784 Fighting for the Initiative
In the end, Vice-President Tang slowly nodded. It was just Elder Chen and his disciple. Even if they had brought him back, with their man, they’d be able to seize them again eventually.
It really wasn’t much of a problem.
“Alright, I agree.”
He took a deep breath. “However, I’ll be the one to decide on the location of our exchange. Why don’t we exchange in a small alley on the East Side of South Street? My people will be waiting there.”
President Tan imdiately shook his head.
Being a long-ti resident of Jing City, he knew exactly how chaotic that place could be.
If they really drove up there right now, they might as well be just setting themselves up for an ambush!

Naturally, Yao Tang refused. “Wouldn’t it be too obvious if we headed up there in a large group? Why don’t we et at the Entrance of the Music Association instead.”
Vice-President Tang frowned.
It would be much easier to ambush them, given the number of guards around the Association. By the ti they set foot, they would automatically be done for.

It was far too dangerous.
The elders within the Music Association would’ve already talked with the people from the National Security Bureau. They’d obviously be waiting for them.
The Green Cloud Pavilion would only be walking into a trap.
“Our deal is set in South Street. If you don’t co, then you can forget about the deal,” Vice-President Tang snapped coldly.
The girl obviously wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation of saving Elder Chen. If she could exchange them with the elder himself, then she’d have to take all the risks they brought her.

He smirked.

Just as Vice-President Tang felt as if he was finally reaching to an agreent, a loud and mocking laugh echoed from the other end of the line.
His stomach stirred.

“I don’t really care,” she replied nonchalantly. “As long as I hand over Elder Nie to the Cabinet, I’ll still be making quite a contribution. Besides, I don’t know Elder Chen either way, so it’s fine if you decided to keep him.”
She shrugged as if Elder Chen’s death was a trivial matter.
Yao Tang prepared to hang up.
“Since we can’t co to an agreent, why don’t we just forget about it?”
This ti, Vice-President Tang fell silent. His eyes widened. How could she have rejected his offer? Did she not understand what was going on?
At that mont, President Tan raised his eyebrow. “Shall we bring him back, then?”
Since they couldn’t co to an agreent, he must take action.
It was better to bring a spy anyway.
“Alright, let’s do this.”
She was just about to hang up when the man’s voice ca from the other end of the line.
“Don’t hang up!” he yelled anxiously. “We can discuss things even further. How about we et in a different place? As long as it isn’t at the entrance of the Music Association, we’re willing to work with you.”
He had just heard a man’s voice.
That must’ve been President Tan.
However, why did it feel as if President Tan was asking for the girl’s opinion?
Was she the one making the decisions here?
“Then I’ll let you know when I’ve chosen.”
Without another word, she hung up.
Vice President Tang gritted his teeth in exasperation. How could he, a fifty-year-old man, be negotiating with a little girl? How could she have won the negotiations? He rubbed his forehead.
How embarrassing!
However, did he really have a choice?
