Among the gasping crowd were single won who were already thinking of ways to get close to the General. No matter whatever family they co from, it was always good to have soone from the military.
And they certainly weren't going to let go of the good opportunity.
Qin Man took a deep breath and continued to read the card.
The card appeared to be quite sincere, but it sounded like a grandchild greeting his grandmother rather than a general greeting his old friend. The crowd furrowed their eyebrows as they waited.
"This is General Yao Ling, signing—"
Yao?
Qin Man couldn't help but find the na familiar. Who was he again?
Wasn't he the orphan that Yao Rong had taken in?
Thinking of this, Qin Man subconsciously glanced over at Yao Rong and his wife. As expected, the understanding was evident on their faces. Could the child really have beco the general?
However, she had never heard of him joining the army!
Moreover, if it had really been him, how co Yao Rong and Jiang Wan didn't say anything about this information? She pursed her lips.
"Yao? Could he be another son of the Yao Family?"
"Whose son though?"
Everyone was whispering one after the other. Their eyes were practically sparkling with excitent. They wanted to know whose family was so powerful that they'd have a son in one of the highest positions in the military.
Jiang Wan frowned uncomfortably as she pinched her husband's arm. "His identity should've been kept a secret," she whispered. "If these people find out, he wouldn't be able to live a peaceful life."
"Of course!"
Yao Rong quickly agreed.
Yao Ling was the son of his best friend. However, his best friend Luo Shan had actually died at an early age, while he was in the process of arresting a drug trafficker.
During that ti, his son had only been five-years-old.
Because of her uncontrollable grief, the mother had left her two sons behind, Luo Ling and Luo Hao. Their grandparents were left, not knowing what to do. They were far too old to handle the kids.
When Yao Rong and Jiang Wan arrived at their house to pay respects, they couldn't help but see the piteous state of their kids.
He just couldn't bear to see them alone. That's why he had chosen to adopt them, after asking permission from their grandparents.
Luo Ling had mories of his father still, so upon being adopted by the Yao Family, he was obviously very thankful.
Luo Hao, however, sadly had no other mories of his biological parents. Instead, he treated them as if they were his actual parents, which they had no problem with.
After all, they had always treated them as if they were their own.
In light of the two children's special identities, they were afraid that the drug traffickers would exact their revenge. After all, their father had been quite a prolific policeman and had arrested and stopped countless big-ti drug traders.
Instead, they told their relatives that they were simply orphans who had been sponsored.
Everyone knew that the family had decided to sponsor two orphans, but they didn't know who they were and how deep their relationship was.
That's why Qin Man didn't know.
Old Madam Yao stood up from her seat and walked toward her daughter-in-law. While her actions remained restrained, anyone could see the anger and annoyance flashing in her eyes. "This child has quite a pitiful past, having lost his parents at the age of five."
Five?
The General was an orphan?
"The child being spoken of was an orphan who had been sponsored by Yao Rong and his family. He had decided to change his na in gratitude, as such, he is considered their child and my grandson."
Everyone slowly nodded.
No wonder!
"He's truly promising!"
"My child has everything he needs and he couldn't even manage such a feat!"
"He can't compare."
"Is he married now? My daughter is quite an angel, and she's very much looking forward to eting him."
After everyone had co back to their senses, they all started spouting one question after the other. So were even offering their hands in marriage!
