"Oh," Ye Wanwan drew out her tone, looking at Shen Yi on the screen, thinking about how to begin talking.

When Shen Yi saw Ye Wanwan’s hesitant expression, he took the initiative and asked, "What’s wrong? Do you have sothing to tell ? Speak up."

"Yes!" Ye Wanwan nodded forcefully, her speech slow, "There is sothing I want to talk to you about."

But she was too timid, fearing that Shen Yi would scold her, so she hemd and hawed, not daring to speak.

"You say," Shen Yi said.

Ye Wanwan bit the corner of her lip and then took a deep breath, finally blurting out, "Did you know that Qin Yansen disappeared a few days ago?"

"Qin Yansen disappeared?" Shen Yi’s brow furrowed slightly.

He knew that Qin Yansen was Ye Shiying’s fiancé, that man with a violent streak; Wanwan had even tried to convince Ye Shiying not to marry Qin Yansen before.

But he genuinely didn’t know about Qin Yansen’s disappearance. He was abroad and busy with work, and to him, Qin Yansen was just an insignificant person, so he was unaware.

"Yes," Ye Wanwan nodded, then continued, "I’ve received a phone call for the past two nights, and on the call there was a man being beaten and crying out in agony."

"So that’s why you got up so early the day before yesterday. It wasn’t a nightmare at all; you were scared by that phone call!" Shen Yi quickly realized, interrupting Ye Wanwan.

His originally languid expression turned serious.

Ye Wanwan blinked, then nodded, "Yes."

"And then what?" Shen Yi asked in a deep voice.

Seeing Shen Yi’s serious expression, Ye Wanwan felt a bit guilty, her eyes blinking rapidly, then she kept talking.

"When I asked the other person who they were, a woman spoke up. She asked why I wouldn’t save her, why I wouldn’t help her out, and things like that."

"Even though she used a voice changer, her intonation was very familiar. I felt it sounded a bit like Ye Shiying speaking to ."

"I think the man being beaten could very well be Qin Yansen."

She wasn’t completely sure, afraid Shen Yi would wonder how she could be so certain.

"I went back to my parents’ place yesterday, and Ye Shiying and her family were there too. Later I made a tentative inquiry, but she didn’t admit to it. She said she hadn’t called and certainly wouldn’t kidnap Qin Yansen."

"Then this morning, I received the sa kind of call again."

"I called out to Ye Shiying, then I told her that illegally detaining soone is a cri, that she was breaking the law."

"At first she didn’t say anything, then she started laughing loudly. After laughing, she said, when he illegally detained soone, why didn’t anyone care then? When he beat soone to death, why was there no action taken then?"

"She said so other things, but from beginning to end, she never denied that she wasn’t Ye Shiying."

"So I think there’s a high probability that the woman is Ye Shiying, and the man must be Qin Yansen."

After finishing, Ye Wanwan looked at Shen Yi’s expression in the video, even more hesitant to continue.

Shen Yi’s expression was dark; he didn’t know that when he wasn’t by Ye Wanwan’s side, she was being intimidated like this.

But Shen Yi still retained his rationality. Seeing Ye Wanwan’s deanor, he knew she hadn’t finished speaking.

"What happened after that? What else occurred?" Shen Yi’s voice was sowhat hoarse, as if he was restraining his emotions.

Ye Wanwan took a deep breath, "Qin Yansen’s body was found this morning."
