"Favor?" Kizeler repeated.

He couldn’t believe that his almighty demon companion was now asking for help.

Then a smile blossod on his face, but it soon disappeared as he heard Zeno’s reply.

"Go straight to the capital of Frostbloom Kingdom and observe the happenings in the castle," he said.

"What happenings?" Kizeler answered, knitting his brows.

"It’s the key. Anyway, you will know once you get there," Zeno said while staring directly into the human’s eyes.

’Still about that thing?’ Kizeler thought, then proceeded to speak.

"Given that I knew it, what am I supposed to do then?" He said, asking for more details.

"Nothing, just watch from the sidelines; I’ll catch up to you after that dungeon expedition," the demon replied.

"If ever sothing happens, though, you’ll be free to do sothing stupid as well; just don’t bla if you die," he added, laughing afterwards.

"Thanks for the reminder; I won’t bla you. Don’t worry," Kizeler replied with sarcasm.

The next second, Zeno turned around and started to walk away.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"To find a place to sleep without people who’ll wake up," Zeno replied without looking back.

’Does sleeping almost every day make soone powerful?’ Kizeler thought while staring at the demon’s figure fading from the sea of people walking down the street.

. . . . .

A few monts later, in the pheriphery of the town, a man with a scarf surrounding his neck was sitting in a cross-legged position while levitating several inches above ground. His eyes were closed, and his hands were resting at the top of his knees.

There were already particles of snow above his head and shoulders, yet he ignored them. His body was aware of the chilling sensation, but it was not cold enough to disrupt his concentration.

However, as he heard light footsteps walking towards him, his brows furrowed, and he opened his eyes bit by bit. He looked at the man dressed in a maroon coat with both of his hands were inside his pockets.

They kept on staring at each other for a minute; none of them were speaking, but their eyes seed to be talking. Then, seconds later, he closed his eyes again and returned to what he was currently doing. anwhile, Zeno, the silver-haired demon, leaped above a tree branch and lied down there.

Afterwards, hours flew by, but the two people remained at their positions, still silent, minding their own businesses. One was busy sleeping while the other was occupied with his ditation.

Then a shrill voice broke the serenity in the area. It was so loud and ear-piercing that most of the birds living inside flew away.

"Jez!" Called out a woman.

"Show yourself! If you don’t, I’ll burn this entire place to smithereens," she added, yelling.

Upon hearing the shout, Zeno opened his eyes and looked at the man below him.

"What is it?" The man asked after noticing the other man’s action.

"Your beloved is looking for you," Zeno said with a straight face before his lips curled upward.

"I would rather die than have that woman as my lover," the man chuckled.

"Hey, Jez!" Another shout reverberated in the area.

But this ti it was a lot louder, and impatience could be distinguished from it.

However, the man remained still, ignoring the voice. And the next second, without any signs or warning, a huge magic circle appeared above the sky before a burning teor of the sa size ca into view.

Zeno glanced at the massive piece of rock falling from the atmosphere and smiled.

"She really did it; too slow for a teor, though," he comnted, directing his gaze again on the man who was still ditating.

Then, as if he felt Zeno’s stares, the man stood up and looked above him.

"So childish," he uttered, sighing.

"I’ll go off first; you can proceed with your sleep. Let handle that," he added as he looked back at Zeno.

A smile even appeared on his face, not even burdened by the horrifying scene.

’Eleven seconds at most before the impact,’ he thought.

Afterward, he bent his knees to gather enough strength to propel his well-built body upward.

As soon as he flew up in the air, he saw a woman smiling at him while holding a red scepter in her left hand. He shook his head before pulling back his arm and aiming a palm strike at the teor.

He was a few distances away from the falling rock, and the mont he pushed his hand forward to strike it, a huge palm made of energy appeared in front of him. It was a bit bigger than the teor, and the mont they collided with each other, a trendous explosion appeared, generating wave after wave of vibrations up in the air.

Afterward, the man yelled at the top of his lungs as he clenched his fist.

"Stop ssing around! Allesanah!" He said. His voice echoed throughout the place, and even the townspeople heard his yell.

The huge hand closed its fingers, crashing the burning rock into small particles that fell and scattered across the forest.

"Shit!" The man cursed upon noticing that a few fragnts of the teor were hurled towards the town.

’I won’t make it on ti,’ he thought.

But still, he created a platform of energy behind him and positioned himself to move. However, as he was about to kick the platform, a shade of aureate energy appeared and protected the town from any damage. The pieces of rock were deflected the mont they touched the shield.

"Rye," the man uttered, smiling.

Afterward, he glanced at the woman with the scepter and descent in front of her with an annoyed expression. His abrupt action caused the dust to rise upward, creating a cover around him. Then he lunged toward the woman to give him a smack on the face, but she evaded him by sitting on her scepter and flying away.

"Calm down, Jez; I’m just joking," the woman said while her laughter sounded in the area.

"I’m so confident that you’re going to tear it down, and you did," she added, still chuckling.

"But what if I failed?" Jez answered with a question.

The woman didn’t reply right away; she hopped down from her scepter first and looked into the man’s eyes before proceeding to speak.

"Then our deaths will be the headline for the news tomorrow," she giggled.

"Anyway, Rye is the one looking for you," she added.

Upon hearing the na, the expression on the man’s face lightened up.

"Why, though?" He asked for the reason and the woman shrugged her shoulders before answering.

"To discuss things for tomorrow’s expedition, I guess," she said.

. . . . .

The people inside the town felt uneasy upon seeing the teor erge out of nowhere up above the sky. They were all speechless, afraid of what would happen next.

But as soon as they saw the silhouette of a man who faced the burning rock and stopped it from falling down, they all cheered and rooted for him.

"It’s Duke Glacksberg!" one of the people exclaid after realizing who it was.

Then they jumped in joy upon witnessing that the man managed to crash the giant teor.

However, their celebration ca to a halt as soon as they noticed that so parts of the teor were thrown in the town’s direction.

"Move! Hurry!" Yelled the people.

Almost all of them ran away, hoping not to get caught by the pieces of burning rock, while others automatically froze in their positions.

One of them was Kizeler; he remained still and kept his eyes staring at the things moving towards them, though he was not afraid. He believed that soone would jump in and save the town from imminent danger.

And he was not mistaken; soon enough, a woman walked by his side. He looked at her alluring figure, covered in a long black dress with flowing sleeves. A silver-colored belt was present, embracing her waist. It had a shield with a sword behind it as its buckle and a strap with diamonds embedded within.

At the top of her head, there was a silver tiara tying her hair; it had a delicate flowery design that greatly contributed to her astonishing appearance.

"Allesanah really went overboard again," she said with a voice so lodious in the ear.

The next second, he put her palms together and closed her eyes.

"Oh, Esteed Deity of Fortitude, please heed this child’s prayer. Safeguard us and this town from peril. Lend your power to build a wall enough to protect," she uttered, and upon opening her eyes, a thick energy flowed out from her and blocked the fragnts of teors from entering the town.

Then the woman noticed the man staring at her from her left side. She glanced at him and smiled, which made Kizeler blush a little.

. . . . .

At that mont, the demon was watching countless particles of the teor rain from the sky. These fragnts lted the snow as soon as they touched the ground and even burned so trees.

A lot of monsters ran away, while others chose to burrow themselves in the snow. They were terrified for their lives, and fear could be seen written on their faces.

Zeno just looked at them, void of any emotion. Then he spoke with a tinge of disappointnt.

"A re joke for soone powerful yet a total disaster for the powerless. The stronger will always prevail and the weak ones will be forever at the bottom of the food chain. That’s the sad reality of this world," he said before returning to sleep.
