The bedroom was quiet, clearly devoid of anyone else but her.

Ye Wanwan got out of bed, slipped into her slippers, and walked out of the bedroom, intending to look for Shen Yi.

She first headed to the study next door, but upon opening the door, she found Shen Yi was not there. Ye Wanwan then went downstairs and saw only the maids moving about—still no sign of Shen Yi.

Ye Wanwan was puzzled. Why was there no sight of him so early in the morning?

Had he gone to the company?

As she wondered, Ye Wanwan saw a maid approaching and directly called out to her, "Hey, where did Shen Yi go?"

"Madam," the maid greeted her before responding, "The master left last night."

"He left last night?" Ye Wanwan furrowed her brows.

The maid nodded and answered truthfully, "Madam, you had too much to drink last night; you might not have been aware when the master left."

"Did he say anything else?" Ye Wanwan asked, still frowning.

The maid smiled, a hint of envy in her eyes, and relayed to Ye Wanwan exactly what the butler had told them about the previous night.

In a situation like last night’s, if it had been any other household, the male head would have surely been angry, not bothering to ensure that soone took proper care of the mistress!

Ye Wanwan went to sit down on the sofa, her expression slightly troubled.

She rembered asking Shen Yi last night why he was there. Shen Yi had asked her in return if she rembered what day it was.

She hadn’t rembered, and later Shen Yi told her that yesterday was their wedding anniversary.

So, had Shen Yi co back specially for their wedding anniversary?

But not only had Shen Yi not ntioned it to her in advance, but the amount of ti he spent here was also far too short, wasn’t it?

From what the maid suggested, Shen Yi had only stayed at ho for a little over half an hour before he left.

So he had co back especially, just to spend half an hour of their anniversary together?

The more Ye Wanwan thought about it, the more absurd it seed. Shen Yi couldn’t possibly do sothing this nonsensical, could he?

Yet Ye Wanwan also rembered that Shen Yi had changed a lot recently. He had co back specially for her birthday the last ti; it was certainly possible for him to do the sa for their wedding anniversary.

Thinking that Shen Yi might have returned especially for her, Ye Wanwan couldn’t help feeling troubled. What if Shen Yi really had co back just for that?

Shen Yi had carved out ti specifically to spend their wedding anniversary with her, and yet she had been at ho, throwing a pool party with a bunch of fair-weather friends, and to top it off, she got drunk!

Ye Wanwan sighed; no matter how she looked at it, she seed like a heartless jerk.

...

Ye Wanwan was troubled all day, concerned about what to do if Shen Yi really had co back specifically to spend their wedding anniversary with her.

Last ti, after resigning, she purposely went to accompany Shen Yi for a week during his birthday. Then, out of guilt, she was coaxed by Shen Yi and ended up being taken advantage of by him for several days.

How long had it been since she had returned?

Ye Wanwan agonized over it for a long ti without coming to any conclusion. Waiting until the evening, she figured it was about ti for Shen Yi to have also arrived, and sent him a ssage.

However, there was no response from Shen Yi, and Ye Wanwan didn’t know what he was doing; she didn’t want to keep disturbing him.

Ye Wanwan kept thinking about this matter, unable to muster the energy for anything, until Shen Yi finally replied to her ssage, which instantly brought her spirits back up.
