"Hmm?"
In the distant universe, on the Heavenly Demon King’s Throne, the Prophet’s face suddenly changed and he sprang to his feet.
Despite his huge eyes, his lower body appeared extrely frail, making him a bit unsteady when standing. Yet, he shocked everyone; never before had anyone seen the Prophet beco so agitated. Even when Xing Tian made a mistake, he was as calm as a mountain!
"Master... Has sothing happened?"
For the first ti, a hint of bewildernt appeared in the Prophet’s enormous eyes.
Unforeseen events occurring one after another, what does this an?
Logically speaking, the system of the neighboring universe is fundantally different from theirs. Complete unification contrasts sharply with their divided universe. On their side, they’re a war machine, and over there, only the Main World where Chen Qing resides can resist, though it’s brimming with potential. Nevertheless, it can’t possibly challenge their scale, let alone when they combine forces to form a monstrous entity like the Queen.
There is no chance of winning; that is my judgnt. However... The predetermined future has once again changed.
Perhaps... I overlooked sothing?
-------------------------------------
"Hmm... Your gaze seems to have co alive."
The Queen watched the childlike figure before her with great interest, her curiosity growing.
Years ago, she indeed felt puzzled—what could make such a strong fellow fight desperately to protect, but rely a wasteful failure? She couldn’t comprehend it. She thought perhaps, upon seeing her power, he would despair and beco so downtrodden after returning. Yet, she disliked this. It took her billions of years to co to this world, a long and enduring ti, certainly not to settle petty matters.
"Chen Qing resisted you for twenty years?" Old Liu spoke directly.
"Chen Qing?" The Queen laughed imdiately. "An intriguing fellow, the only one I’ve encountered since becoming queen with whom I’ve truly engaged. Though his tactics are clever, he indeed managed to waver with . Even in our world, there hasn’t been anyone capable of limiting , yet here appeared soone who trapped for twenty years, genuinely surprising ."
"Is he dead?"
"Died two years ago." The Queen glanced at the heavens with a bit of sentintality. "When unable to capture him, it was quite irkso. Always felt that though this insect was incredibly weak, it’s constantly buzzing and yet elusive to grasp. Those tis were frustrating every day, wishing to nab him and tear him apart, but that fellow was especially slippery."
Hearing this, Old Liu smiled slightly. It seems, even facing absolute strength, Chen Qing still managed a way to maneuver around, though... Perhaps the ti given was too little!
"But once captured, it suddenly seed rather aningless." The Queen looked at Old Liu. "Why do you think that is?"
Old Liu looked at her, noticing she genuinely sought advice, with no trace of contempt or sarcasm.
Old Liu pondered for a while, finally saying, "Perhaps it’s because of loneliness."
"Loneliness? My kind numbers in the billions. Though we’re fewer due to strengthening reasons, I’m not exactly lonely."
"Loneliness is ntal; many people don’t necessarily overco it." Old Liu observed her. "Your loneliness stems from your strength, especially your rapid ascent. Forrly, every day had an upward goal, beating one person today, defeating another tomorrow; each day should have felt fulfilling. But once you’re invincible, it’s different. Without a goal, unable to rise further, and because you’ve consud excessive resources, maybe your universe no longer can support you with more resources, right?"
"Have you progressed at all after invading this universe?"
"What’s the point of progressing?" She smiled. "Stronger? There’s no scenery above."
"That’s the reason for your loneliness," Old Liu replied. "No scenery above, none below to chase you. Once the Main World is destroyed, you’ll have nothing left to do. You might wander freely, but such days, aren’t they dull?"
Queen: "....."
It seems... It might be so.
"Actually, I’m very curious!" Old Liu looked at her. "You possess imnsely terrifying energy, the product of half your universe’s nurturing, but when your mission is completed, how will your universe treat you? An immortal being, holding the greatest energy, your consumption is terrifying too, right? Would they restrict you to eternal slumber?"
"What do you an?"
"Don’t you understand my aning? Can you not feel it?"
The Queen was silent. In fact, upon completing her mission, her connection with the universe started intensifying, constantly urging her return to the forr universe, afraid she’d wander further.
Her consumption was indeed large, yet for that, should she be made to slumber again?
She hadn’t worked to such intensity only for slumber.
"We have a saying: ’Raise a bandit to enforce oneself.’ A weapon, without an enemy, will rust away in the warehouse. No matter how strong, you’re just a weapon created by the universe; it won’t tolerate your existence, because with no external threats, you’re the threat hindering the universe’s progress!"
"Are you trying to sow discord?" Her eyes turned cold.
"I’m stating a fact!" Old Liu insisted. "You should be able to sense it yourself, or else you wouldn’t initiate dialogue with . I suppose, in the past, encountering wouldn’t have been so calm. The first ti I t you, I was terrified, fleeing in panic. Maybe you let escape, maybe I got lucky, but after escaping, I lost the will to fight, as you ntioned, with beings like you, I saw no hope."
"What? You see hope now?"
"Perhaps a bit."
"Oh? Why?"
"Chen Qing managed to halt you for twenty years, proving there was so hope in the situation. While I had lost the will to fight, even with a gap in Chen Qing’s Law, he stopped you for twenty years. It ans if I join, perhaps we can halt you longer, or... have a little chance!"
"You are indeed arrogant." The Queen laughed.
"Not arrogance, but seeing hope. Don’t you want more challenge?"
"Childish provocation..."
She snorted, but the smile on her face broadened.
Indeed, too tedious. Maybe if the past changes, it could be different.
And she was curious too; would things change significantly with just one additional person?
Chen Qing was indeed powerful enough. If he was born in her world, maybe she would have been eliminated instead?
Unfortunately, the place itself ant he could never win!
