"Thank you, Mr. Shen." Assistant Chen bowed slightly to show his gratitude.

As he turned to leave, Assistant Chen stopped again and looked back at Shen Yi, who was working earnestly, "Mr. Shen, once you’re done, please go back and rest early as well."

Perhaps finding it sowhat strange, Shen Yi ceased his actions and looked up at Assistant Chen, but only saw the latter’s retreating figure as he exited the office.

Soon after, Shen Yi shifted his gaze back down and continued to flip through stack after stack of docunts.

It wasn’t until ten o’clock in the evening that Shen Yi turned off his computer and left the office, by which ti the rest of the office area was devoid of people.

When he arrived back at his apartnt, it was just half-past ten. Shen Yi sighed softly and first took off his suit jacket, then proceeded to untie his necktie.

He then seated himself on the sofa, leaning back and closing his eyes, the image of exhaustion.

The apartnt was quiet, yet suddenly Shen Yi’s eyes snapped open, his expression turning alert and dangerous.

His eyes stayed open while his ears listened intently.

He had just heard a noise from the bedroom!

Shen Yi sat motionless with his eyes wide open, listening for a good while before he finally straightened up and stood.

Looking in the direction of the bedroom, he confird soone was inside. The sounds were faint, but he heard them.

Shen Yi glanced around the living room; it looked the sa as before, without a single sign of disturbance.

Tiptoeing carefully, trying not to make a sound, Shen Yi moved toward the bedroom.

But before Shen Yi could get there, the bedroom door suddenly flung open. Shen Yi tensed into a defensive posture, only to freeze completely when he saw the person standing at the door.

As their eyes t, Shen Yi was transfixed and speechless for a long while.

It was Ye Wanwan who, rubbing her eyes and sounding a bit muffled, said, "Shen Yi, you’re back."

Shen Yi remained silent, staring at Ye Wanwan with a look of sheer disbelief, unable to accept that what he was seeing was real.

Ye Wanwan yawned and walked toward Shen Yi, saying, "I was waiting for you, but I got too sleepy and accidentally dozed off."

Ye Wanwan pouted, seemingly a bit unhappy.

"How did you get here?" Shen Yi, still in disbelief, kept his gaze fixed on Ye Wanwan.

"Hmm hmm," Ye Wanwan giggled foolishly and wrapped her arms around Shen Yi’s waist, then looked up at him, "I ca to see you."

Shen Yi was also looking down at Ye Wanwan, his focus so intense that it seed like he hadn’t heard her at all.

Ye Wanwan asked again, "Surprised?"

This ti Shen Yi heard her, but he still didn’t respond to Ye Wanwan’s question; instead, he bent down and kissed her lips.

"Mmph!" Ye Wanwan, startled by the sudden kiss, tensed reflexively.

But that was only for a mont; she soon relaxed and clumsily responded to Shen Yi’s kiss.

After what seed like an eternity, when Ye Wanwan was almost out of breath, Shen Yi stopped without pursuing the kiss further.

Still, Shen Yi and Ye Wanwan remained forehead to forehead. Shen Yi spoke with a husky voice, "Why didn’t you tell you were coming?"

"It’s a surprise, of course I couldn’t tell you beforehand." After saying that, Ye Wanwan added righteously, "Besides, I had to check in on you, so I certainly couldn’t tell you in advance, huh!"
