The event was a huge success. Skyla bought tons of stuff, t all her favourite voice actors and took pictures with them. She also keenly observed which characters were trending and what stuff most people had used for their costus.
So many fellow cosplayers complinted her costu and the tiny details she had engraved in her get-up.
She bought a few gifts as well, for Huria, Lawrence, Amsilia, Mada Maven and of course her boss. There were so food stalls so Skyla bought so ran noodles. Lawrence wanted to get so selfies with female cosplayers so Skyla let him have his fun and moved away to look for Zyair.
She returned to Erdith’s stall and she inford her that Zyair had stepped outside. Only then did Skyla realise that he must be feeling overwheld amidst so many females.
Walking outside she found him leaning against their rented limousine with his arms crossed.
"Sir!" she called out and he jerked himself free of whatever thoughts had entangled his attention. Zyair glanced in her direction and deeply scowled seeing her alone.
"Where is Lawrence? Why are you alone?" He made a ntal note to chide him later for laxing in his duty.
"It’s alright. He is inside, I just wanted to bring you so ran noodles." She stepped closer but still kept a distance of three feet while extending the carrier tray towards him. It held a pot of piping hot ran.
"Oh! That’s very thoughtful of you. Thank you." Zyair was not fond of instant or junk food but he would never say no to her. He had completely stopped eating instant noodles but would surely make an exception for her. He accepted with gratitude. His heart fluttered slightly as his hungry eyes drank her again. The black hair suited her so well too, even though it was a wig she looked pretty.
"No problem, these heels are killing so I will sit down and enjoy my ran," she almost wobbled towards the other side of the car and settled inside, facing away from him so he could eat.
"So did you enjoy the event?" Zyair asked, using the chopsticks to plop so noodles in his mouth.
"I loved it, I bought so much stuff. Lawrence wouldn’t let carry it though so it’s with him." Although Lawrence had insisted on paying as Zyair had instructed him, Skyla didn’t let him. She wanted to pay for her own stuff and not leech off her boss.
"That makes happy, Miss Skyla." Both conversed with ease while facing away from each other. He wanted her to enjoy herself as much as she could, sadly they had to head back the next day.
After eating Skyla took off her shoes and draped herself back in his jacket. She had no plans of returning inside, she was tired. So Zyair called Lawrence and their chauffeur and decided to head back.
Lawrence arrived with bags filled with stuff they had bought and slumped himself on the seat while dumping the bags.
"Man, I am stocked. So many pretty girls and perfect cosplays."
"This was an out-of-the-world experience," Skyla interjected as Lawrence handed her the bags with her stuff. His head then turned to Zyair and his eyes narrowed seeing an empty ran bowl in his hands.
"Did you eat instant noodles?"
"Yes!" He answered without a care.
"Pray tell how? Whenever I ask you to accompany to noodle houses you always refuse with an excuse that you do not eat them." Lawrence hastily scowled and Skyla’s heart sank a bit. She should have asked instead of assuming.
"I am sorry, it’s my fault. I didn’t know," Skyla was quick to apologise and Zyair sent a threatening glare Lawrance’s way.
Did he have to open his big mouth and embarrass her?
"You don’t have to be. Lawrence here doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut." The irritation in Zyair’s eyes didn’t diminish.
Lawrence quickly apologised, "Sorry! What I ant was..." Lawrence didn’t even complete his sentence because another glower followed which furrowed Zyair’s brows in further annoyance.
"You know, never mind. Here I brought you sothing," Lawrence tried to ease the situation by giving him the gift he had bought.
Throwing one final furtive glance, Zyair accepted it. Skyla cautiously watched them as Zyair opened what Lawrence had brought. It was a tallic keyring featuring Ichigo, one of his favourite ani characters and his anger dissipated.
"Thanks! I appreciate it," Zyair thumped his back and Lawrence let out a sigh of relief and rolled his eyes a bit. Skyla bit her lip to avoid laughing.
"Here, Miss Skyla. This is for you," he handed her a small blue bag. She accepted with a gracious smile and opened it revealing a Kakashi-thed notebook.
"Wow, I love this. Thank you, Lawrence. This was very sweet of you." She couldn’t contain her excitent, the smile on her face kept widening.
"You are welco."
"Here I brought you sothing as well." She handed him a bag with Naruto’s logo on it.
Lawrence excitedly opened it to stare at Killer Bee’s action figure.
"Yah!!! I always wanted that for my office. It’s so cool." He held out the figure and showed it to Zyair as well; who was filled with admiration at her choice too.
"Here, a tiny sothing as a token of my gratitude for everything you have done for ," she extended a small teal bag towards Zyair with electricity crackling on it as a design. A shy smile was erupting on her beautiful face.
Zyair was stuck with the lightning of disbelief. He never thought she would bring him a gift as well. When he did not attempt to accept it her smile began to falter making him step out of his stupid qualm and quickly take it from her.
"You didn’t have to Miss Sklya," he indistinctly said, retrieving a small black box from it.
"I wanted to." Skyla was unable to read her boss’s eyes and the mask made it impossible for her to understand his emotions. But his delayed action revealed he wasn’t pleased.
The anxiety began to rise inside her and she could no longer breathe fully until he lifted his head. His eyes burnt with a fervour she had hardly encountered before.
Was he happy or furious?
The Kakashi lapel pin she had bought for him rested on the palm of his hand now.
"It’s going to be my favourite pin. Thank you, Miss Skyla."
Did his voice sound too raspy or was it her imagination?
And her na he always purposely paused after Miss before saying Skyla and that twinkle in his eyes followed.
