’A younger sibling. Soone who would take my father and mother away from . I do not want that! They are already heading further and further away from . I need to stop them from getting a younger sibling.’
Jas was too young to know how kids were made, but he was smart enough to know that it involved a pair being alone.
Since that was the case, the kid had a brilliant idea of crashing his parents’ alone ti so they couldn’t get him a younger sibling.
Jas’s plan started the second his parents returned.
"Father, can I sleep with you tonight?"
Jas asked as he dragged his blanket behind him and toward his father. He looked as innocent as possible so his father would not question him.
"You want to sleep with and Sharon tonight? Well, sure?"
Daniel agreed without much complaint. The older looked sorry for leaving him alone when he went out for dinner.
It had not been intentional. Daniel had...just forgotten that he had a son when he had seen Sharon cry, and as a result, his son felt neglected.
He was ready to comfort his son and let them all sleep together, but Sharon looked uncomfortable with Jas’s presence.
Sharon’s face looked unwell, and she even flinched when Jas approached her.
"Mother, are you alright? Does anything hurt-"
Jas asked as he reached out to his mother. But the woman was in a weird mood and smacked that hand away before she realized what had happened.
Silence descended across the room, and no one knew what to say.
Daniel looked at the tense air around him with a sign. He had realized that things had gone beyond repair for the day. So, he decided to call it a truce.
"It would be best if we sleep in different rooms tonight. Sharon, have a nice night. I will head out with Jas now. I will see you in the morning."
Sharon’s face looked startled and angry. She was making a face that made her look mad and angry at him.
Everything in Daniel told him to take his words back and tell Sharon that he would spend the night with her. But Jas’s sad and depressed expression tugged at the alpha’s heart.
His son had the sa face as his wife did, and that did a lot for Danel. He could never put his son second at such a ti.
Finally, Sharon realized what she was getting angry about, so she took a deep breath before walking to her room.
"I guess I better go to sleep now. I am not feeling good at the mont. I need more rest..."
Sharon looked back one last ti, hoping to see one of the pair calling or her to co back and work things out.
But she did not get a single call back, causing the oga to huff and slam the doors of her room shut. She did not want to be seen by anyone for now.
Jas cringed as he watched the oga behave like this. He had never seen his mother’s thesis so sensitive and irritated.
Even Daniel looked helpless as he wanted to keep heading after Sharon, but his son’s face and presence stopped him.
In the end, Daniel sighed before he turned to look at Jas’s uncomfortable expression.
"Let’s head in now, Jas. I am sure you feel tired by now. We should go to sleep now."
Daniel extended his hand to his son, and Jas took it. But not before he looked at his mother in the direction of his father and disappeared before he looked at his father with a miserable expression.
"Does Mother hate now? She was so cold to tonight, and she even pushed away when I tried to help her out. Mother has changed a lot."
Jas complained as he continued to look helplessly in his mother’s direction. He was not the only one who could not understand Sharon’s sudden mood swings.
His father was in a similar position.
Sharon had been lifeless throughout the whole dinner, and she continued to look the sa sulky manner when she returned ho.
The oga was not even in the mood for sweets, and those always managed to cheer her up.
It was almost as if Sharon was sick, but that did not feel right. Daniel had a weird feeling that he should not pry into Sharon’s business if he wanted to keep her happy.
"By the way, why were you waiting for and Sharon? This is no ti for you to be awake. You have school tomorrow."
Daniel asked his son with a sigh. The clock was already hitting midnight, and the young alpha was asleep long before.
Seeing his son awake made Daniel feel worried and annoyed. But his concern was in the end, and he asked his son.
Jas bit his lip, and his eyes got lost in thoughts. Finally, he decided to speak up about what worried him, and his voice reached Daniel.
"Father, you will not have another kid except , right? I do not want a younger sibling, and I-I don’t think I could handle it if you had another one after . Please, promise that you won’t have another kid."
Jas begged earnestly, and Daniel felt his insides go cold.
He had never expected or hoped to have another kid since he wanted to avoid this situation, and that was why he had never talked to Jas about it either.
’Who put this thought into Jas’s head? Tsk, it must be Anabella! That woman needs to keep her nose out of my family matter. How dare she try and worry my son like this?’
Daniel felt frustrated, and his desire to kill Anabella increased. But he held it back and decided to take a deep breath to get himself back under control.
First, he needed to assure his son that nothing would happen and that there wouldn’t be another kid in this house.
It took a lot of ti, but once it was finally done, it was ti for him to go and talk to Anabella.
