In front of Bai Hua Lou, Lin Xiaofei stepped out of the carriage. Su Tang was beside her and had an uncomfortable look in her face as she looked to her sides to see if anyone were to stop them and call them out for their disguise.
"Young Miss, must we really co here and dress like this?" Su Tang asked Lin Xiaofei who gave her a sideways glance.
"Yes, we must." Lin Xiaofei looked down at her own dress. It was the clothing belonging to a man but it fit her slim figure well and with the bandage wrapped around her chest, there shouldn't be anyone who would be able to tell that she's a female.
Thus, She didn't really understand what was her maid worrying about.
Pinching her index finger, Su Tang hesitated before she said, "But Young Miss, what if the Duke find us out? Won't he think ill of young miss?"
"He can think whatever he likes." She started to walk inside the brothel as she said dismissively.
Lin Xiaofei didn't have to worry about what Qu Xing Xu thinks of her and whether he finds out that she cos here. This was the place where they t, although, he was inside the room across the brothel and they didn't even strike a conversation as it was only their eyes that t.
As for what would Qu Xing Xu thinks of her… Lin Xiaofei frowned. Why would she worry about that? Qu Xing Xu could think of anything about her. It didn't matter as they were only tied because of their plans and marriage contract. Besides, she didn't go to a brothel for male prostitutes so she doubted that he would make a fuss over this.
The person who welcod them was still the manager of Bai Hua Lou, she always had a smile on her face that could make a person cringe at how fake it was.
"Young Master, you ca back!" The manager said when she caught sight of that handso face.
"You... rember ?" Lin Xiaofei asked with a frown.
The manager nodded her head and bead. "Of course! Where would I see anyone with such a good looking face anywhere? Besides, Young Master has been quite generous with us the last ti you visited our Bai Hua Lou."
"I see…" Lin Xiaofei narrowed her eyes before nodding her head once. "Is Chu Chu free right now?"
The manager suddenly hesitated and the smile on her face faltered slightly.
Noticing her change of expression, Lin Xiaofei asked, "A custor is with her right now?"
"Um... yes." The manager replied while averting her eyes.
"I thought the money I gave you was enough for her to stop receiving custors?" Lin Xiaofei harshly said.
The last ti she ca to Bai Hua Lou, Lin Xiaofei ordered her maid to redeem Chu Chu. A considerable amount was given to the manager and Lin Xiaofei expected her friend to leave the brothel. However, to her surprise. Chu Chu didn't leave and continued to stay inside Bai Hua Lou in order to be conspicuous and not let Yu Fangzhu think of anything.
Thus, instead of leaving the quarters of Bai Hua Lou, Chu Chu decided to live there while not receiving any custors as she was no longer working there.
"That… It's just that this Honorable custor is soone we can't afford to offend."
"Where is she?"
"She's upstairs." The manager replied.
Lin Xiaofei asked another question, "What room?"
With the way the young lord was looking at her, the manager felt her knees weak as she gulped down the growing fear inside her.
Then, she said. "The room on the second floor. The one at the farthest end and to your right."
Just as her words landed, she saw the young lord who ca to see Chu Chu walk towards the stairs. She didn't get to stop the young lord as they were too fast. Not even his servant who was beside him could follow closely.
With her brows knitted together, Lin Xiaofei forgot her surroundings as she marched towards the room where the manager told her. She quickened her pace and reached the top of the stairs, and entered the hallway.
Then, she stopped walking. No. All her movents stopped as well her breathing when she caught sight of the person standing at the opposite end of the hallway.
It was Yu Fangzhu.
All the blood in her face was gone as she laid her eyes on him. He looked like he had just co out of the room and was on his way out of the brothel.
With her heart drumming inside her chest, Lin Xiaofei's eyes were filled with thousands of emotions that surged inside her mind.
Why is he here? Lin Xiaofei could slap her face with her question. Of course, he wouldn't co here without a reason.
But his reason to co here didn't bode well for her.
"Young lord!" The manager who finally caught up to her called her. She was panting and when she saw Yu Fangzhu walking from the opposite direction, she bead at him. "Your Highness, you ca out so soon."
Lin Xiaofei almost glared at the manager and wished that she could bash her head against the wall for wanting that vile creature of a man to stay longer.
Yu Fangzhu smiled at the manager and walked faster to reach them when he noticed the other people in the hallway. Only when he was a few feet away from them did he speak. "I only wanted to talk to the beauty and was satisfied with our conversation."
Then, his eyes fell on the handso young man next to the manager. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "And who is this young man beside you?"
Lin Xiaofei stiffened and gritted her teeth. Her hand was tucked inside her sleeve as she held a sharpened hairpin in her hand.
Her eyes were glinting with a murderous glow as she wished she could drive the hairpin to Yu Fangzhu face and stab it several tis until he was filled with holes where his blood would ooze out.
