240: Chapter 238: I am a Chef 240: Chapter 238: I am a Chef “He didn’t bring her back,” Su Mo squinted her eyes as she held Zhao Changsheng and put her back in the car.
Hu Ding was stunned.
He thought about it and ultimately did not ntion the matter; he simply said, “That’s a pity.”
“Oh,” Su Mo closed the car door without even greeting anyone, and directly had Jin Han’s people drive away.
In the car, Li Qian asked, “What did they say about the original body?”
Su Mo looked out of the car window, took a deep breath, and said softly, “What you saw in Happiness District, there is another living body underneath this base.”
Seeing that she was not in good shape, Li Qian didn’t ask more, and the group just went back to their residence.
Zhao Changsheng also woke up during this ti.
She was still a bit groggy as the two of them supported her into the elevator.
“I’ll take her back.
You go check on Su Niang and the others,” Su Mo told Li Qian.
The other party nodded and watched them leave the elevator before pressing the switch.
“Momo, am I okay now?” Zhao Changsheng walked unsteadily.
Half-supporting her, Su Mo chuckled, “Otherwise, how are you talking to here?”
“It’s all your care for , it’s been hard,” Zhao Changsheng said with an affectionate expression, looking just like a seductive fox spirit adoring his wife.
Su Mo said dryly, “You don’t rember at all?
It wasn’t who took care of you, it was Li Qian.
You were the one holding his hand.”
Zhao Changsheng’s fox-like eyes imdiately brightened a bit, and her expression turned ugly instantly.
“No way.”
“Why the long face?
Li Qian is such a good man.”
Although Su Mo didn’t quite believe the latter half of her sentence herself, as her teammate, he was indeed very qualified.
Speaking of which, they arrived at the door of the room.
Su Mo knocked, and imdiately there ca a hectic noise from inside.
The door didn’t open, but a slightly panicked voice from Xiaoqiao ca from inside, “Who is it?!”
Su Mo and Zhao Changsheng exchanged a glance, feeling sothing was off right away.
Zhao Changsheng hoarsely said, “It’s , open the door.”
Xiaoqiao was nearly sweating with anxiety.
She saw her parents sitting in the living room, ssy in their attire, eating bread and cookies.
Finally, she cautiously opened a crack in the door and said, “Changsheng, weren’t you supposed to be out for a week?”
“Oh, the mission got completed ahead of schedule, so I ca back,” Zhao Changsheng sensed sothing was off.
She let go of Su Mo and pulled the door open wide, seeing the couple sitting on the couch.
“Changsheng, listen to my explanation, my parents were too hungry, so I brought them back to eat sothing,” Xiaoqiao imdiately teared up, desperately explaining.
Zhao Changsheng, already in a poor mood, turned even paler with anger.
She asked sternly, “How many days have you been here?”
The parents sitting in the living room hurried over to apologize as well, “I’m sorry, we were just so hungry, and we couldn’t fill our stomachs outside.”
“Don’t bla my daughter.
It wasn’t intentional, Sir.”
Su Mo glanced inside and saw a big bag of food, all spread out on the table.
It was supposed to last a week, but was already nearly gone, much of it halfway eaten and then left aside.
Her gaze assessed the woman called Xiaoqiao again.
Sotis, once human greed is indulged, it knows no bounds.
“How did they get in?” Su Mo asked.
Normally, common folk from the Outer Ring aren’t qualified to enter the Second Ring.
Xiaoqiao shyly looked at her before lowering her head, “I reported the apartnt’s number.”
“Once they’ve eaten, send them away,” Zhao Changsheng didn’t say anything further, but her normally coquettish voice beca unusually calm.
Xiaoqiao sighed in relief.
“Then wait for at ho, I’ll co back after I send them off.”
As if afraid she would say more, she quickly took her parents and left.
Zhao Changsheng stood in the room for a long while before saying, “I’ve spoiled her too much.”
Su Mo remained silent.
This was her personal matter after all, and she had no right to interfere.
She simply helped her sit down in front of the sofa, “You see to it yourself.
I need to go back.”
Zhao Changsheng made a move to stand up, “I’ll take you back, go up and have a good sleep.”
“You go lie down and rest,” Su Mo pressed her back down and walked out the door, closing it behind her.
When she returned to her own apartnt, there was a soldier standing at her door holding a box.
Su Mo walked up and asked, “Is there sothing I can help with?”
The soldier turned around and imdiately saluted her, “Are you Miss Su?”
“Yes,” Su Mo nodded.
The soldier imdiately handed over the box, “Mr.
Lu Jin asked to deliver this, please sign for it.”
“Lu Jin?” Su Mo frowned and took the box, which had a handwritten note on top of it.
She pondered for a mont and ultimately accepted it, “Thank you.”
After the person left, she entered the house, casually tossed the box onto the table, took a shower in the bathroom, and then rolled into bed.
The sunlight outside was just right, but Su Mo was unbearably sleepy; she yawned and burrowed into the blankets to catch up on so sleep.
…
Since entering the base, Lu Chen headed straight for the Jiang Residence.
Upon entering, Jiang Yulian was on the sofa, cuddling with her child.
Seeing him return, she imdiately stood up, “Chenchen, you’re back!”
The man’s facial features were stern, and his eyes were unusually cold when he t hers, “Where is the doctor who treated ?”
“What doctor, are you hurt!” Jiang Yulian was startled and quickly put down the child to check on him.
Lu Chen pointed at his head, “Here.”
Jiang Yulian’s heart skipped a beat, knowing what he was referring to, “That was your uncle who found him from outside, I’m not very clear, he was recomnded by the doctor who perford my C-section.”
Lu Chen’s lips ford a straight line, then he called over a soldier standing outside the door, “Tell Hu Ding to co to the villa to see .”
The soldier’s eyes flickered with understanding and he saluted to show he understood.
After he left, Lu Chen watched where the soldier went, his phoenix eyes narrowing, “Has Uncle gone to the laboratory again?”
Jiang Yulian nodded and took Lu Chen’s hand, her face full of worry, “Chenchen, I know you are very smart and decisive, but with your uncle, I hope you…”
Lu Chen cut her off with a slightly cold tone, “I understand.”
He withdrew his hand and turned to leave when Jiang Yulian called out to him again from behind.
“Chenchen, that girl Su Mo, is she doing okay?”
Lu Chen’s figure paused slightly, then he beckoned a very faint, light smile, “She’s fine.”
…
When Su Mo opened her eyes again, it was already evening, and there was a series of urgent knocks on the door.
She was bewildered for a mont before rubbing her eyes, putting on a coat, and getting out of bed to open the door.
“Who is it?”
Outside stood a female staff mber from the distribution hall, whom she vaguely rembered.
“Is it Miss Su Mo?”
Su Mo yawned lazily and nodded her head.
The person bent slightly and handed her a key, “Miss Su, this is the villa key, congratulations from today you will be Admiral Lu’s personal chef.”
Su Mo was stunned for three seconds before she took the key, “Right, I’m the chef.”
“Please prepare tonight’s dinner as well,” said the staff mber, then glanced at her with a slightly envious look before turning to leave.
