"My dad said that if I don’t go to kindergarten, I will definitely be a dummy when I grow up and won’t be able to make any money!"

"Then I won’t be able to afford anything my little sister wants!"

"So I must go to kindergarten! That’s the only way I’ll be able to take care of my little sister in the future!"

Xu Kaiyang said with utter conviction, while Zhouzhou’s eyes widened in astonishnt, listening intently.

"Does it cost a lot of money to take care of a little sister?" Zhouzhou asked.

Xu Kaiyang nodded vigorously, "Of course! My little sister needs formula, snacks, and we have to buy her beautiful dresses and shoes. She also needs lots of toys and many, many other things—all of which cost lots and lots of money!"

"Did you sleep with your mom and dad last night?" Xu Kaiyang asked.

Zhouzhou shook his head, then asked softly, "Will I have a little sister soon too?"

The day before, Xu Kaiyang had ntioned that he used to sleep with his mom and dad too, but then his dad asked him if he wanted a little sister and said that if he did, he would have to start sleeping by himself.

Xu Kaiyang started sleeping on his own and later on, he got a little sister.

Zhouzhou thought about it and couldn’t help but wonder if he could take care of a little sister in the future.

But why should he be the one to take care of her? Shouldn’t his mom and dad be the ones to do so?

He was raised by his mom and dad after all.

While Zhouzhou was still puzzled, Xu Kaiyang shook his head, "It doesn’t happen that quickly. When there’s a baby in your mom’s belly, it will slowly start to swell up, like there’s a big waterlon inside."

Zhouzhou’s eyes bulged in disbelief.

Xu Kaiyang, slightly proud, continued, "But it takes a very, very long ti for a little sister to co out of Mommy’s belly."

"How long is that?" Zhouzhou asked.

Xu Kaiyang couldn’t answer right away. After staring at Zhouzhou for a few seconds, he finally said, "A really long ti!"

"So you need to study hard now so that you can earn lots of money later and take care of your little sister!"

Zhouzhou nodded and resolved to study hard, especially since he didn’t have a little sister yet. It would be a very long ti before a little sister was born, and by then, he’d probably be grown up.

When he was grown up, he wouldn’t have to worry about not making enough money to take care of a little sister.

...

Ye Wanwan was at ho watching the surveillance video from the kindergarten when she noticed that the boy nad Xu Kaiyang was always talking to Zhouzhou in class.

Thinking that Xu Kaiyang might be telling Zhouzhou about his little sister, Ye Wanwan was quite speechless.

However, she would never stop Zhouzhou from making friends, especially since that little boy didn’t an any harm at all.

Even if he did sothing unfavorable, she would seriously teach Zhouzhou about right and wrong this ti instead of using her so-called love to restrict Zhouzhou’s freedom to make friends.

By the afternoon, Ye Wanwan appeared on ti at the kindergarten gate and didn’t have to wait long before Zhouzhou’s class was let out.

As they filed out, Zhouzhou had already seen Ye Wanwan. He was too shy to shout out loud, but the smile on his face couldn’t be hidden.

Ye Wanwan could tell that Zhouzhou was very happy that she had co to pick him up.

Xu Kaiyang was still in line ahead of Zhouzhou. Seeing Zhouzhou looking over, he also glanced over several tis.

Then, like a little chatterbox, he turned back around and continued talking to Zhouzhou, gesticulating excitedly—apparently, he was quite thrilled about sothing.

It wasn’t until the teacher called his na that he ran out of the school and upon seeing Ye Wanwan, he shouted enthusiastically, "Hi, Auntie!"
