Amsilia entered the boutique her friends had been referring to for quite a while now. It had an air of sophistication and regality to it. The mannequins were adorned in high trendy fashion attires but what piqued her interest was, that most of them were vintage outfits, the kind Amsilia had been looking for.

They were not outrageous, not gaudy but simple and yet elegant. Perfect for a woman her age.

She was still enthralled by the variety of designs and fabric when a girl walked up to her dressed in a sage green pantsuit. She asked with a broad smile on her face.

"Good afternoon ma’am. May I help you?"

"Good afternoon, young lady. Yes, I am going to try so of these apparels. You have so good-quality ones. I am impressed." Amsilia was full of admiration.

Herself belonging to a prestigious family she had never been short on money. With the way her life had turned out, she knew she had to be self-sufficient. Not relying on her husband or son.

Even when Doran lost a huge amount of money due to his incompetence, she didn’t offer her assistance, letting him handle it on his own. He needed to learn the importance of earning money using his skills and not be dependent on what his father had left him.

The setback was needed to bring his ass from cloud nine to the ground. After how he treated his wife, Amsilia knew she had failed as a mother to him but she would be damned if she accepted his behaviour. The years that she had to leave her house and son behind cost her dearly.

"Yes, it’s Mrs. Kincaid’s first gold collection," the girl inford her. Gold Collection was specifically designed keeping in mind won aged 50 or older.

The na Kincaid spiked her interest. She knew Skyla was working for Kincaid International. Even Doran’s company had co under Kincaid’s wing now.

Both won had crossed paths a few tis but their husbands being arch rivals, they never had the opportunity to sit beside each other and have a proper conversation.

"I am Mrs. Blackthorn. Is Mrs. Kincaid available today? She is the one holding today’s luncheon, right?" Amsilia curiously asked, turning to the girl.

"She is, would you like to et her?"

"Yes, please."

The girl led her inside towards the back room. It was like a vast hall with cream-coloured calback sofas artistically placed under soft white lights. A glass-centre table with a marble beaker vase elegantly perched in the centre.

Calla lilies had been neatly arranged inside it.

The white and gold curtains hung against the railings with Cartier diamonds.

The room had that subli ambience to it and Amsilia loved the feel. A graceful lady in a creamy gold dress was checking the arrangents as her workers were placing champagne and starters on the side tables.

The girl approached her and respectfully stated.

"Ma’am, Mrs Blackthorn is here to see you."

ena was slightly amazed. What were the odds that she had just been talking about this woman and she had decided to walk inside her boutique?

She turned to face the other woman and offered her a warm smile before extending her hand.

"What a pleasure to have you here, Mrs. Blackthorn."

Amsilia cordially shook her hand and answered with her charming smile.

"Indeed, I didn’t know you started a business or I would have dropped by earlier. Never got a chance to make proper acquaintance with you."

ena understood the slight pain in her words and guided her to the calbacks.

"Please, have a seat so we can talk in peace."

Both won sophisticatedly settled down and ena asked.

"What would you like to have? Let’s get so drinks first."

"Whatever is available. Thank you," Amsilia answered, placing her bag on the table.

Once ena had ordered the drinks for them she faced Amsilia and both won got talking.

"I guess you must have heard of Kincaid’s passing," ena asked with a slow sigh. ntion of her husband was still a sour topic.

"I am sorry for your loss. Accept my condolences," Amsilia placed her hands on ena’s as both won silently sent a prayer and passed an understanding.

"Thank you! He was ever thoughtful. This boutique was left for so I could keep myself busy. I brought in my ideas and made this all about the won of my age. We need our special boutique, don’t you think?" she winked at Amsilia who couldn’t help but giggle with her hand against her mouth.

"That’s indeed smart. My friends kept referring to your boutique but they never told it was yours. Maybe, they thought because our husbands were rivals we couldn’t be civil to each other. Or I would refuse to co. I have no rivalry with you, Mrs. Kincaid. I actually loved your place and what you have down with it."

The server arrived with their drinks and both won accepted with gratitude before continuing with their conversation which shifted to Zyair and Skyla.

"My son and daughter-in-law are both working under your son now. She was all praises about the professionalism of the company and her boss. Mr. Kincaid seed to have trained him well."

Amsilia politely praised, taking a small sip of her champagne. Her ankles were elegantly crossed.

"Zyair is everything one can hope for in a son. We never had a child of our own but Zyair was a godsend in our lives and has taken the business and company to new heights. With B-Couture under his wing too, I am sure both our sons and your daughter-in-law will only thrive."

"Let’s toast for the success of younger generations and to the prospect that we oldies will et more often now," Amsilia cheerfully replied and both won clinked their champagne flutes together with warm smiles.

Soon they were lost in their conversations, learning slowly how much both of them had in common, from their love for vintage clothing down to their favourite actor and songs.

A healthy friendship budded that day which was only going to grow with each passing one.
