Buzzling streets with different kinds of rchants were the first thing that Kizeler noticed upon stepping into the vicinity of the empire’s heart. Even the outside of the towering walls was filled with people lining up to enter the place.

"Too many people!" Leon exclaid in amazent as he walked beside Kizeler.

At the sa ti, Kizeler was being overwheld by the city’s architectural design. The columns of the walls were made of gold, while the posts were transparent and had a purple fla burning inside. It even had a phoenix carving on its walls. Then, up above, there was a floating chanism; it had a few strands pointing in each direction. This made the entire place look like a do with an invisible ceiling.

"I didn’t expect that this place would be this amazing," Kizeler blurted out.

He was busy admiring the place when the two won he saw at the tavern earlier occupied his mind. Even though they left in a hurry and he wanted to tail them, he didn’t entertain the idea.

’I wonder where they went,’ he thought, pondering.

With a curious gaze, he strode towards the gate. There were knights guarding the entrance, but they were just standing there without any unnecessary movents. Though their eyes were watching everyone that was passing by.

Kizeler tried to assess their strength, and with just their physique and the energy emanating from them, he could tell that each one could rival a Ruby-class rcenary. Then he focused all of his attention on the busy street in front. People doing business scattered everywhere; the establishnts were bigger and grander than the two kingdoms’ where he previously went on. Kizeler and Leon walked with their mouths half open.

"Is there a festival going on here? There’s a lot of people!" Kizeler questioned himself.

Afterward, several won approached him and offered various kinds of products like armor, charms, and weapons, but Kizeler just gave them a simple smile and continued moving forward.

’I’m not here for any of these,’ he thought.

His eyes were staring at another wall with a golden gate positioned several kiloters away from his current location. Despite it being far from him, it was massive enough for him to see the empire’s insignia, a phoenix with its wings spread sideways.

"Now then! What should I do first?" He blurted out.

He had two things to do: the first was to uncover the secrets behind his father’s death, and the second was to give the locket to the empire’s princess.

After thinking for a few minutes, Kizeler shook his head. Both of his tasks were complicated enough to give him a headache, though the latter seed more doable than the forr at this mont. So, without further ado, he searched for a nearby carriage to bring them into the imperial palace.

However, as he made another step, the people around him started discussing and pointing to sothing above. This made him curious, so he turned his head in the direction where they were looking, and he saw a person dressed in a beige-colored hood. A few strands of white hair were dangling from the side of the person’s face. She was holding a black-colored cane in her left hand.

The next second, she raised her other hand and snapped her fingers. The clicking sound produced by her previous action created a loud and thin vibration, enough to make everyone cover their ears. The barrier covering the entire place flickered while cracks began to appear on its transparent surface. Most of the people in the vicinity bled their ears; so children and won lost consciousness and fell on the concrete pavent. Even Kizeler dropped on his knees while doing his best to cover Leon’s ears, leaving his own unattended.

"Damn it!" He exclaid as he tried to stand up.

However, the thin sound rang once again, but this ti it was louder, destroying the barrier that protecting the capital. The ground shook for a few seconds while cries reverberated everywhere, asking for help. Kizeler tried to withstand the sound attack, but his ntal strength was not powerful enough to resist such a strong force; he soon lost consciousness along with Leon and the others.

As the knights recovered from shock, they pulled out their weapons and propelled themselves upward to apprehend the woman.

"Hands at the back of your head and surrender now! If you do, maybe you’ll receive a painless death for infusing chaos!" One of the knights exclaid upon closing the distance.

While pointing their weapons, they circled around the woman, but she didn’t even bother to look at them. Instead, she let out a short chuckle and spoke.

"How cute! Almost all of you fell on your knees in just a re snap of mine, yet you guys still believe that you have the strength to make surrender," she said.

Afterward, she extended her left hand in front and flicked her finger. Then, one of the knights tumbled before falling to the ground. His armor was shattered, and blood could be seen dripping from his ears and nose.

"Now? Do you still want to surrender? Pathetic fools," the woman conveyed. Her voice had a sweet lody, yet the tone was filled with nothing but arrogance.

The knights looked at each other, communicating with their eyes; the opponent was beyond their capability, but they were the proud knights of the empire. They must do their duties to protect the citizens and subdue the intruder. They were about to charge into her, but a sudden burst of purple fla behind them made them freeze. It traversed a straight path, aiming for the woman’s neck.

With a smirk, the woman bent backwards to dodge the fla that soon turned into a kick, and her hood fell from her head as well. Her intoxicating beauty was revealed, and the knights couldn’t help but admire it for a while.

The next second, a fist materialized from the purple fla, and a voice so cold was heard. The crown prince had appeared.

"Are you related to her?" Kreigster said the mont his body materialized before the intruder.

anwhile, the woman parried his fist and counterattacked with a palmstrike, aiming for the prince’s abdon.

Kreigster was pushed back, but he just shrugged it off and repeated his question.

"Answer ." He paused, and as his body was engulfed in purple flas, he continued. "The Crimson-Eyed lody, are you related to her?"

The woman didn’t speak right away; she looked straight into the prince’s eyes and smiled.

"I’m not inclined to answer your question, your Majesty, but who knows, maybe yes, maybe not," she replied, teasing the young man.

Upon hearing her answer, Kreigster shook his head.

"I’ll make sure to pull out that tongue of yours once I capture you!" He exclaid as he dashed forward.

However, a giant portal appeared in front of the woman, and without wasting a second, she stepped into it, leaving everyone in a daze.

Back in the forest of Duskstalker Kingdom, the silver-haired demon looked at the figures erging from the smoke. Two middle-aged n whom he was familiar with. They were Uoiea’s knights and were tasked with accompanying and protecting her at all costs. Zeno’s brows furrowed, then he diverted his gaze to Strannard and shook his head in disapproval.

"Are you mocking ?" He asked, smiling, but there was a slight anger in his voice.

"Yes! Yes, I am! But don’t be too upset; I did my best to preserve their corpse; you should feel gratified," Strannard replied.

Then, with a single wave of his hand, the two figures raised their weapons and dashed in Zeno’s direction.

"Heh? Well, thank you then, but you know very well that the likes of them can do nothing on ," Zeno stated as he tossed the dice above.

The surface with five white dots lit up, and it transford into a jet-black scythe. He charged towards them and slashed them in half. The bodies dissipated into black smoke, which circled around Zeno before forming two sets of thick chains on his left hand.

"Indeed, they are nothing against you. After all, you’re the one who killed them, and she didn’t know about it—that her very own lover was the reason why humans were put on the brink of extinction!" Strannard exclaid with great emphasis on each word.

But despite all he had said, the soul devourer remained calm and just looked at him without a single ounce of emotion.

"Are you done?" Zeno asked, and the dice embedded on the jet-black scythe spun.

The next second, the surface with one white dot glowed.

"Because I’m getting bored with these little talks," he added as soon as the sword wrapped in chains appeared in his hand.

. . . . .

anwhile, near the entrance of the underground prison, a curtain of darkness materialized, and two won jumped out of it.

"Mistress, please forgive , but this is the farthest that I can take you." Aichelle apologized, biting the lower part of her lips.

"I understand; stay hidden," Cinn replied while patting the head of her loyal servant.

Then, without further ado, she rushed towards the prison’s entrance.

’Zephryx, wait for ; I’ll free you from this place,’ she thought with a strong conviction.
