Anabella checked the ingredients she had brought before settling on pasta. It was easy to make and required less ti and effort than anything else she knew how to make.

(Mainly because the sauce for the pasta ca pre-made. There was no way Anabella would be able to cook it from the get-go)

"So, we shall start with the sauce. Can you get the cheese while I heat this can of sauce?"

Jas opened his mouth, likely to complain that this was not an authentic ho-cooked al, but he closed his mouth just as quickly when his stomach protested at not being fed.

The kid was too hungry to complain about much, and he quickly ran out to get the cheese from the fridge.

Anabella quickly heated the pan and added so olive oil before tossing the sauce to heat it. Once that was done, she brought out the pasta and boiled it in the sauce to let it soften.

This was not the traditional way to make pasta, but she had been taught to do this by her teacher, known as the internet.

Once it was done, she used the cheese Jas had brought back and helped the kid shred so of it on the food to make it seem like he helped.

Both she and Jas knew that Anabella had just done this to entertain the kid, but neither cared to point it out.

Instead, they enjoyed their food and ate as much as they could.

There was barely any conversation, but the atmosphere was not as horrible as usual. Anabella was slowly getting used to Jas’s company to the point where she did not mind the kid being in the sa space as her.

She cleaned up the dishes (because she knew no one else would) and put them away. Halfway through her task, Jas spoke up.

"Hey, I know you are not close with father and moth...I an, Miss Sharon. But do you think they have been acting weird these days? They are both ignoring and spending much more ti with each other.

Do you think this is normal? Or do I have a point?"

Jas asked as he nervously played with his hands and feet. When asked this question, he looked uncomfortable, but Anabella expected to hear it at least once.

"If you are worried about your father not loving you because he has soone new in his life, don’t worry. I don’t think your father is going anywhere anyti soon."

Anabella assured the kid, but even she was not confident about it.

Daniel was not giving her much reason to be confident in him by leaving Jas alone like this and going out with Sharon whenever he wanted to.

It made Jas bite his lip in agitation, and quickly replied to Anabella.

"No, that is not what I an. I know my father loves , and my mother does. I have no reason to feel left out, yet I feel like that. I was asking if everything was alright with or not. Am I sick in the head or sothing?"

Jas asked in a scared voice. This was not a conversation he should have had with Anabella, an outsider in Jas’s life, but it did not feel he had anyone else he could confide in.

"Well, seeing how I have a stepmother who spends more ti with my father than she ever did with , I guess I can see why you asked this. Now, let think.... hmm, what you feel is normal.

It is normal for kids your age to seek attention and affection, so being ignored can sotis make you feel weird and angry. But you will get over it.

Besides, you need to start getting used to your father and mother having split interests in case you ever get a younger sibling. A kid requires a lot of care and attention from the parents."

Anabella was just pointing out the fact that Jas, but it soured his mood more than Anabella expected.

Jas looked devastated, almost as if the earth had split open to swallow him whole.

"A-Another kid? But my father said that he would never have another kid except . H-He won’t, right? I don’t want a younger sibling."

Jas cried in fear, which Anabella did not feel qualified to deal with.

"Hey, it’s fine! It has not happened yet and won’t happen as long as your father continues to be careful with Sharon. You should talk to him about it. For now, shall we go to sleep? You will feel better tomorrow."

Anabella pointed out as she held her hand out for the kid to take.

Jas still looked upset, but he also looked firm. He would ask his father not to have another kid except him, and he was sure he would agree.

His family only needed one kid, and that was him. Jas was too possessive to let any other kid in his life.

Anabella watched the kid plan and think. She felt that she had done sothing unnecessary that had caused a lot of trouble. She should not have told the kid about a possible younger sibling until his parents raised this topic.

’Ehm, the kid needs to learn and talk things out. There is no need for to feel guilty about what happened.’

Anabella did what was necessary and did not regret her decision. Daniel and Sharon were to assure Jas that he would not be replaced.

As for the possible kid they could have...Anabella was not concerned about it. She had no hope of staying and making this marriage work in the first place, so it did not matter to her whether her husband had one child with his lover or a dozen.

She had only brought up a possibility, but little did Anabella realize that she had opened a can of worms she should have never opened. This question was tornting Jas even more than the Oga could imagine.
