Ye Wanwan didn’t speak, just silently listened to the voice coming from her phone.
However, the man’s wails grew increasingly pained, and Ye Wanwan felt numb all over as she listened, clutching the phone tightly to steady her emotions.
But the person at the other end of the phone hadn’t heard Ye Wanwan’s voice. The woman kept screaming incessantly and then, waving the weapon in her hand, she continued to beat the man until he writhed in agony.
The woman lashed out fiercely, as if exhausting all her strength, and at last, from the phone ca the woman’s panting breaths.
After catching her breath for a mont, the woman asked hoarsely, "Ye Wanwan, why won’t you save ?"
"Why won’t you save ? Why won’t you save ?"
The woman repeated the question again and again, eventually losing control of her emotions and roaring, "Ye Wanwan, why won’t you save !"
Ye Wanwan’s ears numbed from the loudness of the voice; she pinched the phone hard, doing her best to remain calm as she said, "Ye Shiying, do you realize you’re committing a cri?"
"A cri?" The woman seed puzzled, as if she didn’t understand the aning of these words at all.
Ye Wanwan said sternly, "It’s a cri to illegally detain soone, do you understand that!"
"Hahaha..."
Suddenly, the woman burst into loud laughter, as if she had heard an extrely funny joke and couldn’t stop herself.
Her laughter was distorted through the voice changer, sounding oddly eerie, causing Ye Wanwan to feel a chill down her spine.
The woman laughed for a very long ti before stopping. She took a deep breath and said with a laugh, "Then why didn’t anyone intervene when he illegally detained soone? When he beat soone to death, there was no intervention. Why does no one care when he does it! I’m the one illegally detaining! I’m the one committing a cri!"
"Ye Shiying, you still have a choice," Ye Wanwan continued.
Whether she had been reborn or He Qingyun had told her about her past life, Ye Shiying still had a choice.
Everything could start over; she could still change her life!
"There are no more chances," the woman on the other end of the line suddenly said calmly.
Ye Wanwan wanted to say more, but a "beep beep beep" sounded from the phone—the call had been hung up.
Looking at the disconnected call, Ye Wanwan sighed deeply and frowned slightly, clearly anxious.
At this mont, she truly didn’t know what to do.
But if Ye Shiying insisted on dragging her into this ss, she would have no choice but to call the police.
Ye Wanwan turned off the light and lay back down on the bed, but now sleep eluded her, her mind racing with various thoughts as she attempted to figure out a suitable solution.
However, Ye Wanwan couldn’t co up with one, and as ti ticked away, drowsiness overtook her, and she fell asleep unwittingly.

Waking up in the middle of the night, when Ye Wanwan woke up again, the sky had already brightened considerably.
Ye Wanwan paused briefly, then quickly picked up her phone, and upon checking the ti saw that it was already past nine in the morning. She quickly calculated the ti difference—over at Shen Yi’s place it must be after three in the morning!
"Damn," Ye Wanwan felt sowhat helpless; she had perfectly missed the ti for a video call with Shen Yi.
It was now past three in the morning for Shen Yi. She didn’t know whether Shen Yi had rested or if he had been waiting for her the whole ti.
After much thought, Ye Wanwan still sent Shen Yi a ssage, just in case he was foolishly waiting for her.
