Chapter 61: If She Wants It, Will You Give It?

Eve watched quietly for a long while, her face devoid of expression.

When she noticed the strand of red hair clinging to Vivian’s lips, she reached out and gently pinched it away, tucking it behind her ear.

That subtle touch disturbed the beauty still lingering in a light dream.

Vivian let out a soft, adorable whimper. Her eyelashes trembled as she slowly opened her eyes.

At first, she was rely adjusting to the indoor light, her pupils contracting. Then she beca aware of the warmth beside her, and after her vision focused, she saw the face near hers—calm, emotionless.

It was more effective than having cold water poured directly over her head. She was fully awake in an instant.

“Now that you’re awake, let go of !” Vivian frowned, attempting to push away the audacious maid before her.

Eve spoke, her tone as steady as ever. “My apologies, Young Miss. I have troubled you.”

Vivian snorted coldly and tried to twist her body free, only to discover that although Eve’s arms were not as tight as last night, there was still no intention of releasing her. That realization only fueled her irritation.

“You think one sentence solves everything? How wishful. Let go!”

When Eve remained unmoving, Vivian clenched her teeth and warned, “You had better not make

repeat myself a third ti…”

“I would like to hold you a little longer. May I?”

“…What?” Vivian froze for a mont, unsure whether she had misheard.

Eve did not repeat herself. Just as Vivian, flushed with embarrassnt and anger, was about to snap at her, Eve added calmly, “Young Miss, you said that as long as I wished to, I could.”

The mont those words fell, not only did she fail to loosen her grip, she drew her arms tighter instead, pulling Vivian more firmly into her embrace.

There was sothing deliberate in the gesture—clear in aning, leaving no room for resistance.

Vivian stiffened completely. She parted her lips, intending to rebuke her sharply, to lash out with harsher words, but nothing ca out.

It was true… There was no fault in that reasoning… She had said it, and Eve had rely followed through. Vivian would not stoop so low as to break her own word.

She turned her head to the side, refusing to look at Eve’s face.

A faint blush spread over the tips of her ears. As though irritated with herself, she clicked her tongue in annoyance and muttered viciously, “Unbelievable… You have not even beco a dog yet, and you are already learning to kill your master…”

Yet she did not struggle again, nor did she issue another command. Her body gradually relaxed, tacitly allowing the embrace to continue.

Eve maintained the posture, her gaze lingering on Vivian’s reddened ear. It did not move away for a long ti.

This feeling… was not bad at all.

As for holding a soft, fragrant young girl while sleeping, Eve felt she now had so authority to speak on the matter. It was novel—and dangerously addictive.

If one were to ask whether such intimate contact was appropriate—

She did not know.

She only knew that it felt comfortable. She had not thought that far ahead. In short, it was an unfamiliar experience, and she did not dislike it.

Though Eve was unwilling to admit it, she had to concede that it was rather pleasant. She liked it. She wanted there to be a next ti.

“Tch, do not hold

so tightly. I am not going to run!” Vivian shot her a sideways glare. With reddened cheeks, she shifted outward slightly, her tone a mixture of irritation and reluctant helplessness. “Explain yourself. What madness possessed you last night, you bastard?”

Eve had once claid that she did not lie. That, in truth, was a small lie as well.

“Young Miss, I was sleepwalking.”

“Are you treating

like an idiot? Who sleepwalks with their eyes open?!”

Eve fell silent for a few seconds. Without changing expression, without the slightest hint of guilt, she stated, “Everyone’s constitution is different. Mine is sowhat special. I hope Young Miss can understand.”

Vivian opened her mouth, then closed it again. She could not tell. She truly could not tell whether it was truth or deception. There was not a single flaw in her composure.

In the end, she chose to vent her frustration by pinching Eve hard at her chest. It was less an expression of anger and more a lack of better options—when words failed, she resorted to attack.

The result was negligible. Eve did not even flinch. Her physical resilience had already reached an absurd level.

After all, how else did Vivian think she had knocked herself unconscious by striking her own temple the night before?

“If I have offended Young Miss, I apologize.”

“Heh. Do you not think you have offended

enough already?”

“Then I retract my apology.”

“Is that what I ant?! Speak properly!”

Eve drew a slow breath, gathered her thoughts, then rapidly released every polite phrase she could muster. “I am sorry, Young Miss. You are perceptive and magnanimous, benevolent and rciful. If you could forgive my unintended offense, it would truly be—”

“Stop, stop!” Vivian cut her off at once. “That is disgusting. So hypocritical.”

It reminded her of those sanctimonious fools at social gatherings.

If Eve did not apologize, it was wrong. If she did, it was also wrong. For once, she was at a loss. Had she said sothing incorrect?

Hmm?

Lowering her head slightly, her gaze slipped—purely by accident—down along Vivian’s collarbone and further below, where the vivid hue beneath the straps of her nightdress ca into view.

The red buds beneath the close-fitting fabric were doing their utmost to prove their existence. Though small, the choice of clothing more than compensated for that fact.

I want to touch.

Despite the fierce expression still on Vivian’s face, Eve inexplicably sensed sothing like a wronged young wife shrinking at the head of a bed.

Vivian quickly noticed that Eve was no longer looking at her face. The next second, she understood exactly where that gaze had fallen. No wonder it felt as though ants were crawling across her skin.

She reached out and firmly tilted Eve’s chin upward, her small face creasing with disdain. “Could you not suppress yourself even this early in the morning?”

“Truly revolting. Does lusting after

bring you pleasure? Has anyone ever told you how lecherous you are? Hmm?”

Eve did not mind. It was not the first ti she had been insulted. On the contrary, she found that although Vivian’s scolding appeared fierce on the surface, with ti it seed to gain an invisible filter.

In truth, it was rather cute. She even wanted to hear her curse a few more tis—though that thought might be sowhat perverse.

“Compared to , Young Miss is hardly innocent.”

Had anyone else uttered such a sentence, the outco would have been entirely different. Vivian rely paused slightly before letting out a soft laugh instead of anger.

The hand pressing at Eve’s chin relaxed and slid to her cheek. She spoke gently, almost patiently, as though explaining—or perhaps complaining.

“Why do you think I dress like this? It is to make a certain soone who lacks self-awareness… realize the benefits of being a dog.”

“Who?”

“Tch. Do not pretend ignorance! Ungrateful!” Vivian’s expression shifted in an instant.

In short, she was displeased, yet had nowhere to vent it. The beauty before her maintained an utterly shaless composure, impervious to all tactics. It was infuriatingly difficult to deal with.

After a mont’s thought, Vivian gave up. Her red lips parted slightly. “That is enough. How long do you intend to keep holding ? Go fetch my clothes. The third piece from the left in the wardrobe. Do not take the wrong one.”

Before she even finished speaking, the covers were suddenly thrown aside. Cold air rushed over her body, and her toes curled reflexively. The temperature difference between day and night was still noticeable at this ti of year.

Goosebumps instantly rose along Vivian’s skin. “Could you not be gentler about it?!”
