Chapter 190: 190: Textile Couple Jointly Sches Against Luo Family Father and Daughter (Part 2)

Zhou Xufang explained, “Because she’s pregnant.”

“Pregnant so she has to run away?” What kind of logic is that?

Zhou Xufang continued to explain, “She’s afraid that Gu Yingjun won’t want the baby.”

“‘President Gu, Your Delicate Wife Ran Away with the Ball Again’ is a story where in the first half, the male protagonist thinks he doesn’t love the female protagonist and desperately tornts her; in the second half, he realizes he has fallen in love with her, and she starts tornting him.”

“Who is Gu Yingjun?” Such a stupid na, it sounds idiotic just by hearing it.

Zhou Xufang: “The male lead.”

So: “Why doesn’t he want the baby?”

Zhou Xufang, watching, eating, and explaining the ins and outs to Jiang Zhi, said, “He thought he didn’t love Chu Manman.”

The projector was showing the scene where Chu Manman tearfully left the country while pregnant. Zhou Xufang was deeply moved by it and felt that Chu Manman had it tough, hoping the author would sooner tornt Gu Yingjun.

Jiang Zhi’s focus was still on the logic of the plot, “He doesn’t love her but gets her pregnant?” He comnted, “Scumbag.”

Zhou Xufang: “…”

She felt she needed to speak on Gu Yingjun’s behalf, “They’re husband and wife.”

Jiang Zhi firmly grasped the logic, “Isn’t that the one he doesn’t love? How can they be husband and wife?”

“Gu Yingjun married Chu Manman to get revenge on his first love.”

“To marry one woman because of another woman,” Jiang Zhi persisted with his assessnt, “Scumbag.”

Zhou Xufang: “…”

Alright.

He is kind of scummy.

She decided not to discuss the scumbag issue with Jiang Zhi anymore and asked him, “If I were to run away with the ball, would you search the whole world for like Gu Yingjun?”

She felt all Jiang Zhi had to do was nod.

But Jiang Zhi’s focus was always different from hers, “First, we’d need to get a ball to find out.” He put down his ice cream and suddenly licked his lips, “Shall we make one?”

Zhou Xufang: “…”

Ah! He’s seducing her again!

Zhou Xufang, hugging her ice cream, moved close to the couch. It was broad daylight, and they needed to be proper.

The rain had stopped outside, and the clouds hadn’t dispersed. It was only three or four in the afternoon, but it looked like evening.

Jiang Zhi stood up to grab the car keys, “Xu Fang.”

She was still watching the TV, “Mm.”

“Stop watching, let’s go out.” He walked over and stretched out his hand to her.

Zhou Xufang obediently took it, “Where to?”

Jiang Zhi led her out the door, “To the supermarket.”

“What for?”

“To buy you snacks.”

Zhou Xufang was overjoyed, “Okay.”

At this ti, and on a Monday no less, the supermarket was not crowded.

Jiang Zhi pushed the cart with one hand and held Zhou Xufang’s with the other, asking the store clerk in front of the freezer, “Which one doesn’t contain eggs?” Because Zhou Xufang couldn’t have eggs, they had to buy the kind of ice cream without them.

The clerk was a man who seed quite interested in Jiang Zhi’s hair, looking over and over again, “Those over there don’t have any.”

Jiang Zhi picked up two tubs of ice cream and put them in the cart, then went next door to grab so AD Calcium Milk. Zhou Xufang glanced at the cart which was already overflowing, “You’re buying too much; we won’t be able to carry it all back.”

He picked up four packs of AD Calcium Milk, “The supermarket delivers.”

Zhou Xufang thought he was acting strangely, “Don’t you normally say not to eat too many snacks? Why are you suddenly buying so much?”

Because you’ve never eaten them before.

Because you didn’t even have candy in your childhood.

Jiang Zhi, through the mask, pecked her forehead, “Because I spoil you.”

Just then, another custor walked by.

Zhou Xufang imdiately pushed Jiang Zhi away, moving her hands behind her back like an old lady, her face wearing an expression that read ‘I’m a decent person, I didn’t do anything.’

Jiang Zhi laughed, earning a glare from her.

When it was ti to pay, a middle-aged couple in front of them, likely people who had seen ‘big storms’, were naturally checking out with family planning products.

The square boxes caught Zhou Xufang’s eye. She felt shy and quickly turned away, but then seed to rember sothing and sneakily shifted her gaze back, pretending to be casual, stealing a glance once, twice, three tis…

Jiang Zhi caught her, “Don’t you know what that is?” He whispered in her ear.

Zhou Xu’s ears felt hot, “…I know.”

Jiang Zhi chuckled, “If you know, why do you keep staring?”

She was curious.

It was because Gu Yingjun had burst that thing, which led to Chu Manman running with the ball for the second ti; Zhou Xu found it fascinating and sneaked another glance.

Jiang Zhi simply grabbed two boxes and tossed them into the cart, “Don’t look anymore, you can have your fill at ho.”

Zhou Xu: “…”

After paying, they had to wait for the supermarket staff responsible for packing to co over. Jiang Zhi was signing the papers, while Zhou Xu stood against the wall, took out her phone, and was about to play a ga. She had just opened the ga when soone bumped into her from behind.

Her phone slipped out of her hand, but she quickly bent down and caught it.

On the other hand, the person who had bumped into her dropped a big bag of things. He squatted down, picked everything up in a hurry without lifting his head, and quickly walked away after gathering his items.

“Wait a minute,” Jiang Zhi approached.

The man looked up, revealing a red bean-sized mole at the corner of his mouth.

Jiang Zhi pulled Zhou Xu to her side. The man was wearing a mask that covered his face, his voice concealing a hint of amusent, and it was hard to discern his feelings, “Not going to apologize?”

Peach blossom eyes full of wild vigor.

Not apologizing and still wanting to leave?

That was the ssage.

The man adjusted the duckbill cap on his head and bowed, “Sorry.” After apologizing, he hastily left.

Jiang Zhi chided, “I tell you not to wander off and you don’t listen, stop playing gas.” She decisively pulled Zhou Xu into her arms, fearful she might get bumped again, and kept her close wherever they went.

On the way back, Jiang Zhi received a call from Qiao Nanchu.

“The eting ti between Luo Changde and Peng Zhongming has been set.”

Zhou Xu was playing gas in the passenger seat.

Jiang Zhi inquired, “What ti? Where?”

Qiao Nanchu replied, “Nine o’clock tonight, at Hongjiang Bridge Cave.”

After hanging up, Jiang Zhi took another call at the traffic light intersection.

It was a man: “Mr. Jiang.”

Jiang Zhi glanced at the passenger seat, freed one hand and propped Zhou Xu’s head, pushing her back, “Don’t stay too close, it’s bad for your eyes.”

“Oh,” Zhou Xu moved a bit further from the screen.

Jiang Zhi asked the person on the phone, “Any movent?”

The man answered respectfully, “Luo Qinghe has changed the eting ti under the na of Luo Changde.”

“What ti?”

“Eight o’clock, the location hasn’t changed.”

This father and daughter, both as cunning as foxes.

Jiang Zhi’s lips curved slightly, “Ti it right, let Luo Changde know he’s being played.”

“I understand.”

After hanging up, Jiang Zhi glanced at the ti and lifted Zhou Xu’s drooping head a bit higher, “I can’t join you for dinner.”

Zhou Xu had just finished a ga round, “Are you busy tonight?”

A slight smile played on his lips, “Going to watch a show.”

“What kind of show?”

“A dog-eat-dog show.”

Zhou Xu had overheard so of the phone conversation and guessed, “Aren’t you taking with you?”

He wasn’t particularly keen on taking her; the affairs of the Luo family were all dirty, and he didn’t really want her to get involved, “Do you want to go?”

Zhou Xu nodded.

At another set of traffic lights, as the car stopped, Jiang Zhi turned to look at her. The dim winter evening was heavy, the streetlight on the left was on, casting its light into his eyes and reflecting Zhou Xu’s image in his pupils, “Then I’ll take you.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than Zhou Xu’s phone chid.

An email had arrived, only Shuangjiang would send her emails.

After reading it, Zhou Xu told Jiang Zhi, “I’m not going to watch the show.”

“What’s happened?”

She showed him the photo on her phone, “I’m going to intercept soone.”

The email from Shuangjiang contained information about Peng Xianzhi; the person in the photo was the very man Zhou Xu had just seen at the supermarket, with a mole at the corner of his mouth.
