He pressed down on the bicycle tire, it was a bit deflated, and the chain was sowhat rusty, but it was still rideable.
Su Mo straddled the bike and patted the rusted rear seat, "Get on, I’ll take you to find a car."
Yang Yichu, with a stiff smile on his face, sat on the bike, his small hands tightly hugging her slender waist.
Su Mo pedaled the bike onto the road.
From ti to ti, a few zombies would pass by, but with Yang Yichu present, Su Mo and her little bike were completely ignored, as if they were air.
A journey that would normally take two hours on foot was cut down to an hour.
She was constantly narrowing her search for the car that Yang Yichu had described.
Soon, in a small alley, she spotted the car he had ntioned.
A newly modified battle vehicle, pitch-black all over with moonlight reflecting off its surface, casting a cold gleam.
Very clean, not at all like sothing that had been abandoned.
Su Mo imdiately stopped cycling and, with Yang Yichu in tow, silently hid in the dark; there were people nearby, and she was with a little zombie, it wouldn’t be surprising if they were discovered.
This posed a dilemma.
"What’s wrong, sister? Aren’t we going to take it?" asked Yang Yichu curiously.
After thinking for a mont, Su Mo asked, "The zombies around here, can you summon them?"
"I can."
"Don’t summon ones that are too strong. Let’s do a heroic rescue and then we should be able to hitch a ride quite naturally," she said.
Yang Yichu obediently nodded, and the invisible grey spiritual power imdiately mobilized dozens of zombies in the vicinity.
Soon, Su Mo began to hear the footsteps of zombies running and crawling, and she smiled satisfactorily, hiding in the dark, her hand on Yang Yichu’s shoulder, "Go in first, this ti, once we reach our destination, I will let you out."
He was used to following her everywhere anyway, so Yang Yichu, without any resistance, obediently nodded.
However, the mont he entered into the system, all control was lost, and those zombies started crashing blindly through streets following their sense of sll.
The people resting on the rooftop imdiately noticed sothing was wrong. Jianxiong took off his jacket, his size expanding dramatically, and exclaid in surprise, "Why are there suddenly so many zombies?"
Feng Yao clenched his fists and said, "Just a few dozen, the two of us can go take care of it."
Lu Chen was already shrouded in a great deal of cold air, "Make it quick."
Su Mo, hidden in the shadows, was sneakily waiting for the opportunity to rescue soone in danger, but her plan seed to have failed.
The trio who suddenly leapt from the rooftop left her dumbfounded and motionless.
The buildings and environnt around her seed to blur in her vision, as Su Mo’s eyes were fixated solely on that tall and upright figure.
She stepped out of the shadows, her eyes reddening as she watched the man fighting amid the zombie horde.
Lu Chen felt that intense gaze. With one hand, his giant Ice Sword, he killed four or five zombies in succession, his emotionless, cold eyes flooded with feeling when they t Su Mo’s, and it was like ice shattering, all his emotions converging into a storm.
Where he had been navigating calmly among the zombies, he now charged like a madman, the cold gleam of his giant sword intensifying as he cleaved a straight path through to Su Mo.
Standing on the rooftop and looking out, Lin Yao saw for the first ti that the strong, handso man could also lose his composure. What was he so anxious about?
She couldn’t help but follow his gaze.
Lu Chen rushed unimpeded all the way to Su Mo, the Ice Sword skimming past her ear to stab backward, plunging into the zombie that was behind her, attempting to pounce and bite her.
A few drops of black blood splattered onto her and the man’s face.
Su Mo was not at all panicked; she could feel the man’s hands shaking in front of her, his phoenix eyes filled with madness and ecstasy.
"You, you’re back?"
The words rolled in her throat several tis before tumbling out of her thin lips.
Su Mo stepped forward and gently hugged the man’s robust waist, reproaching, "Didn’t I tell you to wait for to co back?"
The huge sword disappeared into thin air, and the man opened his arms to embrace her tightly, with a force that seed to want to press her into his marrow. Su Mo bore it, tenderly patting his back and whispering, "Lu Chen, I’m back, I’m back."
He greedily sniffed the familiar scent at the tip of his nose, his icy eyes warming, "I couldn’t wait, so I ca to find you. Fortunately, it’s not too late, I can bring you ho."
Su Mo’s nose twitched with emotion, and she hugged him tightly, her voice nasal as she said, "Everything’s sorted out, we can go ho now."
The small horde of zombies nearby was quickly dispatched by Jianxiong and Feng Yao.
Both of them stood to one side, faces alight with surprise. Su Mo, nearly suffocated by his embrace, patted his back, "Lu Chen, let go first."
The man released her, but his cool, large palm changed to gripping her hand tightly.
"Sister!" Jianxiong rushed over, about to give Su Mo a hug, but was stopped by a look from Lu Chen, yet he still couldn’t help walking excitedly around Su Mo, rubbing his hands, "You’re finally back. Otherwise, we were planning to head to Gucheng City."
Su Mo was taken aback, "What would you do in Gucheng City?"
Feng Yao explained, "This past month, wherever there was a zombie horde, that’s where we’d go, but we never found any trace of you. Gucheng City was our last stop; we were planning to head even farther if we couldn’t find you."
Su Mo was nearly moved to tears, then she stood on her toes and planted a kiss on Lu Chen’s face, "Don’t take such risks, alright?"
"Let’s not stay here; it’s not safe. Co up," Lin Yao, who had been ignored for too long, finally couldn’t help but cough to get their attention.
Only then did Su Mo realize there was another woman on the rooftop. She couldn’t help asking curiously, "Who is this?"
"I’m the new mber of the team, Lin Yao," she replied with courtesy.
Su Mo, puzzled, turned her head to look at Lu Chen and whispered, "You brought a woman on such a dangerous task?"
"I insisted on coming," Lin Yao, who heard the exchange, explained from above.
"She’s a Healing Superpower, able to treat the zombie virus. Plus, Rong Bai always worries about us running into trouble, so he let her co with us," Jianxiong, thinking Su Mo had misunderstood, hastily explained.
Since Su Mo was short, Lu Chen simply picked her up and placed her on the hood of the battle vehicle, and from there, helped her onto the roof.
Lin Yao even extended her hand to help, "I’ll pull you up."
"Thank you," said Su Mo, expressing her gratitude, and after being pulled up, her eyes stayed on Lin Yao, still curious, "This is the first ti I’ve heard of the Healing Elent superpower."
Once Lu Chen joined her, he imdiately pulled her close to his side, his arm firmly wrapped around her waist.
Lin Yao smiled modestly with a hint of pride in her eyes, "Right now, large refugee camps like the one in P City are rare. It’s normal you haven’t heard about it, because those with this power are either very well protected or choose to hide
