Chapter 140: Chapter 140: CONFESSION 2

Seeing her parents’ worried faces, Zara suddenly smiled, her depressive mood vanishing completely. "Haha, don’t fret, parents. Fortunately, I still had two questions when I got that. I wanted to know if there was anything that I could do to stop myself from dying and why I was even sick in the first place!" her playful tone made the couple feel more complicated rather than relieved.

Her eyes nevertheless squinted as she recalled how she was given so much hope back then after getting a confirmation of her death.

"The book told

that I was cursed by an ancient curse and the only way for

to live a normal life was to find the cursed items which were part of the cursing!" after going around in circles, Zara started revealing clues.

Upon hearing that, Lena nearly jumped to her feet, especially when she heard that cursing part.

"Baby, you .... Did you just say soone cursed you?" she literally shrieked, her body shaking with so much anger.

Cade’s eyes at this mont were narrowed. His mind running a marathon, thinking of possible suspects.

Zara wasn’t planning on glossing over the issue, so she nodded in response, and answered, "Um. It’s a curse and according to the book, whoever cursed

is unfortunately very close to !" dropping another bomb calmly.

"Baam!" this ti, Cade rose to his feet, slamming the table and startling Zara, who wasn’t expecting her father to have such a reaction.

With red eyes and his fists clenched Cade looked at his daughter and asked hoarsely, "Darling! Tell ! Who is that person? Tell your dad and I will find that person and cut him to pieces!"

The thought of all the suffering that they had all gone through these years. Feeling helpless and hopeless every single day because their daughter was going to die, and they didn’t even know why she was dying in the first place. And now, hearing that all this was man-made, how could they be at ease?

Seeing her parents like this, especially her father who was so angry that he dared to utter such scary words in her presence, Zara couldn’t help but feel guilty realizing that she had been hasty.

As soone who had sohow gotten accustod to her situation, she had forgotten that her parents didn’t know a single thing and that exposing them to this might affect them a bit.

However, she had already spoken and couldn’t take back her words anymore.

"Parents, how about you sit down again? I am just starting!" she persuaded softly, an imploring expression on her face.

Seeing their daughter that way, the two fuming parents reluctantly sat back. However, those speaking eyes were enough for Zara to understand fully that it wasn’t going to be that simple.

"Unfortunately, the book refused to tell

who cursed !" Zara said helplessly as she shook her head. The book had unfortunately refused to tell her. Apparently, it was sothing that she needed to find herself.

Maybe the secrets of heaven at this ti couldn’t be exposed.

"However, fret not. The book had been helping

in finding the relics to break the curse. I was given a year at most when I started to find the relics. The book didn’t explicitly tell

how many relics I needed to break the curse. But what I know is that as long as I retrieve a relic, the book will give

information about the next relic!" Zara said smilingly, hoping that her parents would feel better with this news since she didn’t have any news regarding her curser.

She also wanted that person dearly and asked him or her why he or she did that to her.

Although she was now certain that the curse should have been placed on her in her previous life, thousands of years ago, whoever was part of the cursing ritual, that person’s incarnation was now by her side.

Amir was the incarnation of Mir, the man who forged the pendant of eternity for her with the blood she shed after being stabbed to death by that unfaithful demon, the one she still didn’t know of his identity. The one lingering around her like a ghost.

If Amir could co back to life, what would stop that demon from doing so?

Surely upon hearing that, Lena’s expression improved as she took a deep sigh.

"Baby, so this trip of yours was related to the first relic, right?" finding that everything was slowly starting to make sense, Lena asked hopefully, suppressing her urge to kill soone, especially the daring one who dared curse her beloved.

Zara nodded smilingly, giving her mother a thumbs up.

"Um, the book directed

to Lingren Village. Only in that village could I find the first relic!" with a smile on her face, she said, recalling her first encounter with Amir.

Lena, hearing that, sighed with relief. ’Thank the deities that I listened to my husband and didn’t stop Zara. If I had stopped her, I would have committed a great sin!’ just thinking about it. She shuddered with fear.

Cade, sensing her motions, patted her hand in comfort, probably aware of what she was thinking currently.

Zara’s eyes squinted as she recalled her stubbornness just so that she could go on that road trip, looked at her parents and slightly bowed apologetically. "I have always wanted to say that I am sorry but being too willful. Back then, I didn’t know how to tell you about this. So, I just forced things!" she said wryly. "At least when you see

getting better, I thought that you guys would not oppose my decision to go out again. However, that will not make

right. Because of my actions, I worried you greatly, for that, this daughter is sincerely sorry!"

Zara wasn’t an idiot. Although she was stuck in the house for a decade and a half, she was an adult who understood a lot of things.

She could still rember the ti when her mother stood there like a lone tree, despite her father being by her side. She looked very pitiful and her reluctance and worry laced in those eyes nearly made her return to the villa.

However, just like any other person out there. She was selfish and wanted to live as well. So, what if she aggravates her condition? As long as the curse was removed, won’t she get better for real?

Never in a million years did the couple ever think that they would get to hear Zara saying ’I am sorry’ in person before.
