Chapter 134 Yao Ran’s Manipulative Behavior

They weren’t sure if they could handle another round of slander.

Most of all, they didn’t know if they could bear to see Yao Ranbeing painted as the oppressed heroine whileYao Tangwas the cruel villainess.

At that sa mont, Yao Tangsat quietly in her seat with her strawberry milk tea, oblivious to everything that was happening around her.

Her eyes were glued to her phone, her thumb slowly scrolling down her screen. Her inbox was almost full.

?

The friends proceeded to sit back and continue eating while pretending Yao Randidn’t exist. Although the atmosphere was awkward, they sohow managed to pull through their al without further events.

Qin Jing wiped her mouth and packed up her lunch box.

Yao Ran quickly followed suit, her eyes constantly darting in the other girl’s direction.

It was clear that she wasn’t going to relent until Qin Jinggave her the ti of the day.

ng Yang let out a long breath, his brows furrowed in discomfort.

How could he not have realized before just how shaless and thick-skinned Yao Ranwas? She never gave up until she got what she wanted.

Fortunately, Qin Jinghad a light temperant. After putting her things away, she turned toYao Tangwith a blank expression.

“I’m not going to let you disturb Sister Tang’s lunch. Let’s go downstairs and talk.”

She had dealt with people like Yao Ranenough tis to know how to handle this situation. That didn’t an that she was any less irritated.

Seeing that Yao Ranhad succeeded in trickingQin Jing, ng Yangturned away and snorted in disgust.

“That bratty princess has lost a point in my book.’

But that didn’t matter, since he was sticking to his Sister Tang’s side no matter what. People could badmouth her all they want, and he would believe a word they said.

Yao Ran brightened up after hearingQin Jing’s response. “Great! I’m really glad.”

She happily gathered her stuff and led the way out of the cafeteria.

The two girls stopped in the middle of the hall downstairs.

Yao Ran glanced atQin Jingthrough her lashes, looking shy and demure as she handed her the cup of fruit tea she had been carrying all this ti. “Here, Qin Jing. It’s peach-flavored oolong tea. I asked your forr classmates, and they told that this is your favorite.”/

The cup was still sowhat cool to the touch, despite having been bought a while back.

It was rather tempting, especially in this scorching heat, but Qin Jing held herself back. She could always buy one for herself any ti, anyway. She looked away and pocketed her hands without saying anything. But Yao Ranwas unfazed. She continued smiling and acted as if she hadn’t just been blown off.

“I guess you don’t like it. That’s okay, next ti I’ll get you sothing that I like.”

Qin Jing did not acknowledge her.

Yao Ran pressed her lips tightly together and put the fruit tea away.

“Qin Jing, I want to tell you that I really want us to be classmates. It doesn’t matter what you think of , you are always welco to join our class!”

Her tone was eager and full of what sounded like sincerity. There was expectation there, too.

“No way,” Qin Jingsnapped. “I’m never going to transfer to your class, so will you stop badgering already?”

She had had enough of Yao Ran’s shaless pestering

Qin Jing hadn’t co toNo. 1 High Schoolto better her studies or anything like that, she was here solely forYao Tang.

If she had wanted better-quality education, she would have totally gone to the more prestigious institutions in the capital.

“Won’t you at least consider it?”

Yao Ran had a pleading look on her face.

To an unsuspecting passerby, it would look like Qin Jingwas bullying the sweet and fragileYao Ran.

“I really, really want you to be my classmate,” she insisted. “Our Yao familyalso wants to be better acquainted with the Qin family, so we should do our part and be friends, right? Even if it’s only for the sake of your family.”

Qin Jing openly sneered at the other girl.

The Qin family had their own network all over the country, more so in the capital. Whereas, the Yao familyonly held influence inCity A, if one could even call it that. In the grand sche of things, the Qin family couldn’t be bothered to make an alliance with the Yao family. It wouldn’t affect their lives or their business either way.

Which made it all the more ridiculous for Yao Ranto be holding this so-called relationship overQin Jing’s head.

“Ha! Did you honestly think my Qin family has any need to establish a connection with the Yao family?”

“You’re still young, so you may not understand yet,” Yao Ransaid in a slightly condescending tone. “In the world of business, it is always better to make friends rather than enemies.”

Qin Jing smirked in amazent. ‘This girl is really tenacious. No matter what I say, it just bounces right off her.’

“Stop patronizing ,” Qin Jing retorted. “Let ask you this, the other day when you ca to our house with your father, were you or were you not intending to secure the possibility of marriage with my brother?”

She might as well nip it in the bud and put Yao Ranin her place once and for all.

To think that she had tried to advance her own selfish motives under the guise of supporting her family’s interests… Qin Jingloathed such manipulative behavior.
