A month was short.

In the past, one month would pass by Lola like nothing. It wasn’t as if she were being unproductive. If anything, there was never a ti she didn’t do her best.

But in the past month, so many things had happened in her life. That included entering the Zorken family and being introduced to Atlas’s n as the new madam of the family.

After that, she had been training because she wanted to beco soone Atlas could rely on — soone he had confidence in, soone he wouldn’t have to worry about. Hence, she had been joining Izu’s group, as they were the most diligent among the teams.

Although from what she heard, Izu’s group was technically the weakest group the Zorken family had.

On top of the training, she had been reading lessons regarding the Zorken family and the Secret Society. Their history was long and heavy, and if one didn’t pay attention, it was easy to get lost. Not that Lola had a problem with that.

When she married Atlas, she was more than ready to take on the role of his wife. She was ready to disappear from the world and leave everything behind.

Even so, she couldn’t help but think about many things.

Lola tapped her pen against the book before her, her other hand cupping her cheek. After a mont, she blinked back to reality, realizing her mind had been drifting.

"Nothing is going into my head," she muttered. "It’s like my brain is shutting down on ."

Pushing her chair back, she shook her head and stood, walking toward the side counter to make herself a cup of coffee. While waiting, she leaned against the window and gazed outside.

The mont she did, she imdiately saw Haji beating a training dummy as if it had personally wronged him. A shallow breath escaped her, arms crossed as she watched him quietly.

"I can understand his frustrations," she whispered. "Even I feel lost."

Atlas’s territory might look normal, but the manor was filled with experienced people — people who were trained, skilled, and experts in different fields. Izu and his n were known as the weakest group under Atlas, yet Haji couldn’t even beat a single mber of that group.

On top of that... a month had passed, and nothing had happened yet.

While Lola was stuck learning the Secret Society and how to handle the family, Haji had to train endlessly to make himself useful here. After all, if he wanted to protect Lola or the twins — or at least be of use to them — he had to make himself stronger.

That was all.

"But I guess this peace is much better than stressing over our lives," she muttered, inhaling the aroma of the coffee beans. "Because if problems arise, then it’s definitely a problem."

And she would much rather fight boredom than face a life-and-death situation. This was still the Secret Society, and from what she had learned, underestimating it was a huge mistake.

"Besides... we still haven’t found our dearest stalker or who delivered the twins to Atlas’s doorstep."

Lola peeled herself away from the window, made her coffee, and returned to her desk to continue her review.

Ti passed in the study room in utter silence; only the flipping of pages and the occasional sip of coffee broke it.

She had already finished reading the history of the Secret Society and how these secret families had gained their wealth and influence. Today, she was delving into the tiline of recent events involving the Order and what had happened to the Zorken family years ago.

Roughly seven years ago, the Zorken family had nearly disbanded due to a long war between the real heirs. The "rightful" heir, the firstborn nad Nathalie, had fought her sisters to reclaim what she believed belonged to her.

Her sister, whose na was Naylani, fought back fiercely. After all, she had been nad heir by the forr head of the family, which sparked the bitter animosity between the sisters.

And yes, Naylani Zorken... was Zoren Pierson’s mother — Penny’s mother-in-law.

Rightfully, Zoren should have been in Atlas’s position. But because events shifted, Atlas assud the role. And under his leadership, the Zorken family had regained its forr grace and power.

Atlas reclaid the lands the Zorkens had lost, united the other groups that had cut ties with them, and even regained their influence in the council. Before Atlas, the other families disregarded the Zorken representative entirely.

Just then, a knock ca at the door, pulling her attention away. Lola looked up as the door opened and an elderly woman walked in.

Her lips curled into a smile as soon as she saw Sybil.

"Young madam," Sybil greeted with a chuckle, waving her hand dismissively as Lola began to stand. "Please, no need to get up. I was told you might need so help with your lessons, so I ca."

Lola’s frown deepened. "Who told you that?"

"Haha."

"Was it Slater?" she guessed, catching Sybil’s smile. "That guy."

"He’s a little worried you might be bored or need help with your lessons," Sybil said, covering for him. "That young boy is a sweet one."

"A sweet one, I don’t deny... but also nosy," Lola muttered, glancing at the notes she had written. "I don’t need much help, Sybil. If anything, I understand very well how great my husband is."

Sybil chuckled. "He is indeed a great leader. Many people doubted him, but he proved everyone wrong. Now, the Zorken family stands once more on equal ground with the rest."

"Haha..." Lola laughed softly, tracing her notes before snapping her gaze back to Sybil. "By the way, Sybil, I understand how Nathalie almost ruined the Order. But what I don’t understand is... how did she manage to take so many people hostage?"

From what she had learned, everyone under the Zorken family and the Order was trained — young or old, n or won. Lola could understand if the majority had sided with Nathalie, but they didn’t. Only a few did, and many of Nathalie’s forces ca from the underground.

Sybil chuckled and nodded. "I was waiting for you to ask that. Or perhaps, the master was waiting for you to reach that point."

"He’s busy," Lola said with a breathy chuckle. "I don’t want to burden him with more questions."

Unless she absolutely had to. But in the past month since their arrival, Atlas had barely had a mont to breathe after being away for so long. She didn’t want to mix their limited quality ti with complicated matters.

Sybil smiled gently and stood. "Young madam, you’ll understand better if I show you," she said. "Co with ."
