Inside the Qu residence.
"Bai Lu, can you pour a cup of water?" Lin Xiaofei said. She was sitting on the chaise beside the window and massaged her head.
After the what happened yesterday, she was having endless nightmares and didn't catch any sleep and felt extrely tired. She wanted to sleep and stay in her room but currently, there are so pressing matters that were plaguing her mind.
Yesterday, Yu Fangzhu visited her friend, Chu Chu, and peeled the nail on her thumb. Lin Xiaofei didn't think that Yu Fangzhu would co personally.
She expected him to have so of his n to co and do that for him but no… This ti around, Yu Fangzhu was getting bolder and started to co out of his cave and bare his claws to her friend.
Not only that. Out of anger and hatred for him, Lin Xiaofei killed soone.. She was blinded with her wrath and murdered soone in front of people.
At that ti, she planned to go after Yu Fangzhu but the manager ca right at that mont and blocked the doorway. With that, all her anger was directed to the manager who let Yu Fangzhu co and et Chu Chu when her friend shouldn't be receiving any guest with the money she used to buy her freedom.
And yet, the manager was greedy for more gold and wanted to fawn over Yu Fangzhu.
She ruthlessly killed the manager without an ounce of guilt or fear. After all, this wasn't the first ti she used her hands to kill soone to protect what's important to her.
Turning her head to the side, Lin Xiaofei sighed once again before gritting her teeth.
After escaping from the brothel yesterday, Chu Chu, Shen Mo, and Su Tang managed to arrive at the Qu residence without any harm.
Lin Xiaofei told the guard and her maid to rest for a while. They received a huge shock after what they witnessed. They saw her killing soone and might be scarred for life.
As for Chu Chu, Lin Xiaofei took her under her wing and let her stay inside Hong Pei Lou for now. Her life will be targeted by Yu Fangzhu now that she disappeared from the brothel and will persecute her as he suspected that she was involved in the bombing of Tianli cave.
She initially wanted to let her stay in the Qu residence but considering that the Bai sisters are still there and trying to look for sothing that they could use against her, Lin Xiaofei chose Hong Pei Lou over the Qu residence.
Hong Pei Lou might not be the best place to hide but it was a place that was sward by people who kill. She was sure that the staff there won't let anything happen to Chu Chu.
Sighing once again, Lin Xiaofei stood up after Bai Lu handed her a cup of water and drank it.
She opened the door and went to the veranda to gaze at the small pond built outside.
Qu Xing Xu took great attention to make her courtyard peaceful and relaxing. But at the mont, Lin Xiaofei had nothing to feel peaceful about. She can't even relax even for a bit because of the situation she was in.
Learning her head to one of the wooden pillars in the veranda, Lin Xiaofei closed her eyes and sighed. She was about to turn around and go back to her room when she bumped into sothing hard and warm.
A deep chuckle sounded above her head and said, "Is this what they call a warm and loving welco?"
Hearing the familiar voice that sohow sent a delicious shiver in her back, Lin Xiaofei raised her head to see the man who got missing for three days.
"What are you doing here?" She asked in surprise.
"You told to co back ho." Qu Xing Xu said and t her eyes.
Lin Xiaofei drew her eyebrows together and frown, "Too fast." She rembered sending the letter not long after what happened yesterday and yet, Qu Xing Xu arrived too quickly.
"You don't like it?" Qu Xing Xu mischievously smiled and before he could let her comprehend what he said, he tried to change the topic, "The matters I have to take care of is done. I finished it much earlier than I expected. What are you doing out here?"
Lin Xiaofei was silent for a few seconds as she realized that the uneasiness that she was feeling earlier was gone.
"I was bored." She said and wanted to step away and put so distance from him but she felt a hand on her waist, stopping her from moving.
She snapped her eyes at him and Qu Xing Xu chuckled once again, "Bored? From what I've heard so far from Gu Yan, I don't think you should feel bored at all. You have been quite busy while I was away and here I thought you would feel lonely and think of ."
Lin Xiaofei's heart skipped a beat after she heard the last part of what he said. Being reminded of the fact that he occupied her mind more than before was making her feel warm inside.
Unconsciously, the tip of her ears turned red even without her permission and Qu Xing Xu didn't miss to take notice if it.
Qu Xing Xu smiled and whispered, "What's wrong? Why aren't you answering... Were you perhaps lonely while I was away and was thinking of ?"
Snapping out of her thoughts, Lin Xiaofei put her hand on his chest and tried to push but he immovable just like a mountain.
Clearing her throat, she glared at him and said, "I would rather think of anything else than think of yo--"
She didn't get to finish her words when she felt his finger on her lips. It didn't last long as he took it back and with eyes wide, Lin Xiaofei watched as he suddenly raised the finger he used to touch her to his lips.
"I missed you." His voice was soft and almost like a whisper.
