Ye Wanwan felt hungry at last and dragged herself out of bed. After a simple wash, she lethargically made her way downstairs for breakfast.

While eating, she couldn’t stop wondering if she said anything odd last night.

But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t recall a thing. Ye Wanwan put down her spoon and sighed deeply in dismay.

"Madam, are you not feeling well?" the servant asked from the side.

The master had specifically instructed before leaving, to check on the madam when she woke up since she had been drinking last night and see if she still had a headache.

Ye Wanwan shook her head but still looked listless, "I’m fine."

After stuffing the last bite of the soup dumpling into her mouth, Ye Wanwan left the dining room and settled down in the living room.

She had barely sat down when the servant approached with the house’s landline phone. "Madam, it’s the master calling."

Ye Wanwan hesitated before taking the phone and answered tentatively, "Hello?"

On the other end, Shen Yi’s voice ca through softly, "Have you had breakfast?"

"Yes," Ye Wanwan responded.

"Do you have a headache?" Shen Yi asked again.

Ye Wanwan shook her head, then realizing he couldn’t see her over the phone, she quickly added, "No headache."

The other side fell silent, as if not used to such idle conversation on the phone, struggling to find sothing appropriate to say.

Ye Wanwan remained silent too, her heart pounding fiercely in her chest.

She worried about whether she said anything nonsensical to Shen Yi last night.

The silence stretched for nearly half a minute until Shen Yi heard soone else’s voice on his end and said, "Well, I should head to my eting."

"Okay," Ye Wanwan sighed in relief. Shen Yi seed normal, so she probably hadn’t said anything she shouldn’t have.

After hanging up the phone, the thought that Shen Yi was busy with work reminded her that she hadn’t even prepared her resu yet.

Ye Wanwan got up from the sofa and headed straight to the study on the second floor. She found her laptop and settled in the study to continue working on her resu.

Ye Wanwan had never worked before, naturally, she had never prepared a resu. Despite the abundance of resu templates online, it took her several hours.

By the ti Ye Wanwan finally had her resu ready and was about to send it out, she paused.

It was at this point, however, that Ye Wanwan still couldn’t decide exactly what she wanted to do.

Ye Wanwan had a degree in Business Administration, but she clearly wasn’t interested in it. There were all sorts of jobs in various industries, yet nothing seed to interest her.

Ye Wanwan felt disheartened. After spending so many hours and finally getting her resu together, she still didn’t know what she wanted to do or which company she wanted to apply to.

...

Shen Yi had no social engagents today, nor did he stay at the company to work overti. Like most of his colleagues, he left the office to beat the evening rush.

Upon arrival at ho, he saw Ye Wanwan sitting on the sofa, absently stuffing fruit into her mouth from a fruit plate, looking quite troubled.

What happened?

Shen Yi walked over, loosening his tie and unbuttoning his shirt, he asked, "What’s got you down?"

Ye Wanwan suddenly heard the voice and turned to see Shen Yi, surprised, "How co you’re back so early?"
