"Did we?" Reed’s jaw clenched. "Or did our biology make it for us?"

Reed stood too and stepped closer. "Asher—"
"Don’t." I backed away. "Don’t try to make this into sothing it’s not. You wanted to dominate , to prove I was yours and to make submit. Well, congratulations, you won."
Reed stood in front of and bared his teeth.
"From now on," Reed said quietly, his grey eyes boring into mine, "you belong to . The mark proves it. The bond proves it. Everyone at that Academy is going to know you’re mine."

"It’s a promise." Reed said before turning his back on . "Now let’s go, we have a lot to figure out before sunrise."
He turned and walked toward campus but I stood there for a mont longer, touching the mark on my throat and feeling the bond pulsing in my chest. Reed had claid , marked , made his and I had no idea what ca next.
