Murmurs instantly ceased as soon as October’s voice sounded in the hallway. In less than a fraction of a second, all eyes turned to her. October was not bothered at all by their feverish gazes for she only stared at the woman who was standing arrogantly in the elevator.
October’s elegantly curved brows furrowed for a mont and a flash of annoyance filled her eyes but it soon faded in a blink of an eye. It was so fast that no one was able to catch a glimpse of her inner turmoil.
She also does not know why but the woman before her just irks her so much. She was surprised herself that she was feeling this way to soone she had just t for the first ti. Why? October was really confused, but even so, she still wore a blank face.
"What is going on here? What are you doing there?" Assistant Yu stepped in for his young madam.
October took a step back at this mont while also scanning the crowd in the process. And sure enough, all eyes were on her. Their eyes were that of curiosity, envy, admiration, and a lot more in which she could not recognize. But what made her even more skeptical was the whispers that sounded from ti to ti at her back.
"Isn’t that the woman that our CEO was with?"
"Oh. Right. He said about her being his wife."
"Yes, yes. But why is it that another lady ca in and claid that she was—"
"Sshhh!"
The gossiping female employees stopped their gossiping when one of them noticed October looking at them. Soon, they shivered in fear and turned pale. They started to curse themselves and wanted to slap themselves for running their mouths freely.
’Oh no. We’re screwed. We’re going to lose our jobs.’
October looked at the two gossiping employees for a good mont before returning her gaze toward the lady in purple.
"Wh-why are you here?!"
Suddenly, Assistant Yu’s frantic voice that went up was heard. There was panic in it but it was more on frustration and annoyance. He looked at the lady in purple with incredulity and a throbbing sensation started to gnaw on his head.
’Why is she here? Ah~! My head is spinning.’
October raised her brow at Assistant Yu’s reaction. She was a little surprised to see Assistant Yu looking disturbed and irritated especially to ladies. She could tell from all these that he knew the lady in purple.
So who is she?
"Ah! Assistant Yu! Finally, you ca! I did not know that you would co and fetch ." Lu Xing giggled shyly as she twirled her hair candidly as her face turned pink. "I didn’t know that he would know about my surprise visit today. Aiya, he’s so sweet."
’What is she saying? Co and fetch her? When did I do that?’ Assistant Yu was besides himself as he almost bit his own tongue at the absurdity of the things that Lu Xing was spouting.
"Miss Lu, I am not here to fetch you." He said with a look of impatience in his face. He just wanted to let this annoying woman go away and let his young madam pass.
However, things just would not go the way Assistant Yu wanted.
"Yes, of course. He must be shy and does not want to know that he had already known about my surprise to him." She let out a dreamy sigh. "He is so sweet and caring to that I could lt. Oh no, what am I saying. Co, Assistant Yu, let’s et my fiancé together."
Lu Xing was so excited, her heart was pounding rapidly in her chest as if it wanted to jump out of her chest. She just could not contain the elation she was feeling right now. She felt so blessed and loved.
’I’ve finally achieved my biggest goal in life: to be the wife of Lexus Song.’ Her smile widened even more as she let herself be pulled toward the clouds of imagination.
"Fiancé? Who?" As soon as he heard that word, Assistant Yu felt that sothing was wrong and that sothing bad will happen.
"Oh silly, of course I’m talking about Lex." Lu Xing smiled sweetly at Assistant Yu, blooming radiantly like a flower. She was so blinded by her own excitent that she was not able to notice the frown on Assistant Yu’s face nor the dark and ominous gaze of the person standing behind Assistant Yu.
"What are you talking about? Stop your nonsense." Assistant Yu was so terrified at what he had just heard from Lu Xing’s mouth. He even wondered if Lu Xing had finally snapped and turned crazy.
At that thought, a chill run down Assistant Yu’s spine. There was a cold and biting chill that continued to blow from his back and he knew who it was without even turning his head back. He swallowed hard in fear and his face turned pale.
He turned to October to explain for his boss, "Young madam, this is not what it looks like."
"Assistant Yu, why are you being like this? I am not talking nonsense." Lu Xing stomped her foot again on the floor in irritation. She was not happy about the reaction that ca from Assistant Yu. "I have already been acknowledged by Lexus’ grandma. I am the fiancée of Lexus."
’Why do I have to explain so much to this lowly assistant? Lexus is the only one who could understand .’
Her sharp eyes then turned to the person that was standing quietly behind Assistant Yu. But as soon as she saw October, she felt as if she had just experienced the cold north. Her imposing manner that brims with confidence and elegance that was drilled into her bones were that of a monarch. She was poised and calm but quiet eyes that seed to observe everything in every detail. But most of all, her impeccable beauty that was smooth and seemingly soft to the touch, elegant brows, pink lips and her dazzling eyes that was more brilliant than any other gems.
For the first ti, Lu Xing was backed in a corner by October’s ice cold beauty. She felt threatened and a crisis in herself rose. ’If Lexus would et this woman, there would be a possibility that he would get attracted to her. This...I could not accept!’
October, who was quiet the whole ti, finally decided to open her mouth.
"Assistant Yu, do you know this person?" Her calm eyes that would sotis flicker landed on Assistant Yu’s body, making him shiver in fear.
He swallowed a nonexistent lump in his throat with difficulty before answering her, "Y-yes, young madam."
Lu Xing’s ears perked up when she heard Assistant Yu address October as "young madam." Her eyes turned sharp while looking at October.
"Mm." October rely nodded her head before turning her attention to Lu Xing who was openly scrutinizing her from top to bottom.
Silently, she walked toward the elevator exclusive for executives and said, "Let the fiancé co with ."
Assistant Yu flinched and cold sweats ford at his back as soon as he heard the obvious emphasis of the word "fiancé" from October.
Lu Xing, hearing this, was happy to follow October in the elevator while pushing the rude man who had blocked her several tis. "Good. I have finally found soone so sensible in this company."
