Chapter 1033: Chapter 1031-Whose Your Sister!?
Elowen just walked away, hoping to get a collection of her next activities, not even caring about any other stuff that es her way. Within seconds, she was already outside, though the moment she reached outside, she was met with the same 3 dudes she had met before, who blocked her path.
“So you’re free now for a visit?”
“Sure.”
Elowen directly replied, her expression calm and controlled. Though a bit annoyed she has to do this first thing in the morning, she got over that. It’s not like she had some other important stuff to do, and refusing this seemed like it would be followed up with a lot of problems she would have to deal with, which she doesn’t want to deal with at all.
So keeping that in mind, she was being led by the three, soon hailing a taxi which took them towards the gambling den. Elowen wasn’t worried because she definitely wasn’t cheating at all, but after this, it would seem she would have to change cities and hit up a new place. She would like to enjoy her peace and solitude away from any issues falling into her lap.
Soon they reached the gambling den, with Elowen being taken inside. The sounds of several different games going around being heard, and within the place, several hundred different marine life could be seen moving around. From mermaids to the penguin tribe that came from far just to fall into debt.
Unique games which matched the style and function of the waters being played, several variations of them, as Elowen was guided by the three through the place, deeper into the VIP area. Passing through the guarded place, they ended up in a hallway at the edge of which lay a door guarded by two men from the shark tribe.
Their forms morphed into shark-like heads and human-like bodies as they floated around looking menacing. Their power level ranged at Origin level 4, as Elowen was led inside the room. ing in, she was met with a luxurious room that seemed to take your breath away. A chandelier up high, leather chairs and a big table, though on the other side sat nobody.
It would seem the boss hadn’t arrived yet. Thus, the three men moved around the room, standing at different locations, as Elowen just took a seat in front of the table. In just a minute itself the door to the room opened up as a large, huge-sized shark beastman walked in. It was soon followed up by another shark beastman who was bigger, standing at attention, as yet another bigger shark beastman walked in. A thick bloodlust around the shark beastman as he walked to the centre of the table and took a seat.
Placing his hand on the table, opening it up, as Elowen, with quite the absurd look in her eyes, watched as the hand opened up to reveal a mid-sized crab.
“….”
The crab was sitting in his full form in a smaller chair on the table, the mean shark leaning back into his chair seemingly like a guardian.
“What, never saw a crab before?”
The crab spoke, mostly in the manner of a crab beastman, to which Elowen could only once again blink her eyes at the situation, quite thoroughly stunned at this ic-like scene.
(Author Note: Guess the movie~)
Anyhow, Elowen quickly shook her head off as she responded.
“No, I have seen my share of crabs. First time I have seen one in this situation.”
“Well, you better get used to it. The name’s Kim Tim.”
“Elowen.”
Elowen replied, to which the crab, clicking its pincers, spoke.
“So, the reason I called ya to the place is because of your constant win streak. I just want to make sure no funny business is happening inside my place.”
“I can assure you that I am not cheating at all. All I do is place some good bets.”
“Bets that always seem to win and earn you big. I got some pretty big customers plaining about all that luck of ya’s.”
“What can I say? I am just that lucky.”
“Hmmmm….”
The crab pincers once again made those piercing motions.
Click…. click…. click.
The sounds were irritating as the crab replied.
“If you are so lucky, why don’t ya play a match of luck with me?”
“Not interested. Look, if you can’t prove that I am cheating, then I have no interest in all this. Well, let’s just get it all over with and have you ban me.”
“Sounds like a good resolution.”
The crab added. And just as they were about to talk more, with the crab evidently annoyed and wanting to beat her up but keeping itself in place because it can’t prove anything, the next best thing was her volunteering to be banned and him banning her. The door was suddenly knocked on.
“Enter.”
The crab said, and soon two men from the shark tribe were guiding in quite the handsome-looking merman with a black eye to the room. His tail now became merman legs as he was being dragged in. Seeing the merman, the lip of Elowen twitched, as this was the very same new neighbour she had just met!
“Got this one blatantly cheating in the games. He almost got away with it, too. It was by just luck he got caught.”
And as he was pulled in, the merman’s eyes fell upon Elowen. His eyes widened for a moment, after which his expression went through a sudden change, and with that, the merman gave his next Oscar-worthy performance that stunned the whole room.
His expression twisted, one filled with unwillingness and sadness, as he looked at Elowen like a lost puppy and shouted his heart out.
“Big sis, help me! You said this method would work, and I won’t be caught!”
His shouting filled up the room, stunning them all. The merman male had an aggrieved expression, as if he had faced the worst betrayal from family in front of him. His own display was so good that for a moment Elowen doubted if she even had a brother.
‘What the fuck?’
Was all Elowen could even muster in her mind as the atmosphere, which was quiet and bad before now, turned deadly.
Click…. click…. click.
The sound of those pincers got only louder now as the crab turned to look at Elowen and asked.
“You know this kid?”
“No, I just met him today!”
“That’s a lie!”
The merman male cried out with a broken heart and a voice so quivering with betrayal and sadness that for a moment even the crab wanted to soothe the kid.
“Big sis lives next to me, and she has been training me to be her wingman all this time! Big sis, I am so sorry for going at it alone today, please forgive me! Help me!”
The merman male cried out, his tears raining down his face like little pearls too good to be lost.
Elowen just stood there, her face frozen in a perfect mix of disbelief and rising murderous intent as the merman’s fake tears continued to flow like expensive pearls. The crab’s pincers clicked even louder, the sound now echoing like a death knell in the luxurious VIP room.
“You REALLY don’t know this kid?”
The crab asked again, its beady eyes narrowing suspiciously at her.
“I told you, I just met him today! He’s clearly lying through his damn gills!”
Elowen snapped, her voice sharp enough to cut coral.
“That’s a lie, Big Sis! You said this method was foolproof!”
The merman wailed dramatically, throwing himself forward as if trying to hug her legs.
“You even promised me a cut of the winnings if I helped you cheat the big bosses! How could you abandon your little brother like this?!”
The entire room went dead silent for a split second before chaos erupted. The shark guards growled, the crab’s pincers snapped together with murderous intent, and even the air seemed to grow heavier with killing pressure.
Elowen could only stare in utter horror as the merman gave her the most pathetic, betrayed puppy eyes she had ever seen in two lifetimes.
‘This little shit… I’m going to kill him myself.’
And just as the crab leaned forward with a dangerous click, the merman added the final nail in the coffin with a sobbing whisper loud enough for everyone to hear:
“Big Sis… don’t let them take me… I still haven’t paid back the money I borrowed from you for those ‘special lessons’…”
The room exploded into accusations, and Elowen’s face twitched violently as she realised this idiot had just turned her peaceful gambling retirement into a plete shitshow.
‘Note to self: Next time I see a handsome neighbour… drown him immediately.’
The crab’s pincers snapped shut with finality.
“Well then… it looks like we have a lot to discuss, Miss Elowen.”
Elowen could only sigh deeply as her peaceful second life took yet another nosedive into absolute chaos.
