"Do you rember what happened last year?"

He could hear the other person questioning him again, and he frowned when he looked up at the person.

It was unfair that the person was standing while he was sitting on a chair, forcing him to look up at the other person.

"There was the werewolf war last year. What's wrong with it?" Kris asked the person back in a confused tone.

"True. There was a werewolf war last year. And what happened at the end of the war, Sir?"

Kris didn't understand why did Steve keep addressing him with 'Sir' even if it was obvious now that the man didn't like him. However, he chose to ignore that matter.

"The war ended with..." Kris was doubtful when he was about to answer the question, and he even shifted his gaze away from the other man.

Kris was doubtful, and Steve smirked when he saw how the tanned man reacted after hearing his question.

"The war ended with Professor Selena's death, right? She sacrificed herself to end the war when you couldn't even do anything for it. Don't you think that you're so useless for soone who loved you dearly like you are her own son, Sir?"

That was such a harsh question, and Kris looked up with his pair of wide eyes. He started to understand the purple-haired man's intention now.

"Did you... did you bla for Professor's death?" Kris asked the other man in disbelief.

Steve had not made it clear yet, but he could guess what was on the other man's mind.

"You are the only one who deserves the bla, Sir," Steve spoke again. "Ah, it's your boyfriend's fault too. If your boyfriend didn't continue to bla Professor Selena, she wouldn't have committed suicide just to save her son and this stupid world. You two are the ones in the wrong, Sir!"

Steve looked even angrier, and he even pointed his forefinger at the tanned man.

"Don't you know that Professor Selena was the only person in the world that treated so well since the beginning? I'm an orphan, and I don't know anyone other than Professor Selena since I was young. Don't you know how I felt when I heard the news of her death?"

Kris couldn't reply to Steve's question and just stared at the man blankly. Steve was so emotional right now, and it was the first ti he saw the man in that state.

"And you, Sir!" Steve was beyond angry when he once again pointed his finger right in front of Kris's face. "Professor Selena trusted you more than she trusted , and she loved you more than she loved . However, you couldn't do anything to save her! You didn't even know her plan and didn't even shed tears when she just died!"

Steve kept accusing him, and Kris remained quiet.

He had known Steve for a long ti, and they practically grew up together under Selena's care. Kris still had a father back then, but he was closer to Selena and had spent a lot of ti together with Steve as well.

Steve looked up at Selena a lot, and he had been loyal to the lady since many years ago. Steve was indeed loyal, but he was only loyal to the deceased professor, not to Kris. Instead of being a loyal guard to Kris, Steve hated him for not being able to save Selena in the war last year.

Now Kris realized that Steve was only acting in front of him after the female professor died.

It was quite ridiculous, and Kris laughed bitterly. "You bla for that misfortune, and I can accept that. But you even have the heart to kill your own brothers who grew up with you? They are innocent, Steve. How could you kill them all with your own hands?"

Kris still couldn't accept the fact that Steve even killed his own brothers just to revenge on him. He could take the bla for himself, but he couldn't tolerate it that Steve had killed the innocent guards.

"My brothers..." Steve suddenly murmured. "I killed them because they disagreed with . I asked them to join to take revenge on you, but they didn't want to do that. They all were nurtured by Professor Selena as well, but they didn't want to be unfilial sons to her. Instead, they chose to be loyal to you. They are stupid, so I decided to kill them all."

Steve sounded like a madman, and Kris was beyond enraged when he heard the heartless statent from the man he trusted so much.

He tried to free his hands from the bound, but his hands ended up bleeding when the skin forcefully made contact with the rough rope.

"Let go, you bastard! I will kill you with my own hands to avenge my brothers!" Kris shouted at the man, but the man didn't budge at his spot.

"Why do you want to avenge your brothers, Sir? Do you think you have the right to kill ? I'm the one who should kill you for being a useless person who couldn't even save your savior!"

Kris shut his eyes. He indeed failed to save Selena, the one who had been so good to him in the past seventeen years. When he no longer had his mother beside him, and Selena was the one who took care of him and treated him like her son.

"So you kidnapped because you want to kill ?" Kris asked weakly as he opened his hazel eyes again.

His eyes pierced sharply at Steve's eyes, trying to kill the man with his gaze if only he had the ability to do so.

On the other hand, Steve smirked at him before answering, "My plan is not that simple, Sir. I will wait for Mr. Dunn's instruction first before we can do anything with you."

Hearing the familiar last na, Kris threw a look full of curiosity as he asked, "Who is Jaden Dunn?"
