Ordinary things, yet the hands of these few were trembling, showing none of the typical composure of superpower users.
She had even deliberately cooked a big pot.
"It’s been a month, we’ve been trapped here for a month without tasting this kind of food," soone reflected.
"Rest well tonight, we’ll leave tomorrow," Jianxiong stood up and was about to get another bowl when Li He next to him stood up proactively, took the bowl from his hand, "We have nothing with which to repay you, let serve you."
A Level 5 Healing Superpower User without a hint of pride.
Jianxiong ogled his back and chuckled, teasingly saying, "You, a grown man, how co you’re so skinny, you look like a little chick."
Li He’s hand stiffened before he replied, "Born with it."
Feeling that the comnt was a bit offensive, Su Mo kicked out from under the table, "What nonsense, being sturdy enough to have to turn sideways just to enter a door is definitely better."
Jianxiong laughed goofily, "My mistake, my mistake."
After dinner, everyone slouched in their chairs, rubbing their round bellies.
"How are we to leave tomorrow?" Li Qian asked tily.
"That electric wire, it’s the best solution we’ve thought of to reach the other side," Li He took it upon himself to clear all the finished tableware to the sink, then turned to Lu Chen, "We didn’t have the chance to ask, what are your nas?"
Everyone exchanged nas with each other.
Su Mo shot down the suggestion, "Not to ntion the old and rickety problems, there’s a huge hole in that supermarket, has the monster appeared there before?"
"Yes, we went out to get food once, and for that... two people died," Li He lowered his head, his expression tinged with sadness.
Jianxiong, sitting right beside him, slapped his back, "No worries, I’ll be able to protect you guys when the ti cos. At my peak, I could serve as a flesh shield against that monster for quite a while."
Li He’s originally pleasing face twisted with the pat, and he turned, resigned, "Then, thanks in advance."
With his gentle and feeble appearance, Su Mo kicked Jianxiong on the leg once again, "Be careful, what if you damage him?"
"Oh..." Jianxiong couldn’t help but size up the man beside him, then glance at his palm which seed larger than the man’s face, and he sulkily stopped moving and sat still.
"Get so rest early tonight, I’ll use Space to send you over tomorrow," Lu Chen pondered for a while before speaking up.
Fortunately, the distance wasn’t far, and he was confident in tearing open a rift to send them across safely.
"Snap!"
It was the sound of a rock hitting the window.
Li Qian stood up and walked to the bedside. The building opposite had lights on, several people stood at the window holding up a sign, the content of which left him expressionless.
He shifted slightly to the side, allowing the person sitting there a clear view.
The sign carried a threatening ssage.
"If we can’t take them with us, we won’t be able to leave either," he scoffed, sitting back down, "What to do? The helicopter simply hasn’t got that many seats."
Su Mo fell silent for a mont, then asked, "Is our helicopter capable of getting people to a safe location and then returning?"
Li He said, "This wasteland is its hunting ground, to go there and co back, I’m afraid we’d waste quite a bit."
Lu Chen also shook his head decisively, his deep blue eyes slightly dim, "It’s not enough."
"Even if we wanted to bring more, there’s just not enough space," Li Qian suddenly said, tapping his head, "I’ve used my spiritual power to scan the town. There are still quite a few people hiding in their hos."
After weighing the pros and cons, Su Mo said, "Then let’s give up on that for now. We’ll bring back who we can first."
Although they knew that the threat was born out of desperation, there was only one helicopter.
She thought for a mont, took the expert’s pen, and wrote a sentence on the blank side of a docunt, which she then handed to Li Qian.
The paper was posted on the window, it said that in a week, they would find new fuel and co back for them.
Indeed, Su Mo could not completely ignore these people’s welfare; within her abilities, she wanted to preserve so humanity. After all, making another trip wasn’t out of the question.
Similarly, this would serve to soothe them to a certain extent. If they made a fuss during the departure tomorrow, it would be a big loss.
The piece of paper was stuck to the window, and the people in the house opposite gathered together to discuss.
"Isn’t that obviously a lie? If they don’t co back after leaving, we’ll still die."
"What could go wrong with just one or two more people on the helicopter?"
"If they don’t take us tomorrow, we’ll just force our way on. I don’t believe that in just a few seconds, the monster will be able to bite us all to death."
"..."
It was deep into the night, and this building had a large balcony on the second floor, backed by wasteland. Su Mo stood on it, her gaze scanning the desolate area for a mont before she took a processed mutant rabbit out from her System Bag.
"If it’s by ground vibration, Lu Chen, try throwing the rabbit further away," she said, pushing the rabbit into the man’s hands.
The rabbit’s at was flung far away by an Ice Blade, finally crashing to the ground a hundred ters away.
The air fell quiet, but no more than five seconds after the rabbit’s at hit the ground, a creature resembling a giant worm burst forth from the earth. Its gaping maw revealed several tentacle-like appendages that wrapped around the rabbit and pulled it into its mouth before burrowing back into the ground.
The night was very dark, but the creature’s wrinkled brown skin was clearly visible under the moonlight.
"Is this one of the mutated specins from the lab?" Su Mo frowned, "This thing digs too fast."
The geological expert, who had silently appeared behind them, explained with an obscure expression, "It’s a newly discovered ancient venomous insect. We extracted its DNA for resurrection research. Then the apocalypse struck, and I never imagined it would evolve like this. Its massive size makes the specins we cultivated in petri dishes seem minuscule."
These scientists were always so mad and obsessive.
Su Mo was at a loss for words, and simply said, "If that’s the case, we shouldn’t have any problems tomorrow as long as our toes don’t touch the ground."
"Let’s get so rest," Lu Chen said, taking out a few sleeping bags to lay on the ground, but Li He entered the balcony and invited, "Sleep inside. The living room is spacious enough, there are carpets we laid out, and it will be warr."
Lu Chen did not refuse, leading everyone downstairs.
The faint candlelight illuminated the living room as everyone settled in for rest.
In the quiet of the night, the neighbors did not delay in sleeping, but instead spread the news that Su Mo and her group were planning to abandon them and leave in the morning.
These people all saw a helicopter co, its location inside the supermarket. As long as they could get there, they believed they would be able to squeeze onto the plane no matter what.
Suddenly, the whole town seed restless.
Once the desire to live overpowers reason, people can end up doing so rash things.
