239: Chapter 237: Give You an Explanation 239: Chapter 237: Give You an Explanation “You said from above?” Jin Han exclaid in astonishnt after he cut off a zombie’s throat with a Wind Blade.
“Let the zombies out,” Su Mo nodded and smiled.
Jin Han unconsciously felt a chill in his heart from that smile, “That brother up there is probably going to be gnawed to the bone.”
The Gold Elent Superpower covering the iron door vanished, and the earthen wall wrapped around the outermost started to crack.
Ai Yang desperately retreated backwards, and finally, when the first zombie broke through the earthen wall and rushed towards him, he pushed himself forward with his hands and fell over the edge of the rooftop.
Behind Su Mo was a loud crash.
Ai Yang was dead.
Splattered with blood on her face from below, Zhao Xiweng had her eyes burst out on that unrecognizable face, staring dead at her.
She was frightened, and if it hadn’t been for Mo Yan’s help, she might have been bitten by the zombies.
Su Mo stood not far from her, watching her with a smile that was not quite a smile.
The murderous intent emanating from those clear eyes made Zhao Xiweng shudder.
The number of zombies on the path under the rainwater pipes was significantly reduced by more than half.
Three groups of people successfully broke out.
The vehicle was on the road back to the city.
Su Mo sat in the car, looking out the window with a nonchalant expression.
“Lu Chen”
“Hmm?”
“How did you co back?” Su Mo turned her head to look at him.
The man glanced at her while holding the steering wheel, “Sun Cheng saved my life.”
“He’s still alive?” Su Mo was surprised.
“You know him?” Lu Chen also seed puzzled.
Su Mo’s expression darkened, and then she lay back on the seat casually saying, “Not really.”
After a while, she blew the wind to move the ssy hair from her face and asked, “What are you planning to do in Sheng City?”
“Primordial,” Lu Chen told her without any hesitation.
Su Mo had an ‘I thought as much’ expression, “Looks like the intel was wrong.”
“Hmm.”
She didn’t ask anymore questions, and silence fell between them.
They took a different route out of the city and did not follow the original path.
As night fell, the vehicle stopped on an abandoned bridge.
Below the bridge was a dry riverbed, covered with a large number of pebbles, among which lay the corpses of various mutated fish.
With a wide view that was defensible, Lu Chen ordered his n to use abandoned cars to create barriers and settled here for the night.
Su Mo opened the car door and imdiately went to see Zhao Changsheng.
Jin Han had helped set up the tent, and after such a long ti, Changsheng lived up to expectations and pulled through.
Su Mo sat in the tent, covering her forehead with her hand, her tone worried, “She’s still very hot.
I’m going to ask Lu Chen for so ice blocks, so she doesn’t get delirious with fever.”
Li Qian’s hand was held tightly by Changsheng.
As he bent down to listen to her murmuring Su Mo’s na, he couldn’t help but feel a mix of laughter and tears.
Su Mo crawled out of the tent and imdiately saw Lu Chen standing by the bridge observing the surroundings.
The night wind was strong, and Su Mo’s hair, which had grown longer, imdiately plastered across her face.
She casually brushed it behind her ear and walked to a spot not far behind him, “Could I get so ice blocks?”
The man looked back and turned to walk towards her.
“Turn around.”
“What?”
“Turn around,” he repeated.
Su Mo, perplexed, turned away from him, her back to his advance.
The touch at the back of her head startled her as his cool fingers weaved through her sowhat dirty hair, gathering it all into his hand before tying it into a ponytail.
“Done,”
Turning back, Su Mo touched the ponytail, her eyes widening in surprise at the two small cherry decorations.
What followed was Lu Chen leaning over in front of her, gently biting her lip, “I will explain everything to you.”
His eyes conveyed sincerity.
Su Mo’s heart softened, her hand caressed his face, and she smiled,
“I’ll be waiting.”
…
After returning with a large bucket of ice, Zhao Changsheng’s face had turned even redder, her nonsensical babble incessant.
Li Qian’s hand was almost deford from her grasping.
Unable to help but laugh and cry, Su Mo expertly wrapped a towel around the ice and pressed it against Zhao Changsheng’s face, “Don’t actually burn yourself stupid.”
“Mhm,” Li Qian said, gently removing the sticky hair plastered to Zhao Changsheng’s sweaty face, his actions tinged with caution.
Su Mo couldn’t help but look up at him, seeing his expression as usual, she lowered her head and laughed quietly at her own sensitivity.
Did Li Qian like Zhao Changsheng?
Forget it.
If that were true, Zhao Changsheng would probably have been sched out of her very underwear.
They looked after Zhao Changsheng together throughout the night and only as the sky began to brighten did her fever recede, and she returned to normal.
Unable to stay awake any longer, Su Mo leaned aside and fell asleep.
Nothing happened throughout the night, and Su Mo was awakened by the soldiers outside reminding them it was ti to set out as the sky fully brightened.
Rubbing her eyes and yawning, she turned and t Li Qian’s gentle gaze from behind his glasses.
Surprised, she sat up, “You didn’t sleep all night?”
“I wasn’t sleepy,” Li Qian replied gently, picking up Zhao Changsheng, who was still in a deep sleep, “We should head out.”
“Mhm,” Su Mo didn’t think much of it, assuming he had stayed awake in case of an ergency.
After packing up, Su Mo didn’t get into Lu Chen’s car, but instead joined Commander Jin Han’s team.
They said if everything went smoothly, they should reach the base by dawn.
Throughout the journey, Su Mo was in a half-sleep state, not feeling well.
When they arrived at the base, the ti was as planned, around 3 a.m.
However, there was still a long line outside for virus checks to enter the base.
After waking up, Su Mo glanced at Zhao Changsheng in Li Qian’s arms, her heart suddenly tensing.
Both she and Li Qian could see the concern in each other’s eyes.
As their car slowly approached the main gate of the base, Lu Chen suddenly picked up the walkie-talkie and gave a few orders.
By the ti it was Jin Han’s turn, soone had co to open a separate pathway for them.
They were given their own line for checks.
The person who ca to welco them was Hu Ding.
Upon seeing Su Mo alight from the car, Hu Ding greeted her without much emotion, “Miss Su, Commander Jin Han, follow ,” offering a familiar welco.
The blatant favoritism made Jin Han flash his gold tooth with a smile, particularly striking against his front teeth, “A mission with Admiral Lu really cos with special treatnt.”
“You still need to go to the distribution hall to submit your materials for tithing,” Hu Ding reminded.
Jin Han waved his hand, “I know, but with double the rewards, there’s nothing to complain about.”
n and won were subject to separate checks.
Accepting the person from Li Qian’s arms, Su Mo entered the testing room, where dical staff were already present and waiting.
Standing anxiously at the side, she watched the doctors scan Zhao Changsheng with their instrunts, but thankfully, the results were good; no virus was detected.
When she ca out with Zhao Changsheng, Hu Ding was already waiting there.
He addressed Su Mo familiarly, “Miss Su, it really has been a long ti.”
Su Mo looked at him with a cold expression, “Does Jiang Hai know about ?”
She bluntly called out the na of the commander who had been promoted, which embarrassed Hu Ding, but he still replied, “Yes, but don’t worry.
As long as you bring back the original specin, you and Admiral Lu won’t have any problems.”
