"Are you sure you don’t want to go to the hospital?" Lu Yifeng asked as he watched his wife eat another slice of the toffee apple cake.
"You worry too much, Yifeng. I’m really fine. I just feel hungry again after vomiting out the food I ate earlier." Xia ilin said before she continued eating.
Lu Yifeng sighed at how easygoing his wife was.
"Oh yeah, before I forget. Xiao Gua’s school is inviting us to attend the parental activity that they will be having next week." Xia ilin said with a smile.
"A parental activity?"
"Yes, it’s going to be Xiao Gua’s first parental activity in that school. It has a camping the, so we will be going camping for two nights and three days. Are you available next week?"
"Yes, I am." Lu Yifeng said without any hesitation. Even though he will be having a departnt eting and a et-up with the President of the Wang corporation, it wasn’t as important as his family. Besides, Lu Xian Yu is currently around the city so he can just use his twin brother to attend every appointnt that was scheduled next week.
"Are you sure that you’re that free next week?" Xia ilin couldn’t believe it. She knows how busy Lu Yifeng was. To skip his work for three days, will that be alright?
"I will let my brother handle the business next week."
Xia ilin couldn’t help but smile happily at what he said. No wonder he was fine with missing his work for three days. "Then both of us will go. I guess we will have to trouble brother Xian Yu next week."
She was glad to know that Lu Yifeng was going to attend the parental activity with her. This will be another first for them as a family.
Lu Yifeng waited for her to finish the food before he paid for their orders.
"Don’t forget to visit us again, Xiao i. You should invite Xiao Bing next ti." Chie smiled, hugging a tray.
Xia ilin nodded and smiled back at her. "Okay. See you later."
She clung on Lu Yifeng’s arm before they started walking in the crowded street.
Though while they were walking, Xia ilin stopped when soone suddenly caught her attention.
There was a beautiful middle-aged woman standing a few ters away from her. The woman was dressed in an office attire and she was talking with a tall foreigner. For so reason, that woman looked so familiar to Xia ilin.
Xia ilin instantly let go of Lu Yifeng’s arm as she starts walking towards the woman.
"ilin?" Lu Yifeng quickly tried following his wife but since it was crowded, he was having a hard ti in squeezing himself through. His long legs increased their speed, trying to catch up to her.
Xia ilin shoves herself through the crowd but by the ti she arrived in the place where she saw that woman, there was no one. She looked around, searching for her and she was relieved when she saw the familiar back of the woman that was standing nearby.
She reached out and touched her shoulder. "Mom?"
The woman turned. "Excuse ?"
When Xia ilin saw her face she beca disappointed, "O-Oh... sorry. I have mistaken you for soone."
The woman ignored her and left her there.
Xia ilin covered her face with her hands. What was she thinking? Her mother was dead. She died in a car accident with her father, there’s no way that she can be alive. Xia ilin couldn’t rember anything about her mother since she was too young when her parents died but because of the family photos she saw in her grandparents’ house, Xia ilin knows how her mother looks like.
"Don’t run around."
Xia ilin turned and saw how displeased Lu Yifeng looked. "I’m sorry. I just thought I saw soone I know..."
She has mistaken soone like her mother. This must be because of her pregnancy, right? Her eyes started playing tricks on her.
Lu Yifeng notices how down Xia ilin suddenly beca. He was about to say sothing when he quickly noticed a silver reflection coming from a man that was walking towards Xia ilin.
"Let’s just go. Did you say that you still have a place to bring , right? We should-" Xia ilin paused when she felt that she was suddenly hugged by a strong body.
Xia ilin raised her head and looked at the face of the man who was hugging her, it was Lu Yifeng. "Darling?"
Lu Yifeng was glaring at the back of the hooded man that was now in a hurry to leave the place. When he heard his wife’s voice, he turned to her and touched her cheek, "Are you alright?"
Xia ilin frowned at his question. She felt that sothing was wrong with him. Why was he asking such a question? Looking aside, she saw red liquid oozing out of Lu Yifeng’s side.
She started panicking when she saw the blood, her eyes were instantly filled with tears. "Y-Yifeng? Wha... What happened? How... How did this..."
He beca pale as blood flowed down his sleeves. His sweater was drenched in blood.
Sucking in a deep breath, he tried his best to stand still on the ground. He felt his legs losing its strength, but seeing how scared and panicked Xia ilin looked like, he knows that he should not show her weakness, he needs to make her calm.
He pressed on his wound to try to stop the bleeding before he said, "Calm down... I’m okay. I’m okay, ilin. Calm down, don’t cry."
How could she remain calm when she can clearly see that he was hurt?
"He... Help! Help! Sobody call the ambulance!"
