Chapter 216: Chapter 216: Driven to a Corner
Lin Fu repelled the ambush from the shadows with a single strike, imdiately using the “Falling Leaves Steps” to trace an eerie, unpredictable line of light as she dashed toward Celia’s direction of descent.
Grasping the swiftly falling Celia, Lin Fu’s form inevitably began to plumt toward the ground with a wrenching fall.
The wind whistled past her ears, and enemies intent on seizing her life surrounded her on all sides. Lin Fu was now pushed to the brink; the slightest misstep could lead to her death.
“Co on, wake up. Are you dead?”
After stabilizing her descent, Lin Fu held Celia by the waist with one hand and her combat blade in the other. High-energy weapons emitted light beams that pierced the night sky; to the spectators on the ground, it was just a dance of shadows and light, each beam dragging tens of ters of brightness across the sky and illuminating the scene of battle.
“Ah!”
“Pfft…”
Screams, spitting blood, the sound of bodies falling, accompanied by the thud of heavy objects hitting the ground and the report of ion guns.
The onlookers on the ground watched with great interest, many even starting live broadcasts of the event.
“Wow… A high-energy weapon that can drag out fifty ters of light, that must be at least series 7, only the military can use those,” an inford viewer analyzed on cara before soone else chid in.
“There are also Military Academy Students, the weapons ard by students are all series 7 now. All the Military Academy Students from the star systems have gathered at Capital Star; maybe the ones fighting above are Military Academy Students.”
“No way. Are the Military Academy Students really that powerful now? Not dying even under two ion cannon shots?”
“I don’t know about students from other star systems, but those from the top three military academies have always been strong.”
The discussion on the ground grew louder, and the battle in the sky intensified. The hidden assassins seed endless, and Lin Fu, standing out in the open and burdened with Celia, was depleting more and more strength as ti went on, definitely to her disadvantage.
Luckily, she had sent out a distress signal at the first opportunity, and the rescue team from the Military Academy would soon arrive to help her out of this trouble.
“Die!”

Another ion cannon blast ca roaring in, luckily imprecise due to being fired by a lone person, it grazed past Lin Fu and Celia.
Even though it did not hit them directly, the ion cannon’s high-energy destructive power still erupted into a flurry of fireworks and high temperatures.
Celia’s clothes and hair caught fire, and as flas threatened to engulf her, Lin Fu, with no other choice, opted to land on the ground.
Due to the chaos in Zone 23, the ground harbored many more unknown dangers, which is why Lin Fu had not chosen to land sooner, but now there was no choice. To avoid being targeted and disrupted by the ion cannon, she had to move the battlefield to the ground and completely negate the hidden ion cannons’ advantage.
Thankfully, the combat suit she wore was fireproof, and its protection against extre cold was among the best.
As she descended, Lin Fu removed the outer jacket of her combat suit, clasped Celia between her legs, and using one hand managed to awkwardly put the combat suit on Celia to snuff out the flas on her. The two plumted from the sky amidst sparks and flashes.
Throughout the descent, they had to constantly perform intricate maneuvers to dodge the lethal beams from ion guns, making for a breathtakingly dire situation.
“Over here!”
Just as they were closing in on the ground, a shout ca from the top of a tall building.
Lin Fu hesitated for just a second, then followed her instincts to twist around and fall toward the rooftop.
With a loud “boom,” she landed heavily on the rooftop, imdiately taking up a defensive stance as she turned to face the man before her.
