Ye Wanwan’s eyes widened with both embarrassnt and speechlessness. It took her a long while to complicatedly utter, "That kid nad Xu Kaiyang sure knows quite a lot, huh."
Shen Yi had already approached Ye Wanwan, gently patting her head with his hand, "Go take a shower."
"What did you tell Zhouzhou? You didn’t agree with him, did you?" Ye Wanwan pushed Shen Yi’s hand away, her expression serious as she looked at him.
Shen Yi was just about to speak when Ye Wanwan voiced her thoughts first, slightly agitated.
Finally, Ye Wanwan sighed deeply, looking at Shen Yi earnestly, "I already hurt Zhouzhou in my past life, I don’t want to hurt another child in this life."
Seeing Ye Wanwan so agitated over Zhouzhou’s words, Shen Yi couldn’t help but feel a pang of distress. He reached out and pulled Ye Wanwan into his embrace.
His forceful palm caressed Ye Wanwan’s arm, his chin resting on her head, "I know, I’ve never thought about having another child either, and you don’t have to feel pressured because of sothing Zhouzhou said."
"Zhouzhou is still young and can’t understand what having a brother or sister really ans. In his mind, a sister is more like a toy."
"If you’re worried about Zhouzhou feeling lonely, I can make more ti, and we can spend more ti with him."
"It’s good that Zhouzhou is still young. By the ti he grows up, he’ll gradually need our companionship less."
Ye Wanwan lifted her eyes to look at Shen Yi, filled with emotion; she was very grateful for his understanding.
"Alright, stop looking at with those eyes." Shen Yi raised his hand, brushing Ye Wanwan’s hair back, smiling sowhat helplessly at her.
Suddenly, Ye Wanwan’s lips curved into a smile, "What kind of look am I giving you?"
As she spoke, Ye Wanwan wrapped her arms around Shen Yi’s waist, her chin resting against his chest.
Shen Yi looked down at Ye Wanwan, his expression changing slightly. After a few seconds of eye contact, Ye Wanwan felt embarrassed and was about to let go of Shen Yi but it was already too late.
Shen Yi lowered his head slightly and kissed Ye Wanwan, walking her towards the bed as he did so.
Although Ye Wanwan felt a bit embarrassed about her own initiative, she still tiptoed to reciprocate Shen Yi’s kiss.
...
The next day.
When Shen Yi got up, he accidentally knocked Ye Wanwan’s phone off the bedside table.
With a "clatter," Ye Wanwan also woke up, her voice blurry, "What ti is it?"
"Go back to sleep, I’ll take Zhouzhou to kindergarten," Shen Yi softly said, placing the phone back.
Ye Wanwan mumbled a response, but eventually got up from the bed.
She was still half asleep, sitting dazed on the bed for a while before finally getting down to go to the bathroom to wash up.
It was still early, and everything proceeded in an orderly fashion until breakfast was finished, and the family of three headed out the door together.
On the way to kindergarten, Zhouzhou sat between Ye Wanwan and Shen Yi.
Ye Wanwan could clearly feel Zhouzhou staring at her stomach. Although he said nothing, Ye Wanwan understood the implication.
She was really helpless – what exactly had that kid nad Xu Kaiyang told Zhouzhou?
