Including the life of soone I once cared and loved."

He once cared and loved? Did he love soone else? Thinking that he might have loved soone else before, Xia ilin can feel sothing pricking her heart.

He looked at her with a pained smile in his lips, his eyes full of sadness. "I’m not perfect. All I want is to be good enough for the woman I love. I want to be a good husband and a good father for you and our children. I don’t care what others think of . I only care of what you and our son thinks of . I want to be a better person for our family."

Xia ilin lowered her head in guilt. How can she doubt him? Because of this, she ended up hurting him. She held his hands and gave it a squeeze. "I’m sorry, Yifeng."

"It’s alright. I have told you that you can ask anything and I will answer it honestly, right?" He leaned and kissed her forehead.

"Mm. It’s also written in our contract that we should be honest with each other." She raised her head and stared at him.

His lips curled up. "Can I add another new agreent in our contract?"

She blinked a few tis. "A new one? What is it about?"

"If we ever fight or have a disagreent in the future, let’s end it within the sa day." He placed his hand on her bloated tummy.

"Within the sa day?" She chuckled. "Is that possible?"

"Yes. We are not allowed to sleep with a heavy heart against each other." He smiled gently. "If one of us will break that contract then... what will be our punishnt?"

"Let’s lock ourselves in one room until we make up with each other." She grinned.

He laughed lightly while rubbing her tummy, "That’s a good idea."
