Chapter 363: Chapter 362: Ling Ye Awakens

Blue light crawled from the soles of Ling Ye’s feet to the area around his eyes, eventually disappearing without a trace.

“He’s about to wake up,” said Su Mo, recalling this scene very clearly. At the B City base, Ling Ye had woken up after presenting the sa symptoms.

The two doctors had never before seen soone eat a Crystal Stone directly and had even forgotten to be afraid.

Only two short minutes passed before Ling Ye’s pallid fingers twitched slightly under the operating light. Then, before everyone’s gaze, his eyelashes quivered and he slowly opened his eyes.

The harsh light from the surgical lamp made him instinctively uncomfortable, so he raised his hand, trying to block it.

Lu Chen looked on, then found the power switch and turned off the lamp. He grabbed the fur coat, which the doctors had carelessly tossed aside, and covered Ling Ye.

“Ling Ye,” Su Mo called his na softly, and the little man quickly responded to her.

“Sister Su,” Ling Ye’s complexion gradually regained so color. He sat up on the bed, a hint of confusion and a sense of satisfaction from being well-fed in his eyes.

“Are you still feeling unwell?” She reached out and touched his face.

Ling Ye felt as light as if he had unlimited strength. He shook his head, “No, I’m feeling great.”

Su Mo finally exhaled in relief, but the two doctors beside her were not as joyful upon seeing the patient awake. They still bore the mission of producing the Evolution Potion. With Ling Ye awake, the lives of these two were also drawing to a close.

After a mont of thought, Lu Chen decisively scooped Ling Ye into his arms, his face devoid of emotion, “I need to speak with him.”

He intended to avoid the doctors, and though Su Mo didn’t know what he was planning, she nodded in agreent, “Make sure he puts on his clothes properly, don’t let him catch a cold.”

The two of them went to an adjacent dicine room, separated by transparent glass, full of drugs and various dical items scavenged from all over the city.

Outside, Jianxiong had been wrangling with the guards for quite so ti. Clearly out of topics, they were afraid that staying any longer might bring trouble. Graciously clapping their shoulders, he said, “I’ll call them out. No need to delay the experints for the two doctors.”

No sooner had he stepped into the lab than he saw Li Qian and Zhao Changsheng standing side by side, an indescribably harmonious scene. Suppressing his discomfort, he walked over to Su Mo, his voice gruff, “Sister, hurry up, there’s no ti to waste.”

“Got it, in a minute,” Su Mo responded, tilting her chin towards Lu Chen, who was behind the door speaking with Ling Ye about who knew what.

The soundproofing here was excellent; she could not make out what the two were saying.

Before Lu Chen, who always carried an aura taller than his own height, Ling Ye looked sowhat fearful yet admiring.

“Got everything down?”

“Yes, I will tell them to draw my blood, saying it’s the serum, the substance that can cause evolution,” Ling Ye nodded firmly, indicating he rembered everything. Although young, he was aware that he needed to help Su Mo and the others escape.

Lu Chen touched the top of his head, wrapped him up again, and lifted him, stepping out of the dicine room.

“We won’t expose your counterfeit identities,” Lu Chen said coldly to the two doctors standing not far away, as he placed Ling Ye back on the surgical bed.

Eager to keep their secret safe, the doctors were pleased, yet also puzzled, “Why would you…”

“Continue with the Evolution Potion research, for the will of God. You too must complete it.”

“What… you know that,” the doctor started, but Lu Chen cut him off with a chilling voice, “We don’t know anything. Figure out the rest on your own. The Empress must be injected with the Evolution Potion.”

Both doctors were sowhat perplexed by Lu Chen’s intentions, whereas Su Mo and Li Qian had an inkling of what he was planning.

Two veterinarians who know nothing attempting to extract the Evolution Potion from Ling Ye? To Su Mo, it seed akin to courting death. However, if it was a trap set for those people to fall into…

She glanced at Lu Chen, an involuntary smile curving her lips. How deadly his plan was.

Zhao Changsheng said, “Does that an we still can’t take the kid Ling Ye with us?”

“Mmm, but it should be very soon,” Su Mo said with a smile on her face.

Behind her, Jianxiong felt bewildered, and the suspicious glances that occasionally cast their way from outside only made him frown and say, “Let’s move, quick. If the subject wakes up, I still need to report to the Empress.”

Su Mo waved her hand at Ling Ye, mouthing the words, ‘Behave and wait for to pick you up.’

Ling Ye nodded and mouthed back, “I’ll wait for you, Sister Su.”

The group obediently followed Jianxiong out of the lab. As soon as everyone had left and the glass door closed again, isolating their voices, silence returned.

Picking up his notebook from the floor in a fluster, the doctor also moaned, “Now I’m really done for, dead either way. With this junk equipnt, how can we refine an Evolution Potion? This cult is utterly delusional.”

“Ah, what did those people just now an, bringing us soone knowing full well we couldn’t extract the dicine?”

“How should I know? Let’s just hurry up and think of sothing. If we don’t produce results by the deadline, we’re done for!”

“…just say the equipnt isn’t adequate. Haven’t we done this before? Get two more machines and have them brought back to stall for ti.”

“…”

The two doctors didn’t even glance at Ling Ye as they scurried about in panic.

Swinging his legs, Ling Ye said softly, “Use my blood.”

One doctor turned to look at him, then quickly sat in front of the experint table, “Wait a little longer, his blood hasn’t separated yet. If we must, we’ll use his blood directly as a last resort, make a preliminary dicine. If it doesn’t work, we’ll find another excuse.”

“You want to inject it directly? Wouldn’t there be a rejection?”

“A dead horse as a living horse doctor, at the end of the day, it’s still death.”

Hearing their conversation, Ling Ye bowed his head and whispered softly, “It will be successful.”

In his open palm, blue patterns were undulating; he had absolute control over the power hidden within his blood.

Even if it was injected into soone else’s body, it should still be the sa.

He thought so.

..

Having left the lab, a few Angel Envoys passed by discussing that today, another person had been thrown into the Demon Cage.

“Shall we take a look?” Jianxiong asked.

Lu Chen, “Let’s take a look.”

Seeing that there were not many people around, Jianxiong lowered his voice and said, “These people are ruthless murderers that have killed countless; almost everyone who doesn’t obey the cult has been killed off. To even classify the Demon Cage as lion-level is to put it mildly.”

“There are stronger ones?” Zhao Changsheng inquired.

Jianxiong nodded, and whether intentionally or not, he deliberately positioned himself between Li Qian and her, saying, “You’ll know once you see it.”

Pushed to the side, Li Qian paused for a mont, then lifted the corners of his lips with an apparently genial expression, though a cold light gradually gathered in the depths of his eyes.

Reacting to Jianxiong’s sudden proximity, Zhao Changsheng moved a couple of steps closer to Su Mo, creating so distance.

Su Mo sensed that strange atmosphere again. Walking beside Lu Chen, she turned her head and observed each of their faces for a mont—everyone’s expression seed normal, so why was the atmosphere so bizarre?
